Bitcoin’s Creator Satoshi Nakamoto Is Probably This Unknown Australian Genius (http://www.wired.com/2015/12/bitcoins-creator-satoshi-nakamoto-is-probably-this-unknown-australian-genius/)
In the last weeks, WIRED has obtained the strongest evidence yet of Satoshi Nakamoto’s true identity. The signs point to Craig Steven Wright, a man who never even made it onto any Nakamoto hunters’ public list of candidates, yet fits the cryptocurrency creator’s profile in nearly every detail. And despite a massive trove of evidence, we still can’t say with absolute certainty that the mystery is solved. But two possibilities outweigh all others: Either Wright invented bitcoin, or he’s a brilliant hoaxer who very badly wants us to believe he did.

Regardless of whether Wright is Satoshi (and we wouldn't be entirely surprised to see this story fade away like those that came before it), the bottom line here seems to be that the Australian Tax authority thinks this is a guy who may be sitting on a rather sizeable fortune that isn't getting taxed "properly" and we all know what happens when the government thinks it might not be getting its cut.

The Australian Tax Authority is not part of the Australian Government. It's a private corporation that is not registered here in Australia. It's not a legal entity. As a result it does not have constitutional authority to requerst search warrants, conduct searches or even issue fines.

And it's all about the claim that bitcoin is basically a barter token. Barter is taxable here as income.

I hope they can't get into his stuff to get the coins. If I had bitcoins I would be dumping them right now. If they crack them bit coins is done.

Of course the whole thing is about killing off a competitor money system.
