Considering the US Mint sells a proof gold eagle for $1,410 and proof gold buffalo for $1,440, this looks like a good deal with only a 4,000 limit.
Free shipping until Dec. 10 on orders $100 or more.
I should add, this is the lowest mintage platinum eagle in bullion/proof to date.

You sure about that? This coin becomes the key date of all the platinum series going back to 1997.

This is the proposed design for 2016, second of the 2 year series.

Yeah, but were talking about platinum not gold. My reasoning is more personal opinion than anything else. If I want platinum, I will buy platinum just not some overpriced numismatic that will only have a narrow resale market as a proof.
If platinum goes back to the 2000 area, would you sell these for platinum melt value or for the numismatic value.

What year did any mint start making proof platinum rounds? Seems like a gimmick to me.

I'm considering buying one for a flip. Dealers are offering pre sale coins for $1,550 - $1,695
There are dealers offering $100 over for your coin now. I would be speculator and the moment I could get $500 more then I paid, it will be sold. The downside risk, is maybe -$100-$150 loss. It's a crap shoot. Keep in mind there are no bullion companion coins this year.

For 2014 the mint sold 4,629 proofs 16,900 bullion

In 2014 the mint sold 3,341 proofs in the first 7 days @ $1,650

Why, because she has no nipples?

Would you like it if she had a pair of pencil erasers?

I knew this was a monster buy, fuck!
I was the first call...by the time she entered my order the 4,000 mintage was gone. The internet orders took them all in the first 3 minutes.
SOLD OUT!

That has to be a US Mint record sell-out 4,000 in 3 minutes.

The mint only offered these a week ago.

I was the first caller and the lady was dicking around putting in my order, she said the puter was slow...by the time she entered it they were gone.
This is the key date for all the PT coins. I'm still pissed!

Look what these lunatics are asking now http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_sacat=0&_nkw=2015+platinum+eagle+proof&_sop=16
