Anyone heard of this? Secretary of the Airforce. Some they call "honorable".
Says 19 pilots lost. 8 in combat. 11 not in combat?
This has been in the last 6 months.
Awarded lots of silver trinkets in gratitude.
Do they no longer report military losses in the US media now? Too many to report perhaps. I notice she says that they have 200, 000 less personell now. They must have killed them all and never bothered replacing them.
Russian aircraft and pilot losses to date - Nil.
This bit of information provides some conclusions on the USAF.
Eight pilots were shot from the sky by IS in the last half-year alone. This was achieved with primitive means. But these same primitive means did not get even one Russian fighter aircraft shot down in Syria in thodr same 6 months.
The USA have, like Russiam, two bombardement options in Syria. First: engage self-navigigating, extremely expensive rockets from a safe height. Secondly: "Silly" bombs, whose precision is extremely bad. With certain tricks the precision of the silly bombs can be enhanced to a certain extent.
While US official (e.g., Nuland) railed publicly about "silly" Russian bombs, these Russian bombs are almost as precisem as self-navigating rockets. And, besides, they can be dropped from a height which is well out of reach of the primitive anti-aircraft weapons of the IS.
The "silly" bombs of the USA seem much sillier than the Russian and obviously force the US pilots to a height which is accessible for the IS.
This piece of information by James also suggests that the USA cannot afford the constant use of self-navigating rockets. This however leads to the loss of a considerable number of pilots and airplanes.
This is a live leak report and a press conference if you can stomach it. http://www.liveleak.com/view?i=ba5_1457647385
