Yeah, the first one did get busted up in a hurricane. I guess he patched it back together and continued on.

I should have posted this video first, but I hadn't seen it til just now. I think this vid shows his first iteration and it sort of shows how he built it.

I think he is a genius and it's a great concept, one just has to be prepared to loose it all to the whims of mother nature.

Perhaps if one were to build such a thing on a protected inland lake.

Or, other people build their own Islands and float over to his, lashing together to create a larger cluster, with each Island able to shift around, creating inner lagoons where the water is calmer. Eventually building a floating Island country of independent movable personal states.

Say, some asshole lashes onto your island. Just unlash and float over to a more congenial location across one of the many lagoons. :)
