As defined by gungrabbing collectivists, it means anyone who sells or 'transfers' a gun to anyone else.

Following another a year of shooting massacres of Americans, Obama has let it be known from his holiday retreat in Hawaii, through unidentified advisers, that soon after New Years Day he plans to follow through on plans to expand the definition of who's "in the business" of selling firearms—and who's thus required to perform background checks. Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton, among others, has strongly backed this idea, and now Obama appears ready to make its implementation one of the first major acts of his final year in office.

Note the divide and conquer strategy in play -

The timing of the expected Obama move on background checks guarantees it will receive a hostile reaction from gun-rights advocates, thousands of whom will gather next month in Las Vegas for the firearm industry's annual Shooting, Hunting & Outdoor Trade Show, known as SHOT.
An ironic twist is that many of the attendees at SHOT each year are federally licensed bricks-and-mortar gun dealers who sometimes concede privately that they have no real problem with all gun sellers being forced to do background checks. These full-time retailers resent competition from casual unlicensed sellers at gun shows*.

Of course consider the source, a Bloomberg mouthpiece.

*no, most don't as most FFLs are 'in the business' of selling new guns primarily, their secondary market is strictly stuff that comes in on trades or consignment, the vast majority really don't have the slightest animosity toward private sellers in the secondary market

The gungrabbers have been trying to turn the tide forever and apparently are hoping that 2016 is the year they're able to do so.

Sounds like private sales are going to be made illegal

Right, attempting to make everyone appear to be 'engaged in commerce'* merely by selling their own private property.

*which then allows for the vehicle to 'regulate' 'commerce'

Its a moot point.

The worse has already happened for the gubbermint

There are 400 million people in America if each person had just 3 rifle, pistol and shotgun that is at the minimum 1.2 BILLION GUNS floating around

We have more guns then china has people

Think about that.

We are barnone the most heavely armed populace on planet earth and countrary to media spin we armed because we know that blued steel and a wooden stock are the last line of defense against tyranny.

Any move against that will only make us doubble down even more.

So that 1.2 will jump to 2.4 BILLION the blink of Eye.

War is coming and our side is definitely loaded for bear.

Illegal? Thats just a word invented by criminals politicians/bankers. Its only illegal if "they" find out. There are a lot of gun owners that will disregard this order if (when) it comes down the pipe.

The more i think about this

As soon as the halfrican took office sales surged and there has been no let up.

8 years of increased gun sales.

If i had to hazard a guess

I would. Say this buffoon is directly responsible for putting more then 10.BILLION guns in the hands of men and women who have no intentiins of letting them go.

Americans own more guns then people that have walked the face of the earth.

Who the hell you think is gonna be standing when the dust finally settles?
