I was having dinner with my parents the other night. To share, my parents are happily married 40 something years. I love them and respect them. I was blessed with a fantastic childhood with lots of great memories, and the older I get the more blessed I realize I am.

However, my parents are very anti guns. We were not allowed any firearms in the house, period, growing up, aside from pellet guns. I didn't gain knowledge about firearms until later in life.

Well, the topic of the San Bernardino terrorist attack came up before dinner while sharing wine. I said, we can expect if there are more attacks like this, they happen in California. I got their attention, and they ask why. I said think about it. Their goal is to kill as many people as possible. California has some of the strictest gun laws. They will attack the places that can't defend themselves. Do you think they will attack a police station? No, because they know the police have guns. Same reason why they won't attack say a supermarket in Texas or Arizona, because in Texas, probably half the people in there have guns on them. They will attack places in California, New York, etc.

They both looked at me, and my father said, "I tend to agree."

Baby steps is all you can do, a big wham to the head turns people off regardless of the topic.

Kinda like Jackie killed John, people can't wrap their head around it. It's right there in video and obvious as hell which pushes them into denial.

You have parents? Congratuations, you must be young.
