I am very used to having a safety.

If a bullet is chambered, it comes in real handy to use the safety to make the firearm un-fireable.

I do this all the time with a rifle, put the safety on when I go to check a target.

Anyway, I like the grip & I already have some brass for it.

Anybody got wisdom to share about this kind of 'heavy trigger' non-safety safety ?

I've never had a handgun or rifle with a safety. The 4 rules are my safety.

This is good if you are not lending your gun to anyone. And why would you?

I only have a handgun. no safety. De cocker. heavy trigger SA/DA. I have no problem with it. I don't carry though. Even so I still probably prefer things as they are if I did carry.

Much like a Glock, the safety is designed into the action of the S&W M&P pistol. Want it to be 'safe'? Keep your finger OFF the trigger.

A cop buddy I used to do ride-alongs with was handling his Glock service pistol inside the building at the police range. He put his finger on the trigger and it went bang just like it's designed to do. Negligent discharge, he put a hole in a wall.

I used to own a well tuned S&W 25-2 revolver with a VERY light double action trigger - no safety on revolvers either.

I have glocks and revolvers. My safety is in my head, do not put my finger on the trigger unless I intend to shoot.
