THE PRINCIPLE certainly was a timely film. Mainstream media and the science establishment, forced to face the facts by THE PRINCIPLE, have no choice but to start being more open about the reality of the state of cosmology. Those who don't want to wait for the science establishment to reveal parts of the truth at their determined pace need to see THE PRINCIPLE (https://screeningnow.com/public/product/5600c06409f6108a096a2dff/) now!

'Copernican principle' states Earth doesn't hold a privileged position
The latest study challenges this belief by modelling the known universe
None of the known 700 quintillion possible planets look like Earth
Earth's young age and position within the Milky Way makes it unique

I wasn't aware that scientists have surveyed 700 million-trillion planets to make such a claim.

They must be really busy.

We will never know for sure until we can either accomplish one of two things. Able to achieve warp speed and travel to where ever we please in space at any given destination. Or able to have a telescope be able to detect photons created by artificial means. (i.e. not generated from a star)

thats a lot of planets to make up out of thin are, which is what they did.

'It's certainly the case that there are a lot of uncertainties in a calculation like this. Our knowledge of all of these pieces is imperfect.'

There are some drawbacks to the model. For instance, the team had to guess how planets might form around stars with fewer heavy elements.

But despite these concerns, they say the conclusion is accurate.

According to Scientific American, 'the researchers conclude that Earth stands as a mild violation of the Copernican principle'.

It follows research last year, which found that Earth may be one of the first habitable planets in the universe.

Scientists believe when the solar system formed 4.6 billion years ago, only eight per cent of the potentially habitable worlds that are destined to exist had formed.

And the vast majority of planets are yet to be born and may not appear until after our sun burns itself out in another six billion years.

Its good to know that all planets still form perfect spheres.

If they only had a dollar for every planet they surveyed... They would have the financial assets of more than a million earths!

Its good to know that all planets still form perfect spheres. Not entirely perfect but close, it is only a problem if you don't believe in Gravity!

A sphere is the natural shape anything will take with a large gravitational force.

This is just simple physics but as always...

yeah I know, the centrifugalness of orbits. But apart from some surface bumps, they are remarkably round. And of course atmosphere blurs the lines along with fairly poor resolution from the viewing position.

It would be interesting to see the true shape of the dirt component of earth, With all the water stripped away.

The deepest ocean off the coast of Japan is 11 km below sea. I think average depth of oceans are about 2 km. The diameter of earth is about 12,000 km's... So without water earth would look fairly round still!

yes that resolution issue.
