Screw you Fox and Kelly Megyn!

Trump will ‘definitely not’ participate in Fox debate, campaign says

By Ed O'Keefe and Philip Rucker January 26 at 7:10 PM

MARSHALLTOWN, Iowa -- Republican presidential front-runner Donald Trump says he will not attend a debate scheduled for Thursday night in Des Moines, an unexpected twist just days before voters here launch the election process.

"I probably won't be doing the debate. I'm going to have something else in Iowa," he said during a press conference in a high school workout room on Tuesday afternoon.

After the press conference, Trump campaign manager Corey Lewandowski confirmed to The Washington Post that Trump would "definitely not" participate in Thursday's Fox News debate.

“He’s definitely not participating in the Fox News debate," Lewandowski said. "His word is his bond."

He said Trump would remain in Iowa as planned and would instead host an event in the state to raise money for wounded warriors and other veterans groups.

Trump has made such threats before, but he said that the Fox News Channel, which is hosting the debate Thursday night, had gone too far by issuing press statements on Tuesday that he said kicked his concern about Megyn Kelly, one of the debate co-moderators.

"They're dealing with someone who's a little bit different. They can't you with me like they you with everybody else," he added.

When Trump saw the press release from Fox, "I said, 'Bye bye,'" he said.

Trump said his event on Thursday will benefit military veterans and service members wounded in war.

Although Trump said there had been too many Republican debates, Lewandowki said the decision applied only to the Fox News debate and that he would be open to participating in future debates.

Earlier Tuesday, Fox News Channel President Roger Ailes told The Post that "Megyn Kelly is an excellent journalist, and the entire network stands behind her. She will absolutely be on the debate stage on Thursday night."

Later, the network poked fun at Trump in a satirical statement: "We learned from a secret back channel that the Ayatollah and Putin both intend to treat Donald Trump unfairly when they meet with him if he becomes president. A nefarious source tells us that Trump has his own secret plan to replace the Cabinet with his Twitter followers to see if he should even go to those meetings."

Trump's feud with Kelly began during the first debate in August, when she questioned him about disparaging remarks he has made about women with her opening question.

Trump is scheduled to appear later Tuesday in Iowa City. On Wednesday, he is scheduled to travel to Lexington, S.C. for a rally before returning to Iowa for Thursday night's GOP debate in Des Moines.

Don't matter to me one bit since I can't watch any faggot MSM FOX bullshit without subscribing to the televitz.

Fox rating will go to shit guaranteed lol.

Trump should get his own debate going but that wouldn't work out well for anyone else debating.

I wonder if his 'other' event will be televised? That would probably crush FOX further.

Trump's Debate Boycott Throws Fox News Into Chaos

By Gabriel Sherman (http://nymag.com/author/Gabriel%20Sherman/)

Tonight, Donald Trump’s months-long war with Fox News entered a chaotic and – for both sides – perilous new phase when Trump called Roger Ailes’s bluff and announced he was boycotting Fox’s debate to protest Megyn Kelly's aggressive coverage of his campaign. Instead, Trump said he would host his own Iowa town hall to raise money for veterans and let other networks cover it. One clear sign of the gravity of tonight’s development is the sense of confusion that is swirling throughout Fox. The network is split between Kelly's allies like Brit Hume and conservative anchors that are furious that Kelly – who graces the cover of Vanity Fair this month – has become the face of the network. An anchor fumed that Kelly hosted Michael Moore on her program tonight and the lefty filmmaker defended her against Trump. “That would be like Rachel Maddow laughing along with Charles Koch as he trashed Hillary Clinton!" the anchor said. One producer speculated that Fox could go “National Review” on Trump and start attacking him.
For Trump, the political risks are obvious: his absence from the Fox stage just four days before the Iowa Caucus provides his rivals with a primetime platform to tee off on him with no chance for him to fire back. For Ailes, the risks are less immediate, but potentially as consequential to maintaining his power. No matter how loudly GOP candidates complained about Fox’s loutish politics in private, none risked taking Ailes on in public for fear of losing access to this crucial constituency – until Trump, that is. Even if Trump's boycott backfires, he's already achieved a historic victory: Exploding the myth that a Republican candidate can't openly challenge Fox.

How this all ends is anybody’s guess. According to one Trump source, Trump was not taking Ailes’s calls after announcing the boycott. Trump advisers are privately telling people that he will only deal with Rupert Murdoch to resolve the dispute. Having Murdoch dragged into the mess could be a serious problem for Ailes. Ailes earned Murdoch's trust because Fox generates $1 billion in profit, but also because Ailes was always in control. But in recent months Murdoch has been attending news meetings at Fox in the wake of a health scare that forced Ailes to take an extended leave of absence. Succession planning at Fox is very much on Murdoch's agenda. If Ailes loses his grip on the Trump situation – and right now it looks like he is – Murdoch will have another reason to worry about the stability of his most valuable asset.

It's laughable that Cruz and Fox news is painting Trump's walk from the debate as weakness. I see it as being tough. He just stood up to the GREAT FOX NEWS. No republican candidate does that...until Trump. If any of the other turd candidates tried this, it would be a certain end to their campaign.

The thing people don't put together is, there is a big difference between Trump being a presidential candidate and being Commander-in-Chief of the US government and military. As a candidate, Trump doesn't have to put up with Fox's bullshit...as president he will take all comers to task.

I say Trump has shown he's tough to stand up against Fox, not weak.

I'll be watching the Trump Vet/wounded warrior charity event, I hope no one watches the debate.

Here's the Fox attack on Trump that pushed him to decide not to do the debate. This is how the Republican party's Fox news treats their front runner.

A Fox News spokesperson skewered Trump's complaints about fairness in a statement provided to TPM, which said world leaders certainly won't play by his rules if he becomes President.

Here's the full statement:
We learned from a secret back channel that the Ayatollah and Putin both intend to treat Donald Trump unfairly when they meet with him if he becomes president — a nefarious source tells us that Trump has his own secret plan to replace the Cabinet with his Twitter followers to see if he should even go to those meetings.

General consensus says,
1. advertisers will want their money back with no Trump
2. Moderators will not be able to attack Trump with him not being there
3. all other candidates will lynch Ted Cruz during the debate due to Trump's absence.

Fox Had Set Up Muslim Ambush For Trump

Google and Fox TV Invite Anti-Trump, Hitler-Citing, Muslim Advocate to Join Next GOP TV-Debate

by NEIL MUNRO26 Jan 20164,024
Fox News and Google have invited three YouTube personalities to ask questions at the Jan. 28 GOP debate — including a Muslim advocate who describes Donald Trump as a bigot and who visually portrayed him as being in agreement with national socialist Adolf Hitler.

“We have a presidential candidate whose loudest message reeks of hatred and Islamophobia… turning on the news now is scary, and oftentimes, humiliating,” the Muslim woman, Nabela Noor, says in a December YouTube video.

She admits to becoming a Muslim political activist amid the growing criticism of Islam’s doctrines. “The current social environment for Muslims today is not safe or just… as a Muslim American, I felt like I needed to use my voice,” she claimed.

Noor also urged her YouTube viewers to rally against critics of Islam. “I’m so thankful for those who speak up and out against anti-Islamic speech and ideologies. Our community needs more allies like you, but we have a long way to go,” she said.

The two companies announced Tuesday afternoon that the anti-Trump Muslim advocate would be allowed to play a role in the debate.

Google is teaming up with the Fox News Channel for the final Republican debate in Iowa on Thursday, January 28, 2016, and integrating three new components into the debate to help people get informed before they head to the polls, including a way to hear directly from candidates on Google; real-time Google Trends data; and questions from three of YouTube’s most prominent voices—Nabela Noor, Mark Watson, and Dulce Candy — who will join the moderators in the debate to ask the candidates a question on an issue that matters to them and their communities.

The Republican National Committee also approved the choice of Noor, an LA.-based press aide for YouTube, Jackie Cavanagh, at MPRM Communications, told Breitbart. “I believe” she was chosen by YouTube, with help from the RNC and Fox, she said.

“YouTube creators were selected in collaboration with Fox based on things such as audience size and their ability to bring a new, fresh perspective to the most important issues of our time. Fox informed the party/candidates of the format,” said a p.r. person.

Allison Moore, a press secretary for the RNC, told Breitbart that “We had nothing to do with that.”

Irena Briganti, a spokeswoman for Fox, also did not respond.

In December, Trump announced he would restrict the immigration of Muslims until the jihad problem can be addressed. “It is obvious to anybody the hatred is beyond comprehension. Where this hatred comes from and why we will have to determine. Until we are able to determine and understand this problem and the dangerous threat it poses, our country cannot be the victims of horrendous attacks by people that believe only in Jihad, and have no sense of reason or respect for human life,” said Trump.

The statement came 14 years after Islamic jihadis killed 3,000 Americans and destroyed the Twin Towers in New York, and after many other jihadis launched or tried to launch a series of attacks across the United States.

In her videos, Dulce Candy, the invited Latino questioner, said she was brought from central Mexico to the United States while a young girl. She later joined the U.S. military and served in Iraq. The press announcement described Candy:

With over 2 million subscribers on her YouTube channel, Dulce is a top YouTube beauty, fashion and lifestyle influencer. The only thing more impressive than her fanbase is her story: she immigrated to the United States from Mexico at age 6 and served in the armed forces in Iraq. Today, she’s a proud U.S. citizen, mother, and entrepreneur who serves as a role model for latinas, women, and more.

Noor is described in the company anouncement as well:

Born in New York, Nabela is a 24 year old Muslim American whose parents immigrated from Bangladesh. As an up-and-coming beauty creator with over 140,000 subscribers, Nabela hasn’t shied away from social issues. In a recent video, she spoke about being called a “terrorist” in elementary school after 9/11 and emphasized the importance of tolerance above all.

The perspective of the Muslim woman, Noor, has been shaped by her Bangladeshi immigrant parents, who were paired off by their parents in an arranged marriage as teenagers, aged 17 and 14.

These Bangladeshi Muslim parents migrated to the United States — while hiding am anchor-baby pregnancy — and later kept Noor in the house for many years to prevent her from integrating with American society. “Growing up, we weren’t allowed out much, our parents wanted to preserve our culture at all costs,” she said. They even refused to let her date a man, even after she had gone to college, Noor said in a biographical video. The parents also arranged a marriage for Noor’s older sister. Her mother still wears a head-covering to mark her as a loyal Muslim.

Aspects of Islamic culture remain part of Noor’s personality, under the outward appearance of an American fashionista.

For example, Noor argues that Muslims are individually and collectively insulted when many Americans’ offer sincere and well-argued criticism of Islam’s violent doctrines — for example, jihad, bans against free speech, the death penalty for quitting Islam, sexual subordination of women, opposition to democracy and the separation of mosque and state, etc., etc. That bigoted claim of injury from free speech echoes the demand from orthodox Islam that critics of Islam be silenced – by force if needed – and that the status or honor of each Muslim is damaged if they fail to fight against any criticism of Islam by non-Muslims.

So Noor claimed:

To be hateful and Islamophobic has become so common that it is proudly displayed all around us, online, on the news, and in politics. it is dehumanizing and it hurts. It is hard not to see a bumper sticker of a bigoted presidential candidate and not feel personally attacked when his entire campaign rests on the backs of Muslim-Americans. Where there should be messages of hope and tolerance, there are messages being spread of fear and hate, thus breeding violence.

In contrast, Western Christians and non-Christians try to treat criticism of ideas, such as Christianity’s claim that unborn humans deserve the right to life, or the merits of any particular presidential candidate, as a problem to be solved by facts, logic, free-speech, and compromise. That’s fundamentally different from Noor’s Islamic-style, only-one-winner fight over honor, pride, and supremacy.

That only-one-winner, zero-sum attitude often pushes Muslims to escalate debates into shouting matches and threats. Noor, for example, showed an image linking Trump and Hitler, which suggests that Trump’s criticism of Islam’s jihad ideology is so morally reprehensible that it is equivalent to actually murdering six million Jews, plus at least 10 million Slavic Russians, plus millions of other victims of Hitler’s socialism-for-Aryans Nazi ideology.

In fact, much to the embarrassment of Muslim advocates in the United States, that aggressive aspect of Islam was admired by Jew-hating, left-wing Hitler, who naturally also hated Christianity’s peacefulness, reason and emphasis on individuals’ conscience.

Noor also described criticism of Islam as “Islamophobia,” as if only the existence of a nationwide mental-disease could explain why Americans criticize jihad or child-marriages or the murder of captured Christians or the murders of homosexuals or the murder of a seventh-century poet.

That term, “Islamophobia,” was developed by Islamic advocates to help their allies stigmatize critics of Islam. Generally, Western advocates do not describe their critics as mentally diseased, but as illogical, selfish, or misinformed.

In her video, Noor also tried to argue that Trump’s implied criticism of the violence associated with Islam — likely, including the 9/11 atrocity, the San Bernardino murders, and many other recent jihad attacks — is somehow causing more attacks by Americans against Muslims in America. She did not supply evidence, but did show a newspaper clipping that was actually about a Muslim in Detroit who stabbed two non-Muslims after asking them if they were Muslims.

“Nick Loussia, Deputy Chief of Police for the Southfield Police Department, said [the stabber] ‘is Muslim, and asked the victims what religion they were’ before allegedly attacking them,” said a report at MLive.com.

But Noor portrayed the Muslim-against-not-Muslim jihad attack as actually caused by Americans’ fear of Muslim attacks

“The fear-mongering tactics are a direct cause of hate-violence against Muslims and that makes being a Muslim in America today very, very scary,” she claimed. Noor did not mention any of the many, many, many attacks by Muslims against non-Muslims in America.

She did, however, try to argue that the many Islam-inspired attacks are not Islamic. ‘There are people out there that manipulate our texts to serve their own sick twisted agenda,” she said, without trying to explain how ISIS violates Islamic texts, or trying to disavow the many commandments for jihad in the Koran.

ROGER AILES TURNS TO TRUMP'S WIFE, DAUGHTER TO SALVAGE GOP DEBATE
GOP front-runner will speak only to Rupert Murdoch

Fox News CEO Roger Ailes has allegedly turned to Ivanka and Melania Trump for help salvaging Thursday’s presidential debate.

Republican front-runner Donald Trump dropped out of tomorrow’s debate in Des Moines, Iowa, after the network put out a snarky press release early Tuesday.

Sign up for free news alerts from WND.com, America’s independent news network.

“We learned from a secret back channel that the Ayatollah and Putin both intend to treat Donald Trump unfairly when they meet with him if he becomes president,” the press release said. “A nefarious source tells us that Trump has his own secret plan to replace the Cabinet with his Twitter followers to see if he should even go to those meetings.”

Trump, who has led his Republican rivals since August, said Ailes was “playing games” that he would not tolerate. The turmoil between he and Fox is the latest in a long-running feud over the objectivity of host and debate moderator Megyn Kelly.

Joe Scarborough announced on “Morning Joe” Wednesday that while Fox was publicly standing behind its talent, Ailes called Ivanka and Melania Trump behind the scenes to settle the dispute, the Daily Mail reported.

Donald Trump allegedly would only discuss the matter if media mogul Rupert Murdoch made the call.

Do you support Trump? Tell the world with this magnetic bumper sticker: “DONALD TRUMPS THE REST”

Trump’s decision may have caused a domino effect with his rivals. The billionaire plans to host an event for wounded veterans in lieu of the debate, and his opponents appear interested in taking part.

“I had a number of calls yesterday with some of the other campaigns who said, hey, can we come and join you in raising money for the wounded warriors, for veterans because, you know, if Fox isn’t going to be fair to you, what makes you think they’re going to be fair to us,” Trump campaign manager Corey Lewandowski said on “Good Morning America” on Wednesday, Breitbart News reported.

Lewandowski added that Fox wants to “have 24 million people tune in to watch Donald Trump so that their anchors can have the story about them.”

Kelly maintains she has always been “fair and balanced,” going back to the network’s Aug. 6 debate where she asked Trump about his interpersonal skills with women.

“I maintain it was a tough but fair question,” Kelly reiterated Tuesday night.

Fox’s Greta Van Susteren polled her “Gretawire” viewers on Tuesday to see who would tune into the upcoming debate without Trump. The results, although unscientific, were overwhelming: 85.9 percent (14,209) of respondents said they would not watch the debate compared to 14.1 percent (2,333) who would.

RUSH: Okay, where are we on the situation here with Trump and the debate? So far Trump says he's not showing up. He claims he's not showing up because Megyn Kelly is going to continue to be a moderator. And if you believe that, I can give you substantive reasons. And it's all in The Art of the Deal. Trump is not that hard to understand if you pay attention to him and read his books. In The Art of the Deal, one of the things that he makes a huge deal about is being able to know when to walk away and have the guts and the courage to do it.
Trump is so far outside the formula that has been established for American politics that people who are inside the formula can't comprehend it. They don't understand why somebody would want to venture so far outside it, because it is what it is, and there's a ladder of success that you have to climb. And somebody challenging it like this in more ways than one, as Trump is doing, has just got everybody experiencing every kind of emotion you can: They're angry, they are flabbergasted, they're shocked, they're stunned -- and all of it because he's leading.

...

Trump is so far outside this game, he's so far outside the rules, he's never been a player in this game. He's always been an outsider. I heard people on Fox last night talking about this. "Who does he think he is? He can't control the media." I got news for you: He is controlling the media, and it's his objective. He is controlling the media. He controls the media when he's not on it. He controls the media when he is on it. He controls the media when he's asleep. Nobody else has been able to do anything like this short of the Kennedys, and they're pikers compared to the way Trump is doing this.

lol

That is really some good spew from Rush, I suggest reading all of it. You WILL be entertained.

Limbaugh scorches Fox News in debate dispute with Trump Rush: Network 'acting as if they had been jilted at the altar'“Fox News was acting as if they had been jilted at the altar,” Limbaugh said on his national broadcast Wednesday.
“Donald Trump knows that by not showing up, he’s owning the entire event. Some guy not even present will end up owning the entire event. And the proof of that is Fox News last night.”

The radio host portrayed Trump as an “outsider” who has never played by the rules of the game established by the news media.
“He’s outside the game. He’s breaking all the rules. He’s exposing so much as fraud that has gone on inside the American political process for so long,” Limbaugh explained.

And though the so-called rules of the media’s game suggest a candidate has to appear on their airwaves,
Trump is not bowing down and paying homage to the powers that be.

Limbaugh made no bones about portraying Fox News and the rest of the news media as the bad guys in this game of power:
“The media run this game. The media are never to blame for anything that goes wrong. They have total immunity where this all is concerned. The media in their minds and the way everybody plays the game, you have to go through the media to get where you want to go if you are in politics. You have to, and you have to bite your lip along the way. And if you don’t, then you have made a perpetual enemy of people as goes the saying, who buy ink by the barrel.”
Limbaugh channeled Trump’s likely thoughts on how the Republican front-runner is dealing with the princes of the airwaves, saying:
“Who says I have to go through you? Who says I have to look good according to what you say? Who says I have to get to the American people through you? Why can’t I just do my own event?
Buy my own microphone, my own camera, my own time, and talk to the American people without you. It seems to me a lot more efficient and more importantly, I control it. And I don’t have to deal with people maybe misrepresenting me or putting me in a bad light.”
Limbaugh added, “The other players in the game who have always abided by these rules are shocked and dismayed that somebody would mock the game this way.”

Trump schedules event to rival Fox News debate
By Neetzan Zimmerman

Donald Trump has made good on his threat to schedule his own event at the same time as Thursday's GOP presidential debate on Fox News.

The Republican front-runner, who said Tuesday he would skip the debate over a feud with the network, sent out special invitations Wednesday afternoon to a Donald J. Trump Special Event to Benefit Veterans Organizations. The event will be held at 9 p.m. EST at Drake University in Des Moines at the same time his rivals will take the main debate stage just three miles away.
The real estate mogul's campaign said Tuesday he would sit out the debate due to concerns about “bias” from Fox News anchor and debate moderator Megyn Kelly.

But Trump blamed a statement the network issued for his choice not to participate, insisting it wasn't the Kelly feud.

At a pre-rally press conference Tuesday, Trump told reporters he planned to organize a charity event for the Wounded Warrior Project to help injured war veterans, but it remained unclear if the organization was involved in the special event unveiled Wednesday.

Trump campaign manager Corey Lewandowski said on Laura Ingraham's radio program that the event would be used to raise funds for multiple veterans organizations.

Lewandowski didn't offer details about when planning for the event started.

Cruz to Trump: Show up on Thursday or you’re disrespecting Iowans
POSTED AT 12:01 PM ON JANUARY 27, 2016 BY ALLAHPUNDIT

A sneak preview of what you’ll hear from Cruz on Thursday night in the highly unlikely event that Trump doesn’t show. You’ll find all the points you’d expect in the clip below: Trump is snubbing Iowans by skipping the debate; Trump is too mercurial to be president; Trump is afraid to defend his record from Cruz; and the ever-popular “I’ll debate you one-on-one anywhere” challenge that’s never worked in all of political history. Depending on how daring Cruz wants to be, you may hear a variation on this point on Thursday night too:

Read Letter Ted Cruz Just Sent Donald Trump Formally Inviting Him to One-On-One Debate
Jan. 27, 2016 9:34pm Oliver Darcy

Republican presidential candidate Ted Cruz sent a letter to 2016 rival Donald Trump late Wednesday, formally challenging the billionaire businessman to a one-on-one debate this Saturday.

Cruz’s campaign said a space had been reserved at the Western Iowa Tech Community College in Sioux City for a debate to take place at 8:00 p.m.

“We owe it to the men and women of Iowa to ensure that they hear jointly and directly from the two leading Republican candidates so that they may contrast our positions on the critical issues we face as a nation as they make their final choice leading up to Monday’s caucuses,” Cruz said in a press release.

“We owe it to the men and women of Iowa…”

The Texas senator suggested radio hosts Mark Levin, Sean Hannity or Rush Limbaugh moderate the debate — or offered to face-off with him one-on-one and simply take questions from the audience.

Here’s the full letter Cruz sent Trump:

Dear Donald,

We owe it to the men and women of Iowa to ensure that they hear jointly and directly from the two leading Republican candidates so that they may contrast our positions on the critical issues we face as a nation as they make their final choice leading up to Monday’s caucuses.

Accordingly, please accept this invitation to join me at an in-person, two-hour Town Hall event at Western Iowa Tech Community College in Sioux City this Saturday, January 30th at 8:00 p.m. Central. This venue is already reserved and I would propose that our campaigns evenly divide available seating/ticketing. Our teams can jointly work on the logistical details.

Additionally, I propose one of the following three individuals serve as a Town Hall facilitator: Mark Levin, Sean Hannity or Rush Limbaugh. If none of these proposed individuals are acceptable to you, I suggest that instead we alternate in fielding direct questions from the audience.

I look forward to your timely response.

Ted

Earlier Wednesday, Trump’s campaign manager Corey Lewandowski seemingly dismissed the idea of a one-on-one debate before the Iowa caucus. Lewandowski only said Trump would be happy to debate Cruz if the race ultimately withered down to just them two.

Trump sent shockwaves rippling through the political community when he announced Tuesday he would not participate in the Fox News debate — the final debate for Monday’s Iowa caucus.

Cruz backers to Trump: We'll donate to vets if you debate Cruz
Teddy Schleifer
By Theodore Schleifer, CNN
Updated 10:31 PM ET, Wed January 27, 2016 | Video Source: CNN

West Des Moines, Iowa (CNN)Ted Cruz and his allies hoped to escalate their attempted game of chicken on Wednesday night, offering Trump a $1.5 million prize and extending him a formal invitation to come debate Cruz one-on-one in the final nights before the Iowa caucuses.

Two of the biggest megadonors behind Cruz's presidential ambitions offered personal donations to Trump's favorite veterans' charities if the businessman agreed to face the Texas senator. The dare comes on the eve of the next Republican debate in Des Moines, Iowa, which Trump has pledged to not attend.

The Trump campaign did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

Cruz has criticized Trump since he said he was skipping Thursday's debate.

On Wednesday evening, Cruz got specific with the debate challenge he extended a day earlier, inviting him to match in a "Mano-a-Mano" event this Saturday at Western Iowa Tech University in Sioux City at 8 p.m.

"We have a venue. We have a time. All we're missing is a candidate," Cruz told a ballroom crowd. "It's not that he's afraid of me. He's afraid of you. He doesn't want to answer questions from the men and women of Iowa about how his record doesn't match what he's selling."

Immediately after Cruz finished his remarks, his campaign wrote Trump a formal invitation, saying it "anxiously awaits" Trump's reply.

Cruz appeared more willing than ever to needle Trump from the stage, saying that Trump had not been in the fray during the seven big conservative fights of the past three years. And Cruz repeated belittled Trump as a "fragile soul."

"You know, I said everyone would say they oppose Obamacare, but there's actually one candidate on that stage -- well, actually technically speaking now not on that stage -- who doesn't say that," Cruz said. "Donald is entitled to have that view. You might even call that view a New York value. You know, as Donald might observe, both he and Bernie Sanders are native New Yorkers."

Cruz christened Trump's health care plan as "Trumpcare," saying it is effectively no different from the plan of Democratic candidate Bernie Sanders.

Trump has said he won't participate in Fox News' debate on Thursday because of alleged bias of one of the moderators, Megyn Kelly. But the latest pitch for a face-off with Cruz came not from the candidate himself, but from the families of Toby Neugebauer and Robert Mercer, who together have invested $21 million in super PACs supporting Cruz.

"Senator Cruz and Mr. Trump both respect the veterans and hold them in the highest regard but Senator Cruz respects the process and we are calling on Mr. Trump to do the same and debates are the purest form of democracy," the donors said in a statement. "Iowans -- and Americans -- deserve to hear from the front-runners in this 'two-man race' one last time."

The gift to the veterans' organizations would only come if the two debated on or before this Sunday in Iowa; if it only featured Trump and Cruz; if the moderator was picked by the candidates; and if the event lasted for one hour, the super PACs, together called Keep the Promise, said.

Put Up Or Shut Up: Ted Cruz Challenges Trump To "Mano-A-Mano" Throwdown For $1.5 Million
Tyler Durden's pictureSubmitted by Tyler Durden on 01/28/2016 12:19 -0500

"I promise you Putin is a lot scarier than Megyn Kelly.”
That’s from Ted Cruz, who mocked Donald Trump for boycotting the last GOP debate before the Iowa caucuses.

For anyone who somehow managed to miss it, Trump “isn’t bothering” with the event thanks to the fact that Fox anchor Megyn Kelly is one of the moderators.

The two famously clashed during the first Republican debate when Kelly dared to ask Trump whether he thought calling women “disgusting animals” was language befitting of a US President. In an effort to prove just how “presidential” he really was, Trump later suggested that the reason Kelly asked tough questions was that she may have had “blood coming out of her wherever.”

It’s been all down hill from there and you can find a timeline of the ongoing feud below courtesy of The Hill.

As far as Thursday’s GOP debate goes, it wasn’t enough for Trump to boycott the event. Although he’s convinced no one will be watching because he won’t be on the stage, Trump wants to ruin it altogether by hosting his own event at the same time.

“Donald Trump intensified his feud with Fox News just days before Iowa kicks off the presidential nominations contest, saying he will hold a rogue event Thursday while Republican rivals take part in a debate without him,” AFP reports adding that the brazen billionaire is “twisting the knife” by holding a "special event" to benefit veterans groups.

At the same time as the debate.

And in the same city.

Speaking of veterans, Ted Cruz has a proposal for Trump. "The super PACs supporting Ted Cruz are offering $1.5 million to veterans charities if Donald Trump agrees to debate Cruz one-on-one before the Iowa caucus, heightening the stakes around Cruz's proposal just five days before the Iowa caucus," NBC said on Thursday.

"Not only would this be a heck of a debate, but it would also be a terrific opportunity to generate millions of dollars for the veterans," the Cruz campaign said on Wednesday night. "We’ll do 90 minutes, Lincoln Douglas, mano a mano. Donald and me. He can lay out his vision or this country, and I can lay out my vision for this country in front of the men and women of Iowa,” he added.

Cruz even reserved an 800-seat venue in Sioux City on Saturday night in hopes he can convince Trump to show up.

But Trump isn't taking the bait. " If Cruz is the last man standing and it comes down to a two-person race Donald Trump will be happy to debate him," the Trump campaign said. Trump himself wasn't nearly as "PC":

Upping the ante, I'm free tomorrow at 8pm, @realDonaldTrump. My campaign will give $2mm to veterans' cause to debate at Drake U. (2/2)
10:33 PM - 27 Jan 2016
Carly Fiorina also made Trump an offer, saying she'd put up $2 million for a one-on-one debate and $1.5 million for a three way debate with Trump and Cruz.

Cruz also took to Twitter to poke fun at Trump's decision to back out of Thursday night's event.

In the wake of Donald Trump's announcement that he would not participate in the Jan. 28 GOP debate because Megyn Kelly is moderating, Kelly has been subjected to a barrage of misogynistic abuse online.

It's disgusting and depressing, but not at all surprising, for two reasons: Because many people (read: trolls) feel empowered to talk to women online in a degrading, abusive way, and because Trump's campaign is built on misogyny. Trump has trolled Kelly since August, and now his supporters are following his lead.

Mike Huckabee, Rick Santorum Want to Join Donald Trump Veterans Event

GOP presidential candidates former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee and former Pennsylvania Sen. Rick Santorum, who are participating in the earlier GOP debate on Thursday, say they want to attend GOP frontrunner Donald Trump’s event on Thursday night for veterans rather than the primetime GOP debate hosted by Fox News.

Huckabee was asked if he would attend, and the former Baptist minister admitted, “We’ve put in a call to [Trump’s] people and said that I’d be delighted to come.”

Huckabee, who hasn’t heard back, said, “If they say that they would be happy to have me, I’ll be there.”

Santorum also expressed interest in Trump’s event, saying, “After the debate, I’m not going to be doing anything, so, I guess, if it’s a charitable thing for the troops and he invites other people to come, I certainly would attend to support the troops.”

Santorum has not yet received a formal invitation to join.

Both Santorum and Huckabee showed willingness to join Trump at Drake University for the event during an interview on The Laura Ingraham Show.

2:30 EST UPDATE-

Santorum is now going too, according to the New York Times.

No panties and shaved? Her face in the GQ would not get my approval but if drunk the above pic would. I'm just a simple man.

I agree with MR, I don't really find her that attractive, maybe it has something to do with her arrogant personality, but just superficially, there are a lot of better looking women out there

If you count her face she is pretty gross to me. I might have had high standards back then but even today I would call that gross. Sorry but I call them as I see them.

She's armed.

You'd be stupid to fuck with her.

I don't recall a presidential election as entertaining as this one!

'Every time she blinks there is a breeze!' Witty Twitter users lash out at Megyn Kelly over the 'ridiculous' and 'over-the-top' eyelashes she modeled during the debate
