I'm saying that's just a coincidence. You could attribute many other documentaries to it. Making an entire disinfo cult like Flat Earth to discredit a documentary only a tiny minority of the Truther community has seen or heard of seems a bit silly. More people have heard of the Flat Earth cult than the documentary I know you're heavily invested in.

This film only appeals to Christians who will only be re-affirmed in their beliefs that they are special snowflakes. Basically you're just patting yourself on the back "Yep I'm a Christian, and another Christian made a movie saying I'm smart and right about things because stuff." When people hold these types of beliefs and fall away from Christianity they become Cultural Marxists, since they same type of thinking is what is held by the Godless Christians (SJWs.) Christianity is dying currently because of technology, and this trend will only continue. This is the petri dish of Cultural Marxism.

This is one of the main issues I have with Christianity. You find meaning where there is none. When something bad happens you think it's because you (literally) are at the center of the Universe. Not sure if it's a psy-op or not, but what I can tell you from first-hand experience is that there is a large amount of people who really do believe in the flat earth.

It's difficult to refute in conversation because celestial mechanics and spherical geometry involve very complicated math, and it's not something you solve by sitting around in your debate hat seeing who can make the "most points".

A good example of this is shown by the first comment on the article, which talks about how no photos exist of skyscrapers pointed in non-parallel directions. If we're on a curved surface, shouldn't you see skyscrapers that have enough distance between them pointed at different angles?

Well I don't know. I can't answer that question by putting on my debate hat and arguing. I'd actually have to do some pretty complicated geometry to even figure out what I would expect to see. And if I did do that calculation, of course it would be instantly debunked by a youtube video of a "mathematician" somehow equating the drop per mile with skyscraper angle, proving that I'm completely wrong and that "my ball earth model is falling apart" (queue music and slide show of famous scientists interleaved with NASA photos with image artifacts with red arrows pointing them out).

As explained in the linked article, Lawrence Krauss was featured in the film, and Kate Mulgrew narrated it! I think it is an interesting thing to be watching. To see how it starts and evolves. A question I do have seems to be that the FE information seemed to build very quickly. As if they had the bulk of it ready to go. I think that has been raised more than a few times by people.

I tend to look at the operators themselves. I think you can determine what is going on by the players and their links.

Mark Sargent is one. Don't know about the name, however he does a huge number of interviews and he does some semi regular stuff with a woman from new york. A designer who's background suggests to me could be a handler. Certainly a player. Its Flat Earth and other hot potatoes or something. First impressions you probably would not suspect anything but a bit of background will get alert people on guard IMO.

So far debunked:
Claim: GPS fails to track aircraft crossing the pacific from Australia to South America. This means no aircraft go that route.
Answer: GPS is not a tracking system. It does not track anything at anytime. Global Positioning System

Claim: No one gets to go to Antarctica unless government agent.
Answer: At least two widely known explorers have made the trek. One died last weekend in the attempt. 30 miles short.

Claim: Michigan lake Chicago city mirage.
Answer: People have appeared to prove this. I don't find them convincing. I have to go from my own experience here. We have an island 12 miles from the coast. It's clearly visible with the eye. Sometimes it's a sliver on the horizon. Other times its nearly all visble to the naked eye including the beaches.

Other times it appears to be some inches or feet above the ocean surface and in fact the last time I was at the coast, about 3 weeks ago, I drove over the last hill to the beach and saw the Island was clearly above the ocean surface as were several freighters out there. There are always several freighters parked off shore in the Gage roads area and north of Rottness island.

As I drove south along the coast a few kilometers and lower than before, the island looked like it was sitting at the right level to the ocean. Even further along it dipped a bit below the surface.

Short answer: refraction is messing with the picture.

BTW, my first take on FE remains the same: first guess is psyop, but ultimately I don't know; and I 'allow for the possibility' that FE-ers have a case. I simply don't care enough to immerse myself in their minutia; don't see how BE vs FE would affect my life/world.... I DO SEE FE being a noisy & divisive distraction, which "came out of nowhere" with jooz.gov.mil cog-infiltration/astroturfing force, and threatens to conflate the whole TM with being "flat-earthers"; a long-engineered/weaponized meme to marginalize/dismiss people who try to convey alt-messages. :(

I have to say I've been unsure about Max. I don't really like his stuff and it may be the speed of presentation.

Here is an image, a non-composite image of the earth from a currently operating Russian satellite system. This is throwing these guys off. They always cry, 'show me even one non-composite image of earth from space'. This satellite system, Elektron-L (http://www.theverge.com/2012/5/12/3016254/russian-satellite-earth-from-space-121-megapixels) is fairly new (first operational January 2011). Unless the Russians are playing a multi-billion$ pysop, these are pictures of a spherical earth. This picture is from today, 1:30 PM Moscow time.

There was also the problem that Google had thousdands of Earth images but they were basically the same 2 images repeated.

Also the continents on some globe images are very distorted. Massive African continent on one and smaller regular looking africa.

Elektro-L is a very new satellite system (started 2011). It has a very high resolution camera (121 megapixel) so can snap a large area picture and still have good resolution for blow-ups, etc. Any other satellite system from the past required composite images and generally artwork to make it look good (stitching together frames from multiple days of images). Elektro-L is a game changer (unless you choose to dismiss it as a fraud, but it is used to predict weather every day).

Planets and moons beyond a certain mass becomes round because of gravity, and the earth is very slightly oblong, flattened ever so little at the poles as gravity around the equator is slightly reduced due to the centripetal force... But it is too small for your eye to appreciate it!
