Supporters of Republican presidential front-runner Donald Trump and protesters clashed after a rally in Utah on Friday.

Crowds who chanted “Donald Trump” were met with “Mr. Hate Out of Our State” as police in riot gear blocked the entrance to the Infinity Event Center in Salt Lake City. Protesters tried to rush the door of the building and got into screaming matches with Trump supporters who were barred from entering the venue.

According to KSTU-TV, people who were exiting the building were being pelted with rocks. Some protesters were seen tearing down a security tent that the U.S. Secret Service used to screen attendees before they entered the building.

"Like I said, overall, you know our officers were on standby, we were just hoping everything was peaceful, and, no problems whatsoever, and fortunately it turned out just as we anticipated," Salt Lake City Police Det. Cody Lougy told KSTU-TV.

Lougy told the Salt Lake Tribune that he didn’t think anyone was arrested.

According to the paper, the heated demonstrations outside the Infinity Event Center weren’t the only protests around the city.

Tony Yapias, the director of Proyecto Latino, played a voice mail message over a loudspeaker he received Friday morning of someone telling him to leave the U.S. Yapias told the Tribune that Trump’s rhetoric is playing a part in the increased tension drawn toward Latinos.

He said the rally – which was attended by about 150 people – was to show that the Hispanic community in Utah will not back down from his hate speech. Some in the crowd were heard chanting “Get out Trump” in Spanish.

SALT LAKE CITY -- Video clips captured outside the Donald Trump rally in Salt Lake City Friday night shows protesters in a shoving match with officers in riot gear.

In the video, the protesters can be heard shouting "Trump Stinks!"

In another clip, protesters appear to tear down a security tent and can be heard yelling "Shut it down!"

The clips were captured by FOX News correspondent Peter Doocy. Later Friday night, things calmed down in the vicinity as the rally ended and the crowds ultimately dispersed.

"Donald Trump has insulted so many. And he is unapologetic," Tony Yapias, a protest organizer said.

Yapias helped put together an anti-Trump rally at Liberty Park.

A chant of "shut it down, shut it down," rang outside the Infinity Event Center, 26 E., 600 South, where Trump spoke in Salt Lake. The groups for Trump, and those against Trump, yelled and argued with each other outside. Some minor scuffles broke out.

Police pushed protesters away from the door at one point when the protesters tried to enter, trying to disrupt the rally inside.

Trump's arrival for the speech required police presence to keep the groups separated. Trump landed at the Salt Lake City airport and then arrived at the speech after it was already full with protesters and supporters entrenched outside.

Chants of "Chicago, Chicago, Chicago," could be heard, referencing the Trump speech that was cancelled a week ago due to protesters and safety concerns.

Protestors climbed trees and cars nearby. Det. Cody Lougy, with the Salt Lake City Police Department, said even with so many people gathered in one place, there were no large incidents.

"We had some people throwing rocks and bottles into the crowd and at the officers, but no arrests," Lougy said around 9:30 Friday night.

Salt Lake City Police had assistance from the Utah Highway Patrol and the Secret Service.

Salt Lake police said they didn't make any arrests, but stopped a couple people who were throwing rocks and bottles.

There was a brief shoving match when a Trump supporter holding a blue "Trump: Make America Great Again" scarf stood among the protesters.
