Yeah good point. I think one reason is that money doesn't know where to go right now. USD is very strong right now but has started showing signs of weakening. Raw materials, metals are very weak because China's export driven economy is plunging, thus also the plunge in Baltic Dry Index. Gold and Silver has started signs of moving opposite of stock market, so money will most likely move into these once the plunge starts. T-bonds/bills don't look that attractive at close to 0% interest rate and close to $20 T debt, with a China that may have to/want to sell their $1.3T portion of it. South China Sea war with US, no American orders of trinkets, strategic partnership w Russia... I think plunge protection team is involved also, with a stock market plunging, gold rising in tandem would also plunge USD, and all of a sudden gold will be reserve currency instead of USD...

I think markets are propped up artificially at this point, by
a)excessive liquidity (Trillions given for free to too big to fail banks)
b)PPT
c)lack of alternative in market, exception is gold, but TPTB knows that once they let gold price go, their paper games are nearing an end...

Incredibly complex, main reason is because decades of increasing manipulations are adding up! The wheels will start fall of, with increasing complexity the ability to predict where the next fire will start and spread will be also more difficult to predict. The consumer, which is the ultimate driver of economic activity, is dead, banks can't lend them more, to unsafe with decreasing salaries, especially in the middle class, corporate revenues are falling, and they fire more workers...

Essentially the corporate welfare policy (to banks and finance) of primarily Obama and the late George II Bush reign, is now getting hit hard, because trickle down to the consumer masses never really happened.

Perhaps giving $10,000 to every taxpayer (100 million?) as a cash discount could revive the economy temporarily at this stage. It would cost a trillion USD, and it would kickstart inflation hard, but it could keep the wheels on for a bit longer, like pissing in your pants would make you feel warm for a short while...
