According to PornHub Vice President Corey Price in a comment to GamesBeat (http://venturebeat.com/2015/11/13/pornhubs-traffic-dipped-significantly-the-day-fallout-4-came-out/), the site saw a 10 percent drop in traffic among gamers after around 5am and continued until around 3pm.
Seems people were putting that sick day (http://www.destructoid.com/here-s-a-doctor-s-note-so-you-can-play-fallout-4-319786.phtml) to good use.
Traffic began to decrease again at around 6pm and didn’t return to normal levels until around 11pm when gamers presumably needed a form of release that wandering around desolate wastelands collecting caps and fighting off marauders just couldn’t deliver.

A large percentage of my online friends are playing non-stop too. My Facebook feed is of people getting the game and saying how awesome it is. It really is though, this stuff is a masterpiece that gives you many options so it can appeal to a large amount of people without having a Marxist narrative, since it has all narratives and lets you carry out which you think is correct and see the results.

It's a bit glitchy. It will be polished in 6 months once the modding community gets a hold of it and makes prostitution and vampire mods, LOL.

It will all be here and that's why you want it on PC. Modding gives you unlimited options since you can get all sorts of fan made weapons, missions, perks, appearances, and so on.


I was originally against it being set in Boston, but the whole twist with MIT being there and transhumanism/Synths made it really awesome.




The Institute create AI robot slaves that are humanlike like. They are scientifically superior. They are considered the bad guys/"Nazis" in the game since they want an ethnically pure Utopia like Elysium. Perfect choice.
The Railroad tries to free the Synths (slaves), and let them lead human lives.
The Minute Men are old school Republic patriots. Minarchists really.
The Brotherhood of Steel are like they are in all Fallout games: Trying to horde technology for themselves since they think the common folk are dumb fucks who will destroy themselves if they get near it.

Even paying the retail price ($59.99) is cheap compared to what you get out of it. A dinner and a movie will cost you that much and be over after a few hours, but this will give you hundred(s) of hours of entertainment.

Video games today are like a deeper emotional experience than books, or movies, or any other form of media. You take the role of the character and feel a lot of the same emotions they do and have to make decisions that impact the rest of the story. It's a sensation I can't replicate anywhere else without going to jail or risking getting killed.

books are deeper than anything visual only. The narrative of the game does give it more depth in that you can get that same inner thought access you do in books. But movies can be made in that fashion as well.

The difference is that people will spend 10 hours plus, reading a book or playing a game but not watching a movie. I guess maybe mini series could have filled the void but just became mini movies lacking intimate character depth.

I posted somewhere else I had played through the 13 episodes that guy had posted up, to that point. Fairly entertaining. Its clearly a big open world. It appeals as the kind of game I enjoy playing. It follows a fairly standard formula.

Run around, kill, explore. Accomplish goals that impact peoples lives. All from the safety of home.

In RL if you did all that you'd be thrown in jail pretty fast. The closest thing might be hunting, but that's it.

It has a post-SHTF thing going on too, like Mad Max. A lot of us do prepping and have fantasies about how we'll survive post-SHTF with our AR-15s and bugout bags. This lets you do it kind of.

It is better when you play it though since watching someone else play is seeing someone elses decisions. When you control all of the decisions it instantly becomes very immersive.

When I weigh risk to reward girlfriends don't seem worth it, at least now.
