California government allows fracking companies to inject three billion gallons of wastewater into aquifer despite worst drought ever
22nd January 2016

‘At a time when California is facing droughts of historic proportions and its residents are in desperate need of water, government officials have admitted that errors have been made in which billions of gallons of wastewater has been re-injected into underground aquifers where high-quality drinking water resides.

“It’s inexcusable,” said Hollin Kretzmann, an attorney with the Center for Biological Diversity in San Francisco. “At (a) time when California is experiencing one of the worst droughts in history, we’re allowing oil companies to contaminate what could otherwise be very useful ground water resources for irrigation and for drinking. It’s possible these aquifers are now contaminated irreparably.” He went on to explain in a video that at least nine cases of well operations have injected a whopping “3 billion gallons of toxic oil industry wastewater into aquifers that were clean and supposed to be protected under federal and state law.”‘

This works for me......the sooner Komiefornia succumbs to its massive failures and progressive stupidity the sooner we can write them off

There has been a lot of rain and snow in California this season. Sierras are 108% (http://www.sacbee.com/news/state/california/water-and-drought/article52304910.html) of normal for snow pack at this point. The drought is not over, but I think some of the pressure is off.

Yup, we've been getting hammered here. Just as predicted. It's actually very beautiful and exciting at the same time. Everything is green, and the mountains are packed with snow. It's like God answered a million prayers.

No, the drought is not over, probably not even close. But we are doing OK out here. Lot's of rainy days makes things relaxing too, the pace of life slows down, and listening to the rain with a good book and a cup of tea/coffee is nice.

Nothing so relaxing as the sound of rain, except maybe camping next to a bend in the river with rapids. The surf is pretty cool too.
