Mark Pearson, a 51-year-old artist, was accused of sexually assaulting a well-known actress in her 60s when their paths crossed at London's Waterloo station.

Actually both forms of spelling are correct. Although most Americans have accustomed to spelling the word without an "E", it was originally spelled Judgement in the U.K. (judgment is preferred in legal contexts even in British English and has become more common in both U.K. and U.S), I grew up in the states (TX) and ironically I have always known to spell it with an "E" after the letter "G". I guess it depends what part of the U.S. you were growing up in also.
