China and Trump both agree – control the Internet

Political ‘opposites’ in the global one-party state have an uncanny ability to demand the same things while spouting different reasons and excuses. One of their key areas of agreement is suppressing the free-flow of information on the Internet. All so predictable.

Take Donald Trump. At last night's Republican debate, he declared that technology was the way to take on the terrorist threat: "We should be able to penetrate the internet and find out exactly where Isis is." The internet was "our idea" but the US needed to "close off areas of the internet" because Isis was using it better. "We can do that if we use our good people."

By blocking certain IP's they can block and track communications from 'terrorist' areas. If not abused I agree this could help. If blowbama does it, it will be a total fail and end up very wrong. If Trump does it with 'very smart' people then I think it could work to an advantage.

All the jargon lately appears geared towards internet 2, maybe this is where the great divide occcurs.

With more than 60% of the economy tied to the givernment tab, it does not appear they would have too hard a transition to make a mandatory transition.
