As protesters remain outside Minneapolis' 4th Precinct headquarters, some police officers are worried that the situation could turn violent.
Protesters have been gathering for days, denouncing Sunday's fatal police shooting of Jamar Clark. They say Clark was handcuffed when he was killed, but the head of the city's police union and a lawyer for one of the two police officers involved in the shooting say that's not true.
The lawyer says Clark had control of the officer's gun when he was shot.
CNN affiliate WCCO reports that some protesters have been spraying graffiti and throwing rocks at officers.
Police also say that they've found Molotov cocktails nearby.
A lawyer for the police officers involved in the shooting said Thursday that Clark had control of an officer's gun during a scuffle in which he was fatally shot in the head early Sunday.
Officers Mike Ringgenberg and Dustin Schwarze were trying to arrest Clark, who "chose to resist, fight officers, and seize control of an officer's handgun," according to a media statement from Kroll and Frederic Bruno, attorney for Schwarze.
At a news conference Thursday, Kroll said the officer's pistol "was in the holster and [Clark] had physical control of the hand grip," Kroll told reporters.
Protesters have said that a witness claimed Clark was in handcuffs when he was shot.
Bruno and Kroll disputed that.

ALL cops need to be equipped with Level IV retention holsters so they can't be using this excuse any more. (and dindus can't be taking their service pistols from them)

Minnesota CHAPTER of black lives matter.....ie nyc/dc-backed community organizers
nyc/dc's fbi boys joining the operation
such a shame....he was just about to start 'putting his life back together'. I guess that begins with attacking paramedics?
http://rapidnewsnetwork.com/jamar-clark-shooting-mpls-police-report-injuries-at-protest-police-union-comments/301951/
Police said they used chemical irritants against protesters outside the station’s main entrance, forcing them to move to the sidewalk.
The Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension, which is leading the investigation into what is officially a homicide, has obtained video of the scene from several sources, including police themselves and the ambulance, but will not reveal what they show. The two officers were called to the scene of a domestic dispute after Jamar Clark reportedly interfered with paramedics who were tending to the victim.
Members of the Minnesota chapter of Black Lives Matter and other demonstrators have urged authorities to release the video of the shooting.
Ringgenberg and Schwarze both have been police officers for seven years, including 13 months with Minneapolis police.
Both officers have been interviewed by officials with the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension. Nelson said it’s unlikely people would face any legal repercussions for posting videos online that they took of the incident on their own.
Protesters have demanded that investigators release any video they have of the shooting, but investigators say they won’t while the probe is ongoing.
Protesters block traffic on a major highway during a protest about Jamar Clark’s death.
Pressed on the timeline for results of the BCA investigation, Evans said two to four months is typical but that the Clark case “has been given top priority”.
Tensions are high and the group Black Lives Matter is calling its supporters down to the scene.
The FBI also has agreed to conduct a civil-rights investigation into the shooting. More than 50 people were arrested during the second day of protests over the shooting of Jamar Clark by a police officer during an apparent struggle.
Chief Janee Harteau said Thursday that officers themselves had been hit with pepper spray, Molotov cocktails, bottles, rocks and bricks.
“AIUSA calls on law enforcement officers that are policing protests to provide clear directions to protesters when an order to disperse has been provided and refrain from arresting individuals who are in attendance in order to report on or observe the events and are not involved in the protests themselves”.
The latest in the investigation into the fatal shooting of a black man by Minneapolis police that has sparked days of demonstrations.
Burns says her family wants justice for brother, but also wants peace. According to State Patrol Lt. Tiffani Schweigart, 34 adults and 8 juveniles were arrested and booked into jail after refusing to clear the area around 9 p.m. Most of those arrested received misdemeanor citations for unlawful assembly and being pedestrians on the freeway. Police say Clark, a suspect in the assault, was interfering with medical personnel and got into a scuffle with the officers. “If I had shot a police officer, my name and his name would be all over the news by now”. He died after his life support machine was turned off at a local hospital Monday evening. The U.S. Department of Justice has also launched an inquiry for possible federal civil rights violations.
The officers were involved in a confrontation with 24-year-old Jamar Clark on Sunday after they were summoned to a reported assault.
Investigators will present the case to the Hennepin County attorney’s office to determine whether charges should be filed. Clark’s family has told reporters that he was en route to putting his life back together.

Minneapolis police shoot as vehicle lunges, paramedics attacked
The Minneapolis NAACP is calling for justice following an officer-involved shooting early Sunday morning on the city’s north side. N. While en route, police learned the call had become a “HELP” call, as described by police in their news release, and the assault suspect had returned to the area, “confronting paramedics and disrupting their ability to render aid”.
Police say officers tried to intervene and a fight started.
The man was transported to Hennepin County Medical Center.
At a few point, an officer fired his weapon at least once, hitting the man. Police said their preliminary investigation shows the man was not handcuffed, but a few witnesses said he was. The man’s condition and identity haven’t been released. The man is black, and members of Black Lives Matter Minneapolis were planning a protest Sunday afternoon.

Organizers say the night’s start of the weekend means they could see the largest crowd so far. The guest of honor at the night’s vigil is the national NAACP President Cornell William Brooks.
Police shot Jamar Clark early Sunday morning during an assault call. Investigators say he had attacked a woman earlier and started interfering with paramedics when they arrived to help her.
Police say when Officers Dustin Schwarze and Mark Ringgenberg arrived, a struggle broke out. The police union said Clark tried to disarm one of the officers, and had control of the officer’s gun.
That’s when the other officer shot him in the head. The police union says the woman who Clark attacked went to the hospital with a broken ankle and other injuries.

What mattered was that I was a woman of color trying to get into her apartment — in an almost entirely white apartment complex in a mostly white city (http://quickfacts.census.gov/qfd/states/06/0670000.html) — and a white man who lived in another building called the cops because he’d never seen me before.

Five people were shot Monday night during a Black Lives Matter protest outside a Minneapolis Police precinct over the fatal shooting of a black man, authorities said.
It's unclear who fired the shots and police have named no suspects, but protesters blamed a trio of alleged white supremacists wearing bulletproof vests.
Black Lives Matter rep Miski Noor told theStar-Tribune shots rang out after protesters tried to usher the supremacists away.
One of the gunmen was wearing a mask and "shouting the 'n-word,' " Noor said.
The Black Lives Matter Minneapolis chapter called the shooting "white supremacist terrorism."
The gunmen are still are on the run.
All of the gunshot wounds are non-life-threatening, accordign to police.
The shooting happened around 10:40 p.m. during a sit-in protest over the fatal shooting of Jamar Clark
The protest continued after the shooting, with about 200 people sitting around campfires in the freezing morning hours. But Clark's relatives urged the protesters to go home, saying the sit-in must end "out of imminent concern for the safety of the occupiers."

Miski Noor, a media contact for Black Lives Matter, said “a group of white supremacists showed up at the protest, as they have done most nights.”
One of the three counterdemonstrators wore a mask, said Dana Jaehnert, who had been at the protest site since early evening.
When about a dozen protesters attempted to herd the group away from the area, Noor said, they “opened fire on about six protesters,” hitting five of them. Jaehnert said she heard four gunshots.
Jie Wronski-Riley said angry protesters moved the men away from the encampment at the police station. Wronski-Riley heard what sounded like firecrackers and thought, “surely they’re not shooting human beings.” Two young black men on either side of him were hit, one in the back and leg, the other in the arm.
At least two of the three men who had been taunting protesters were firing guns, said Wronski-Riley, who described the incident as “really chaotic, really fast.”
“I am obviously appalled that white supremacists would open fire on nonviolent, peaceful protesters,” said Nekima Levy-Pounds, president of the Minneapolis chapter of the NAACP, who returned to the site after the shootings.

http://nymag.com/daily/intelligencer/2015/11/two-suspects-arrested-after-blm-shooting.html
Police have arrested two unnamed men in connection with Monday night's shooting of five Black Lives Matter protesters in Minneapolis. Police have identified the individuals only as a 32-year-old Hispanic man apprehended in South Minneapolis and a 23-year-old white man found in nearby Bloomington. But authorities are still searching for other suspects. Protesters originally reported that a group of three "white supremacists" were involved in the shooting.
Days before the shooting, two masked men filmed themselves bringing a gun to the protest site, according to a video posted by Black Lives Matter.
VIDEO: Last night 2 white supremacists, one carrying a pistol, showed up to our peaceful protest at the 4th precinct. After community members on livestream started questioning them they left without incident, then we later found a video of them en route to the protest brandishing a pistol and making comments including “stay white” and justifying the killing of Jamar Clark. It has come to our attention that members of this group plan on returning tonight to our candlelight vigil at 4:30, some may come armed. [See: http://pastebin.com/FkA1B2rq]
They say they will be wearing the "4 of clubs" to identify one another, so watch for this badge or patch on their clothing. In the era of white supremacist terrorism against people of color across the U.S., we refuse to be intimidated by hate groups. We call on our supporters to join us tonight to continue to demand #Justice4Jamar and an end to violence against our community, whether by white supremacist citizens, or white supremacist Police like MPD union president Bob Kroll.

Demonstrators saw the pair outside the city's fourth precinct, where they'd been holding nightly protests over the police shooting of 24-year-old Jamar Clark. According to the protesters, after community members questioned these "white supremacists," they left without incident. Later that night, a supporter noticed the threatening video on Livestream and alerted the protesters, Gawker reports. The original Livestream upload has since been deleted, but the footage remains available on BLM Minneapolis's Facebook page.
At present, there is no concrete evidence that the two men, who went by the names SaigaMarine or BlackPowderRanger in the video, were at Monday night's demonstration. Regardless of their involvement, the 90-second video offers some insight into the character of the counter-demonstrators that protesters had been dealing with. In the video, the men encourage viewers to "stay white," refer to black protesters using the obscure racial epithet "dindus," and announce plans to provide the protesters with a little bit of "reverse cultural enrichment."
Gawker notes that the men also appear to reference /pol/, 4chan’s “politically incorrect” message board. On its Facebook page, Black Lives Matter Minneapolis flagged a 4chan thread titled "Chimpout Friday Night," in which several 4channers discussed plans for attending their protests last weekend.
