Free-Market Analysis: The above excerpt from Dr. Brownstein's blog focuses on an inquiry into contaminated water in Flint. But in subsequent paragraphs, Dr. Brownstein makes the point that Congress is a good deal more eager to investigate lead contamination than a link between autism and vaccines.
The point of the blog in particular is that in August 2014, senior CDC researcher Dr. William Thompson attempted to claim whistleblower status regarding a 2004 paper from the fedgov's Centers for Disease Control and Prevention that showed CDC autism conclusions were fraudulent. Specifically, this paper found a correlation between vaccines and autism.

The very same U.S. House Oversight and Government Reform Committee has refused to call a hearing about another health crisis—whether or not childhood vaccines cause autism.
According to Dr. Thompson, the CDC researchers actually found that the MMR vaccine, when given before 36 months of age (it is presently recommended at 12-15 months and again at five years) was significantly correlated with the development of autism. However, the CDC, in a closed door meeting, altered the data to hide their findings.
... You would think that the U.S. House Oversight and Government Reform Committee would, upon finding out a senior CDC researcher and author of a crucial paper admitted altering and hiding data, immediately call for a hearing on the matter. Well, you would think wrong.
The vaccine debate has been simmering for years but this CDC paper would seem to be a kind of "smoking gun" that could change the course of the current conversation.
Unfortunately, the House has declined to act and there is not much publicity about the paper, either. Dr. Brownstein writes that, "There have been no articles in the NYTs or the WSJ or nearly any other media site except Newsmax.com."
The irony incites him. "Where is the outrage here?" he asks. And why is Congress reluctant to hear from an obvious whistleblower? Importantly, "Why don't more doctors call for a full hearing on this matter?"
Here at The Daily Bell we often write about what we call the "Internet Reformation (http://www.thedailybell.com/definitions/params/id/2195/)" and how information revealed on the Internet is changing the way modern society operates. The 2000s are not the 1900s and many elite memes (http://www.thedailybell.com/definitions/params/id/654/) have lost considerable credibility, including, certainly, the one regarding the universal efficacy of vaccines.
The pharmaceutical industry in particular is trying to combat questions about vaccines through various methods. But apparently vaccines are causing so much childhood damage that – given the Internet's unique communication abilities – parents continue to come forward with their stories. Each reinforces the other and many are publicly noted and have an impact.
Yes, the mainstream media silence lingers over the apparent autism-vaccine connection, but one would think not forever. And it probably isn't merely autism. Vaccines may work, at least in some cases, as suggested. But too many vaccines given too closely together seem obviously injurious.
Conclusion: Eventually these issues will be explored in an open "mainstream" forum. Proponents of the current vaccine regime ought to get out of the way. No coverup this big lasts forever.

An investigation was launched into vaccines used at a UK school for boys after several students fell ill from receiving the jabs.
As many as 15 Year 10 students at the Northampton School for Boys collapsed onto the floor Tuesday following a series of vaccines which resulted in severe adverse side effects.
As one mother who preferred to remain anonymous described: “Several different vaccines were being administered, and around 10 to 15 pupils keeled over and paramedics were called.”
Children were also witnessed “on their backs on the floor with their legs up on chairs,” the mom said.
“The rest of the jabs were cancelled and a letter was sent home to the parents of pupils who had been given the jabs about what to do if they felt nauseous. Rumours say there may have been a duff batch of vaccines,” the woman said, according to the Daily Mail (http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-3419025/Paramedics-called-vaccinated-pupils-Northampton-School-Boys-faint.html).
At least one child was sent to emergency care as a precaution, but was “later discharged with no further effects,” according to a letter sent home to parents.
The letter blamed “unforeseen circumstances” for the complications, and advised parents to monitor their child’s health, specifically looking for signs of dizziness, nausea or skin rash:

“Dear Parent/Carer, please be advised the immunisation session your child attended today was suspended due to unforeseen circumstances,” the letter reads.
“Some of the vaccinated children have become unwell shortly after vaccination. Your child has received their scheduled vaccination and, while we are not expecting him to become unwell, we are advising if he experiences sensations of dizziness, nausea, skin rash, or breathing difficulties to seek the appropriate medical advice.”
UK public health officials responded that the illnesses which followed administration of the Meningitis ACWY vaccines were an “isolated incident” and not the result of a bad batch, indicating no further investigation is required and that the vaccine program will continue at a later date.
“Public Health England are satisfied this is an isolated incident and is not related to a batch issue of the vaccines,” a message disseminated by the Northamptonshire Healthcare Foundation Trust said in a statement. “NHFT School nursing team contacted all parents/carers to inform them of the situation providing assurances of the steps taken and will be rescheduling the vaccination programme in due course.”

Additionally, side effects up to and including death have been reported to the Vaccine Adverse Events Reporting System regarding meningococcal vaccines produced for serotypes A, C, Y and W-135.

Two drugmakers have made a practice of buying and then dramatically hiking the prices of low-cost drugs given to patients with life-threatening conditions including heart disease, AIDS and cancer, according to excerpts from thousands of documents released by federal lawmakers.
A congressional review of more than 300,000 pages from Turing Pharmaceuticals (http://www.turingpharma.com/) and Valeant Pharmaceuticals (http://www.valeant.com/) reveals how executives planned to maximize profits while fending off negative publicity over the price hikes.
Rep. Elijah Cummings (D-Maryland) released the information Tuesday ahead of a hearing Thursday to examine exorbitant price spikes. Cummings has used his position atop the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform (https://oversight.house.gov/) to investigate several companies that have bought previously low-cost drugs and jacked up their prices many times over.
The Democrat said in a statement that the documents show "that many drug companies are lining their pockets at the expense of some of the most vulnerable families in our nation."
When reached Tuesday, Valeant and Turing said they're committed to ensuring that cost isn't a deterrent for patients.
At the center of the investigation is Turing's former CEO Martin Shkreli, who became the poster child of pharmaceutical-industry greed last fall for hiking the price of a life-saving drug by more than 5,000 percent. That drug, Daraprim, is the only approved medication for a parasitic infection which mainly strikes patients with weakened immune systems, including those with cancer and AIDS. The patent on the drug expired decades ago.
Company presentations released Tuesday show that as early as last May, Turing planned to turn Daraprim into a $200-million-a-year drug by dramatically increasing its price. Turing purchased the six-decade-old drug from Impax Laboratories in August for $55 million and promptly raised its price.
Shkreli said in an email to one contact: "We raised the price from $1,700 per bottle to $75,000. Should be a very handsome investment for all of us."
But anticipating a possible backlash, the company warned in an internal memo: "HIV patient advocacy may react to price increase ... HIV community is highly organized, sensitive and action-oriented."
The price increase left some patients with co-pays as high as $16,000, according to the committee's review of more than 250,000 pages of documents from New York-based Turing.
Turing said Tuesday in an emailed statement that it is "committed to ensuring that no patient will ever be denied access to Daraprim because of cost."
In addition, the House committee reviewed more than 75,000 pages of documents from Canadian drugmaker Valeant. A memo summarizing the documents said the paperwork shows that CEO J. Michael Pearson decided to buy two life-saving heart drugs, Nitropress and Isuprel, to dramatically hike prices and drive up his company's revenue and profit.
The drugs treat abnormal heart rhythms, congestive heart failure and high blood pressure. Laval, Quebec-based Valeant Pharmaceuticals International Inc. bought the drugs for $350 million from Marathon Pharmaceuticals about a year ago and then tripled the price for one and increased the other six-fold. The memo to members of the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform from staff members noted that this came a couple years after Marathon imposed its own, steep price hikes.
The memo also said Valeant identified revenue goals first and then used drug prices to reach those goals, with the drugmaker believing it could repeatedly hike the prices of Isuprel and Nitropress without repercussions because those drugs are administered by hospitals, which are less sensitive to prices than consumers
The drugs generated $547 million in revenue and around $351 million in profits last year alone. The memo said the drugmaker also more than tripled the prices on over 20 additional U.S. products in 2014 and 2015.
Valeant used patient assistance programs to distract attention and justify its price hikes, the memo noted. It cited correspondence from Valeant marketing executive Jeff Strauss, who reviewed a company response to a customer who complained about price increases. Strauss noted that Valeant was providing the drug to patients at a minimal cost of no more than $25 for a 30-day supply.
"Kind of hard to paint us as greedy if we have removed financial barriers for patients," Strauss wrote.
When asked about the congressional report, Valeant said it expected that its future growth will be driven more by sales volume than pricing. The drugmaker said it now offers a 30-percent, volume-based discount on the prices of Nitropress and Isuprel. It didn't say how much customers had to buy to trigger the discount.
It also is offering discounts on some drugs through a distribution agreement it entered with the drugstore chain Walgreens Boots Alliance Inc. (http://www.walgreensbootsalliance.com/)
On Thursday, the House Committee is scheduled to hear testimony from Turing's chief commercial officer, Nancy Retzlaff and Valeant Pharmaceutical's interim CEO, Howard Schiller. Schiller was appointed to the position last month after Pearson was hospitalized with severe pneumonia.
Shkreli said in a television interview Tuesday that he plans to take the Fifth Amendment to avoid answering questions at the hearing, but added he'd like to "berate" and "insult" lawmakers.
The 32-year-old former hedge fund manager was recently charged with of securities fraud and conspiracy related to another pharmaceutical company he ran before founding Turing.

My sister suffered from alzheimer's. When she passed away my niece sent out an email to family and friends that had a link to a webpage she and her half sister have put together to seek a cure for Alzheimer's and autism. I wasn't aware, but my niece's half sister's son developed autism 18 years ago after being vaccinated.
