The father of a teenager who used his dad's gun to kill four classmates and then himself at a Washington state high school was sentenced Monday to two years in prison on firearms charges.

Raymond Fryberg apologized for his son's actions in U.S. District Court. He was convicted in September of illegally owning six firearms, including the gun that his 15-year-old son, Jaylen, used in the 2014 school shooting.

Fryberg, the father of a teenager who used his dad's gun to kill his classmates at a Washington high school in 2014, is scheduled to be sentenced on a charge of illegally possessing the firearm. He was found guilty of owning the gun used in the Marysville school shooting despite being the subject of a domestic violence protection order.

A domestic violence protection order filed by Raymond Fryberg's former partner in Tulalip Tribal Court should have kept him from owning a gun. But a record of the 2002 order never made it into any state or federal criminal databases used by firearms dealers conducting background checks during gun purchases.

So where are the charges on the bureaucrats, that failed to enforce the rules. I don't agree with them, but the bureaucrats are clearly the ones responsible here. Why should this man have to bear the blame for what bureaucrats failed to enforce 12 years earlier ??)

Not sure but he wasn't supposed to buy a gun with a PPO on him. What the issue is is when did the PPO expire? Issued in 2002 and used in a crime in 2014. When was the gun purchased is another relevant question.

Because the bureaucrats have immunity from all laws they impose on the rest of us. That's how the system works.

IF no body knew, including the man affected then there is no intent. No intent goes along way to establishing guilt. This man had a crap lawyer. Not a bad one but a CRAP one.

And timing would be everything. The timing of the order. The expiration of the order. The time of the purchase. There has to be a get out angle somewhere in administrative code. If know one knows then nothing can be done about the thing no one knows about.

crap lawyer.
