If Trump doesn't win this then I'll know for sure the elections are completely rigged against him.

He should be winning in a landslide. No one is going to vote for Ted Cruz outside of Glenn Beck and a few of his followers.

Mark Zuckerberg Warns Iowa Ahead of Vote to Reject Trump
by JULIA HAHN1 Feb 2016Washington D.C.2,892

As first-in-the-nation Iowa voters prepare to caucus, open borders financier Mark Zuckerberg weighed in on the race through the president of his powerful immigration lobbying firm, FWD.us.

In a Monday CNBC interview, FWD.us President Todd Schulte made clear his view that Iowans should reject the candidacy of Donald Trump.

Zuckerberg’s spokesman Schulte told CNBC’s Sqawk Alley:

For the first time, a major party [is] putting forth people who are saying they are going to round up and deport 11.5 million people; they’re going to eliminate high-skilled immigration… And look, that may get you a win or second place in the Iowa caucuses. That is just a horrible and fatal position in a general election.

Shulte elaborated just a few hours ago with more attacks on the GOP frontrunner. Schulte tweeted: “Trump’s a hack, runs for [sic] policy specifics. Be it immigration, trade, foreign policy – answer is always he’s a strongman, others are weak.”

Schulte continued: “On immigration, he wandered into something awful that credentialed past apostasies as ok – rounding up every last undocumented immigrant.”

Zuckerberg’s FWD.us is also backed by tech giant Bill Gates. Gates has argued for the unlimited admission of foreign workers authorized to take American jobs.

FWD.us is also backed by other supporters of mass immigration, such as Google’s Eric Schmidt and former Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer.

Todd Schulte was named president of the organization in September of last year after his predecessor, Joe Greene, was reportedly “forced” out after revealing his organization’s apparent view that foreign workers are better than Americans.

This is not the first time Zuckerberg’s lobbying firm has attacked the GOP frontrunner.

Ahead of September’s CNN GOP debate, Zuckerberg’s immigration firm released an attack ad targeting Donald Trump, in which the lobbying group lectured the Republican Party on the need to pass so-called “immigration reform,” by which FWD.us means mass amnesty combined with more foreign workers on visas for big businesses.

Similarly, following the release of Donald Trump’s immigration policy paper last summer, Schulte wrote a blog post on the FWD.us website in which he described Trump supporters as “hard-line anti-immigrant restrictionists” who “rant that immigrants are taking jobs away from ‘real’ Americans.”

The number of immigrants in the U.S. is currently at a record high of more than 42 million. Nearly 1 in 7 U.S. residents was born in a foreign country. In eight years time, the foreign born share of the U.S. population will reach an all-time high. If Silicon Valley’s lobbying efforts prove successful, that record will be shattered with even greater force and rapidity.

There is simply no historical precedent for the pace of immigration transforming American communities and economic structures since the Kennedy-backed immigration rewrite in 1965 opened up the American visa to the entire globe.

In his immigration reform plan, Donald Trump directly took on the foreign worker policies being pushed by Mark Zuckerberg and other GOP donors. Trump wrote, “Real immigration reform puts the needs of working people first – not wealthy globetrotting donors.” Trump went on to describe Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL), whose immigration expansion bills have been endorsed by FWD.us, “as Mark Zuckerberg’s personal Senator.”

http://www.cbsnews.com/news/republicans-see-a-tight-three-way-race-in-iowa-caucuses/

For those who say that whether their candidate wins in November matters in their decision on whom to support, 38 percent support Rubio, 26 percent support Trump, and 17 percent support Cruz. Rubio picked up on that support in his speech after the results were announced.

"Tonight we have taken the first step, but an important step, toward winning the election," he said. "When I am the nominee we are going to unify this party and we are going to unify the conservative movement." He pledged that he would beat Democrats Hillary Clinton or Bernie Sanders or "whoever they nominate."

Trump had been performing best among caucus attendees who have no college degree, notching 42 percent of those voters. Cruz is doing better among evangelicals, with support of 26 percent of that vote, but Trump is also putting up a strong showing with 24 percent of that vote. Twelve percent of evangelicals said they were supporting neurosurgeon Ben Carson, allowing him to cut into Cruz's base.

White evangelicals represent about 60 percent of GOP caucus goers today, compared to 56 percent in 2012.

A senior staffer for Cruz told CBS News producer Arden Farhi that the campaign was exceeding their vote goals in numerous counties across the state, so they "feel good."
Follow along with live results from the Iowa caucuses

Entrance polls showed Trump doing very well among voters who say they want a president who "tells it like it is," garnering 68 percent of those votes, and among those who want someone who can "bring needed change," picking up 37 percent of those votes. He was also the top pick among the half of GOP caucus-goers who were looking for an outsider: 49 percent of those caucus-goers picked Trump, while 16 percent picked Carson and 16 percent picked Cruz.

Rubio appeared to have picked up some support among late-deciding voters and is doing best among those who say they decided who to support in the last week. Forty-five percent of those surveyed in entrance polls said they made their choice in the past week, and Rubio scored 28 percent of those votes. 23 percent went to Cruz and just 14 percent to Trump. But Trump supporters said they made up their minds more than a month ago.
Republican entrance poll data

Just 15 percent of Republican caucus attendees identified as moderate, and Trump is winning big among that group with 38 percent of the vote. Rubio is a distance second with 17 percent support. Thirty-nine percent of voters identify as very conservative (a drop from 2012, when it was 47 percent), and 45 percent identify as somewhat conservative, an increase from 2012 (when it was 37 percent).

Trump's pitch to voters at St. Francis of Assisi church in West Des Moines was a reflection of his usual stump speech. He told the caucus attendees, "We don't win anymore as a country, we used to win, we don't win with the military, we don't win in the border, we don't win in any way."

"We're going to take our country back, we're going to run it the way it's supposed to be run, as a great great country. We're not going to make the mistakes," he said.

The most important issues for GOP caucus attendees are government spending (31 percent) the economy (28 percent), terrorism (25 percent), and immigration (13 percent).

I don't think he lost on purpose, but I also agree that he focused a significantly smaller percentage of his time in Iowa compared to most of the other candidates.

I think the big takeaway from this loss is that the Trump campaign will not trust the polls as much in the future. They will put more work and money into ground operations going forward. Previously they assumed that high poll numbers would negate the need to go through the traditional ground operations.

Everyone I know who is right-wing supports Trump. I literally don't know anyone personally who supports Cruz or Rubio.

To put it simply, the votes were rigged as fuck, or the people in Iowa are completely retarded.

Probably a mix of both.

John Cleese says political correctness has gone too far, especially on America's college campuses, where he will no longer go to perform. As BigThink reports (http://bigthink.com/videos/john-cleese-on-political-correctness), the very essence of his trade — comedy — is criticism and that not infrequently means hurt feelings. But protecting everyone from negative emotion all the time is not only impractical (one can't control the feelings of another), but also improper in a free society.
Cleese, having worked with psychiatrist Robin Skynner, says there may even be something more sinister behind the insistence to be always be politically correct.

"If you start to say we mustn't, we mustn't criticize or offend them then humor is gone. With humor goes a sense of proportion. And then as far as I'm concerned you're living in 1984."
157 seconds of Python-esque reality from Mr Cleese on just how silly all this PC-ness really is...

To clarify, are you saying he is Jewish because you say his wife is Jewish but not Trump himself?Because so many Jews are Marranos (Crypto-Jews) and because Jews do not readily intermarry with goyim, especially the upper echelons, the fact that his wives were Jewesses is indicative that he is a Jew himself.

Choosing a presidential running mate is a carefully crafted political decision. But as this video demonstrates, a number of Hillary Clinton supporters would be more than happy if she chose a long-dead philosopher, especially as he is one who probably would not be her biggest fan.Mark Dice has a habit of tricking people into revealing their political ignorance. Last June, he convinced dozens of pedestrians to sign a petition to preemptively nuke Russia. In July, he posted a video showing Americans who are woefully misinformed about the beginnings of their own country.

Now he’s up to his old tricks, convincing supporters of Democratic presidential hopeful Hillary Clinton that economic philosopher Karl Marx will be her choice for Vice President.
That Marx is a German and has been dead for over 100 years doesn’t seem to deter voters.

Is This How Rubio Got 23%?
Source: Breitbart (http://www.breitbart.com/big-government/2016/01/31/one-marco-rubios-biggest-financial-backers-tally-iowa-caucuses/)

Microsoft Corp. will be providing the technology to count the votes of Iowa caucus-goers, according to a new report.
Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT)
16%

’s campaign is raising concerns about the corporation’s potential conflict of interest in tallying the votes.
As The Hill reports (http://thehill.com/policy/technology/267586-microsoft-on-the-hot-seat-in-iowa):

Microsoft volunteered to provide the technology to help tally up the results of Iowa’s caucus, free of charge… The contests in both parties are expected to go down to the wire… Pete D’Alessandro, who runs the Sanders operation in Iowa, last week questioned the tech giant’s motivations… Other aides to Sanders noted that Microsoft employees have donated hundreds of thousands of dollars to the Clinton campaign, according to MSNBC. “You’d have to ask yourself why they’d want to give something like that away for free,” D’Alessandro said.
The Sanders campaign’s suggestion that Microsoft may have financial interests at stake in the outcome of the race is true for both parties.
As conservative columnist Michelle Malkin pointed out last month, “Microsoft, founded by leading H-1B/amnesty cheerleader Bill Gates, has been [Marco] Rubio’s No. 2 corporate donor the past five years.”
As Breitbart News has previously reported (http://www.breitbart.com/immigration/2015/10/31/marco-rubios-new-billionaire-backer-top-funder-open-borders/), according to Open Secrets, Microsoft is the second largest contributor (https://www.opensecrets.org/politicians/contrib.php?cid=N00030612&cycle=2016) to
Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL)
79%

’s campaign committee since 2011, donating $33,100.
Microsoft founder Bill Gates is a member of Mark Zuckerberg’s immigration lobbying firmFWD.us (http://fwd.us/) and former Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer is a co-chair of the immigration lobbying firm the Partnership for a New American Economy—along with Fox News’s founder (http://www.breitbart.com/big-government/2016/01/26/anti-trump-network-fox-news-money-flows-open-borders-group/) Rupert Murdoch.
Both immigration lobbying firms have endorsed and lobbied for Marco Rubio’s 2015 immigration expansion bill—known as the Immigration Innovation Act, or I-Sqaured—which would have tripled the issuances (http://www.breitbart.com/big-government/2015/10/29/rubio-blames-the-victim-foreign-tech-workers-more-qualified-than-americans/) of low-wage H-1B guest worker visas.
According to USCIS data analyzed by ComputerWorld’s Patrick Thibodeau, Microsoft is the 12th biggest user of the H-1B program—having brought in 1,048 foreign workers on H-1Bs in 2013.
Microsoft’s reliance upon imported foreign labor comes at a time of large-scale layoffs for the corporation. In 2014, Microsoft announced (http://www.washingtonexaminer.com/as-tech-giant-calls-for-more-foreign-workers-senate-hears-of-displaced-americans/article/2561766) its plans to lay off 18,000 workers at the same time the company was lobbying to increase the H-1B program, prompting strong condemnation (http://www.nationalreview.com/article/387726/dont-give-masters-universe-their-amnesty-jeff-sessions) from U.S.
Sen. Jeff Sessions (R-AL)
80%

, a top opponent of Marco Rubio’s H-1B expansion plan.
In 2007, Bill Gates even testified (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vg0wCam2oDc) before Congress and called for an unlimited number skilled foreign workers—particularly in engineering—to be admitted into the country. “My basic view is that the country should welcome as many of those people as we can get,” Gates declared (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vg0wCam2oDc). “Even though it may not be realistic, I don’t think there should be any limit.”
However, according to U.S. census data there are more than 11 million Americans with degrees in Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) who lack employment in these fields. In fact, U.S. schools are graduating two times more students with STEM degrees than are annually finding employment in these fields.
In a 2014 USA Today op-ed titled, (http://www.usatoday.com/story/opinion/2014/07/27/bill-gates-tech-worker-wages-reforms-employment-column/13243305/) “Bill Gates Tech Worker Fantasy,” labor experts explained that the tech labor market—contrary to Gates’s claims—is currently over saturated, which has resulted in lower wages for America’s tech workers:

Business executives and politicians endlessly complain that there is a “shortage” of qualified Americans and that the U.S. must admit more high-skilled guest workers to fill jobs in STEM fields: science, technology, engineering and math. This claim is echoed by everyone from President Obama and Rupert Murdoch to Mark Zuckerberg and Bill Gates… [Yet] as longtime researchers of the STEM workforce and immigration… none of us has been able to find any credible evidence to support the IT industry’s assertions of labor shortages… The tech industry’s promotion of expanded temporary visas (such as the H-1B) and green cards is driven by its desire for cheap, young and immobile labor. It is well documented that loopholes enable firms to legally pay H-1Bs below their market value and to continue the widespread age discrimination acknowledged by many in the tech industry… IT industry leaders have spent lavishly on lobbying to promote their STEM shortage claims among legislators. The only problem is that the evidence contradicts their self-interested claims.
Although it has not received much attention from the establishment media, the H-1B issue has played a critical role in the 2016 election.
In Florida, scores of Marco Rubio’s own constituents were laid off by Disney (http://www.breitbart.com/big-government/2015/11/25/exclusive-attorney-displaced-disney-workers-rubio-liar-appeasing-corporate-donors/) and were forced to train their low-wage foreign replacements brought in on H-1B visas. The American tech workers launched a discrimination lawsuit against Disney earlier this week.
As a result, Rubio has come under fire for being one of the most ardent champions of the cheap foreign labor program—having introduced his I-Squared bill, which would expand the H-1B program, as recently as last year.
The attorney for the Florida Disney tech workers, Sara Blackwell, blasted Sen. Rubio for his continued efforts to put the interests of his “corporate donors” ahead of his own constituents. “Sen. Rubio is a liar,” Blackwell told Breitbart in November, “I think Rubio lies. And the only motivation I can imagine he has to do so is the support he gets from his corporate donors.”
According to Open Secrets, the Walt Disney Corporation has been one of Rubio’s biggest financial boosters in the 2016 election— having donated more than $2 million. Disney CEO Bob Iger also co-chairs the Partnership For A New American Economy along with Microsoft’s Steve Ballmer, which has backed Rubio’s 2015 H-1B expansion bill.

Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX)
97%

has similarly been subject to intense criticism for his position on the H-1B issue. Cruz has previously expressed his support for expanding the H-1B program– and even introduced an amendment to the 2013 Rubio-Schumer bill that would have resulted in a 500% increase of the H-1B program. During the Gang of Eight debate, Cruz said, “The best aspect of the so-called Gang of Eight bill is the reform that is found concerning legal immigration. I think it makes some positive steps with regard to legal immigration, but I don’t think it goes nearly far enough… if we want to improve high-skilled innovation in my view we should not do so by half measures. We should do so with a significant step that materially improves the status quo, and for that reason I’ve introduced this amendment to increase the cap by five hundred percent.” During the course of the 2016 race, however, Cruz has since changed his position. He has called for a temporary suspension of the program pending an investigation, and introduced a widely-praised reform plan to crack down on abuse.

In stark contrast to Rubio’s position, GOP frontrunner Donald Trump, who is self-funding his campaign, has taken a firm position against H-1B “job theft.” Trump has told Breitbart News that Rubio ought to “immediately rescind his sponsorship of the I-Squared bill and apologize to every Floridian for endorsing it… [as well as] return the money he [Rubio] has received from Silicon Valley CEOs and to donate the money to a charity helping unemployed Americans whose jobs Rubio has helped to destroy.

Meanwhile reduce social benefits for negroes by 50%. The offer is valid for 3 months, after that the offer is one way flight ticket to Africa, tourist class, $5,000 and a new pair of Nike's sport shoes, benefits are again halfed...

And tariffs? Do you believe zionists want countries to have tariffs? They do not want this at all. They want gobalization.

Zionists collect taxes anyway they can, 2 different forms seem to be their preference. one on imports the other on income. Both and all ends are covered for them thru VAT. u cant just tariff china without having huge increase in canadian imports. or if u do everything becomes tracked everywhere on the planet. A zionist's wet dream.

As far as border patrol they'll dig that too just the way they do in Israel. The main concern is that the state has all power of force and not the populace... to do anything resulting in or use of your own better judgement. Like rejecting a iphone made from slave labor or highering them to do your bidding.

exactly wrong. the zio overthrow of 1913 and following 100 years have CLEARLY demonstrated a disdain for import tariff and an affinity for so-called income tax (for the US)

they unwound the AMERICAN system of import tariffs and NO taxes on wages. income was defined as profit separated from capital....what the ziofreaks now call capital gains.

perfectly beautiful that income (now capital gains) gets FAVORED treatment over wages (which contains no gain to tax)

LMAO! Hornstein, you outdid yourself here!

Globalism is dependent on no trade barriers, its primary beneficiaries are Jewish bankers and traders.

The wall they have in Israel is very immoral anywhere else, they scream out in pain, bloody holocaust, if anyone suggests that refugee flows from the Zionist wars in Middle East, or anywhere else is to be stopped. The white race should be mixed, and if you disagree you are a Nazi.

Fine Jew-Jitsu Hornstein, have another Shekel!

Zionists depend on trade barriers and taxation just as often as open borders and free trade. Its how they operate at maximum profit.

The current mem in trade is to sew confusion and mistrust resulting in lower economic activity worldwide or only through "approved" channels. Is why most of the so called "free trade agreements" are anything but free and barriers to trade in and of themselves.

Get your shit straight goy, or go home. They'll mix you or unmix you at a whim or whichever is most profitable to them with bootstrap bankers who will tow the line every time.

Cruz is a piece of shit. He should be criminally charged for falsely accusing people of "violations" where none exist.

Ted Cruz Facing Controversy Over Iowa 'Voter Violation' Mailers (http://abcnews.go.com/Politics/ted-cruz-facing-controversy-iowa-voter-violation-mailers/story?id=36631257)

A controversial campaign mailer from Ted Cruz’s campaign is raising eyebrows across Iowa in the final hours before the caucuses.

The campaign literature, paid for by the Texas senator’s campaign, is labeled "Voter Violation" in bold red letters, with the words "official public record" across the top.

The letter lists the name of the resident -- as well as the specific names of their neighbors -- along with a grade for how often they’ve voted.

"Their scores are published below and many of them will see your score as well." the mailer says.

The Cruz campaign came under fire from Iowa election officials, who blasted the mailer as misleading.

"Today I was shown a piece of literature from the Cruz for President campaign that misrepresents the role of my office, and worse, misrepresents Iowa election law," Iowa Secretary of State Paul Pate said in a statement.

He added there is no such thing as a violation based on infrequent voting.

"Any insinuation or statement to the contrary is wrong and I believe it is not in keeping in the spirit of the Iowa Caucuses," Pate said.

Cruz defended the mailers when asked about them, saying that the Iowa Republican Party has put out similar ones in the past.

"Listen, Matt Schultz, who is a former secretary of state, is a chairman of our campaign, put out a public statement saying these mailers are routine. That the Iowa Republican Party has done in the past, in past elections and I will apologize to nobody for using every tool we can to encourage Iowa voters to come out to vote," Cruz told reporters Saturday evening.

Donald Trump and Marco Rubio, Cruz’s two closest rivals in the state, also blasted the mailer.

"It's kind of an unusual way to end your campaign in a state," Rubio said. "It sounds like he's under a lot of pressure and maybe not reacting very well to it, which is problematic."

The Florida senator is circulating a similar mailer, framed as a "report card." However, his literature does not imply a "voting violation," nor does it list the voting frequency of neighbors by name.

Tom Hinkeldey, a resident of Alta, Iowa, said Cruz dragged "me and my neighbors’ names through the mud" by sending out the mailer.

"It was just a little perturbing that a candidate would send that out, thinking that it would, in any way, have the reaction that I should go vote for this guy," he said. "The people on that list are good people. He doesn't know them. He doesn't know our community."

Hinkeldey, who hasn’t caucused before, said he was undecided before the mailer, but now plans to caucus for Rubio.

And finally, Cruz strongly told thousands of caucusgoers (voters) that Trump was strongly in favor of ObamaCare and "choice" - a total lie!

The Voter Violation certificate gave poor marks to the unsuspecting voter(grade of F) and told them to clear it up by voting for Cruz. Fraud

Many people voted for Cruz over Carson because of this Cruz fraud. Also, Cruz sent out a VOTER VIOLATION certificate to thousands of voters.

Ted Cruz didn't win Iowa, he stole it. That is why all of the polls were so wrong and why he got far more votes than anticipated. Bad!

Cruz is a piece of shit. He should be criminally charged for falsely accusing people of "violations" where none exist.

If Donald doesn't put it to Rafael and twist then I'll be very disappointed in Donald. Rafael is extremely vulnerable on this, it shows his true character, i.e. he will do ANYTHING* for his long held goals of riches, power, and "world domination".

Karl Rove lays out exactly how the fraud was perpetrated. Basically if Cruz get even 4 votes per precinct because of the lie, that accounts for him beating Trump.

BOOM! Karl Rove Breaks Down How Cruz Camp’s Cheating Stole Iowa from Trump (VIDEO) Jim Hoft (http://www.thegatewaypundit.com/author/jim-hoft/) Feb 3rd, 2016 8:07 pm 249 Comments (http://www.thegatewaypundit.com/2016/02/boom-karl-rove-explains-how-cruz-camps-cheating-stole-iowa-from-trump-video/#disqus_thread)

Carson said the Cruz camp told voters Carson was dropping out and to support Ted Cruz.
Carson was right to be outraged…
The Cruz camp sent this message out at 7:01 PM before the voting started at the Iowa caucuses.

WOW!

On Wednesday, Karl Rove, not a Trump fan by any means, explained how the cheating could have cost Donald Trump the election in Iowa.

“The Cruz Campaign, Spence Rogers, sends out a tweet. And the tweet is headlined, “Press says that Carson is going to take a break”… so tell all the Carson people to campaign with Cruz… At 7:53 the Carson people send out a release saying, “We’re here. We’re staying in the race. We’re going to New Hampshire and South Carolina.” And at 8:20 the national co-chairman of the Cruz campaign, Steve King, sends out a tweet saying, “It looks like Carson is getting out of the race.” Now they knew at this point that this was inaccurate.
“Senator Cruz in his initial explanation about this said we were sending it to our team, leaving the implication, I suspect, to most viewers, that this had to do with sending it out to staff members. No, no, no… They sent this to their nearly 1,500 precinct captains. There are 1,500 precincts in the state. And they sent this message from Spence Roberts (Rogers). Now why does that matter. Now the gap between Donald Trump and Ted Cruz is 6,239 votes. There are 1,500 precincts. Do the math… If that message cost Carson four votes per precinct to switch to Cruz, then Cruz beats Trump. If he doesn’t switch four, then he loses.

Wow!

This is a stunning indictment of the Cruz Campaign’s cheating scandal.

The USA and the World are being Stolen by Easily-Rigged, Secret Computer Programs. These secret computer programs are controlled by mega-Companies ES &S, Hart, and Dominion (formerly Diebold) on election night. These handful of private mega-companies are hired by 99% of our counties because the RNC and the DNC encourages their Board of Elections officials to hire these mega companies.

ABC, CBS, NBC, CNN, FOX, and AP are equal gatekeepers on Election night in that they protect this set up AND they announce whatever results they are given by National Election Pool (NEP), a company ABC, CBS, NBC, CNN, FOX, and AP JOINTLY OWNS. There are no checks and balances on election day except in 20% of NH, where paper ballots are still counted by the local citizens by hand, in public, BEFORE THE BALLOTS LEAVE THE SIGHT OF THE JUDGES AND PUBLIC.

By Brad Friedman

Last year ended with a number of voter database breaches — from the Sanders/Clinton/DNC database kerfuffle (http://bradblog.com/?p=11480) to the discovery of the still-mysterious posting of some 191 million voter records (http://www.politico.com/story/2015/12/voter-registration-data-exposed-217172) online shortly thereafter.

But those concerns may pale in comparison to the fact that the nation is about to begin voting in Presidential primaries and caucuses using electronic voting systems and tabulators that have failed time and again, that remain vulnerable to both malfunction and malfeasance, and that are often impossible for the public to oversee in any meaningful way.

On today’s BradCast (http://bradblog.com/BradCast): Welcome to Presidential Election 2016! Good luck! (We’re gonna need it.)

Joining us to discuss the voter database breaches as well as concerns about election integrity and oversight in early caucus and primary states such as Iowa, New Hampshire, South Carolina, Nevada and beyond is Bev Harris of BlackBoxVoting.org (http://blackboxvoting.org/).

Harris, the election integrity watchdog featured in HBO’s Emmy-nominated 2006 documentary Hacking Democracy (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hacking_Democracy), has been investigating and writing about (http://blackboxvoting.org/voter-data-breaches/) those voter database breaches lately, including a new one that has just been discovered concerning tens of millions of additional voter records.

While voter registration databases actually contain public information, she explains, there are restrictions on their use, and they are not supposed to simply be posted publicly for download. “This stuff is not secure. It’ll probably never be secure,” she warns. “One of the things I did was really research how many of the breaches have occurred over time, and it’s a shocking number. You can’t secure this stuff.” As we discuss on today’s program, that point is something to keep in mind when you hear advocates of Internet Voting systems (the next nightmare that some hope to force upon American democracy) claim otherwise.

We then step through the differing voting processes used in each of the early voting states, with Harris explaining that completely unverified and/or unverifiable e-voting and tabulation systems — most of them hacked many times in the past — will once again be in use in every state in the union. Yes, even where hand-marked paper ballots are used, almost all of those ballots are tabulated by unverified computer systems.

“I’m not at war with a machine,” she explains. “I’m at war with no transparency. We have to be able to have some way to see and authenticate that count, before the ballots travel anywhere.”

Harris tells me: “The key here is not that there will never be a mistake, or never be fraud. The key is that the public has a right to accountability. If you can catch it, and do something about it — if you’re vigilant enough and doing a patriotic duty of vigilance — then that’s the whole point. When you start saying, ‘No, you can never see, you can never account for it,’ then you have a problem.”

We discuss how it was, in fact, public oversight of hand-counted paper ballots at GOP caucus sites (http://www.bradblog.com/?p=9023) in Iowa in 2012 which resulted in the correct results actually becoming known (http://www.bradblog.com/?p=9078) weeks later, long after the Republican Party misreported them on the night of the caucuses.

Transparency, however, is not quite as easy in other early voting states like New Hampshire (remember the unbelievably unverified mess (http://www.bradblog.com/?p=5538) there in 2008, when Hillary Clinton’s victory defied even Exit Polls (http://www.bradblog.com/?p=5535) taken on the day of the Primary?) and, especially, South Carolina (remember the unknown Alvin Greene’s (http://www.bradblog.com/?page_id=8954) 100% unverifiable and inexplicable victory in their 2010 Democratic U.S. Senate primary?)

“There’s not just one magic wand you can wave, but there are things to at least force some accountability into it,” Harris tells me, describing some of the ways election integrity advocates can try to force the issue a bit. Among her suggestions: “You can go [to the polling place at closing time] and snap a picture of what those [computer tabulated] results are with your cell phone and compare it with, at least, what they report” later on.

We cover a lot of ground in the conversation and I suspect we’ll be discussing this issue with her, and others, a lot more as the election year moves forward. But today’s show is a good place to begin.

Finally, speaking of warnings we keep trying to give you, Desi Doyen joins us for the very first Green News Report (http://greennewsreport.bradblog.com/) of the new year as El Niño — turbo-charged by climate change — ravaged the globe over the holidays and beyond…
