But why now? Monster yield warheads like that are no longer deployed. The largest are 475 kilotons for the United States, and 800 kilotons for Russia, respectively. Most or all "dial-a-yield" (easily custom set to explode from single kilotons up to max).

Each one, of course, quite capable of leveling any city.
