<from SilverDoctors>
"Because the law is Federal it would blanket the country with new restrictions, including making it illegal to own any magazine that exceeds a capacity of ten (10) rounds.

And here’s the kicker, even if your weapon has a legally-defined low capacity detachable magazine but is modified with any of the following accessories, it is considered an “assault rifle” and would be outright banned in the United States.
- - -
"Semiautomatic rifle that has the capacity to accept a detachable magazine and any 1 of the following:
“(i) A pistol grip.
“(ii) A forward grip.
“(iii) A folding, telescoping, or detachable stock.
“(v) A barrel shroud.
“(vi) A threaded barrel."

“(B) A semiautomatic rifle that has a fixed magazine with the capacity to accept more than 10 rounds, except for an attached tubular device designed to accept, and capable of operating only with, .22 caliber rimfire ammunition."
- - -
I wanted to buy a 300 WSM rifle ... but I think I'll wait, and focus on to-be-banned hardware.
I have 4 1/2 rifles, all with rectangular mags (AR15 or AR10). I say 1/2 rifle because my 308 is sharing a lower between 2 uppers, need to buy a new lower.

I think there's a good chance this or something like it will pass.

I have not invested the time to look at the smaller more recent false flag attacks. But it is obvious that 9-11 was a false flag attack. It is also obvious that incidents like Sandy Hook are being used as a reason to ban semi-auto rifles.

I respect the judgment of G-S.us'ers that some of these attacks WERE false flag attacks involving firearms.

So - why would TPTB go to so much trouble, without a reason ?

We see the reason - to ram through the passage of HR 4269 and bills like it.

Also, Obama has a year left in office. He has a Terribly Good record of getting things "passed" or implemented by dictator-order - Obama-care, NDAA, etc.

Also, PEOPLE DON'T UNDERSTAND "semi-auto".

How are they going to defend against a home invasion - including one by American cops ? with a 22 caliber rimfire ? A rifle with a capacity of 5 rounds ?

2 of my rifles don't have a threaded barrel. None of them have a forward grip. But they would all be illegal if a bill like HR 4269 passed.

Some turds just DGI. They pull that shit and then THEIR world will be turned upside down along with everyone else's.

(v) A barrel shroud.

EGAD! That deadly barrel shroud!

She was taught well on deflecting, I suppose they have seminars for politicians to teach them that.

Always wanted to try a revolver with more than 6 rounds.

This law also creates an incentive to design guns with a quick change revolver, so the revolver becomes like a (steel) magazine.

Silver Lining - Firearms manufacturers will go into a huddle (Design Huddle) and design something that is not AR15 like, because this attempted law is directed right at AR15 compliant designs.

Then when we are rid of Obama, the attempted law is over-ruled, and we have access to old and new types of designs.

A barrel doesn't need a shroud, it just needs a way to deal with the heat without burning the shooter.

My best rifles don't have threaded muzzles.

I haven't seen much talk of this particular law, anyone know if it is known whether something like this could pass or not?

I don't think there will be compliance, like those in Connecticut who refused to register their arms and those in Los Angeles who could care less about the ten round mag limit regardless if standard capacity mags were previously grandfathered in.

Dems in House passed it within the last week.

Making me grateful there's a Repug. majority.

Guess they want to get it on their resume "voted for" "voted against".
