WASHINGTON (AP) -- Ted Cruz embraced Jeb Bush's endorsement on Wednesday and claimed he could build a broad coalition capable of beating Hillary Clinton in the fall - if only he can climb past the surging Republican presidential front-runner, Donald Trump.

Cruz spent a good portion of his early career working for President George W. Bush — first as a legal policy adviser to the Bush-Cheney campaign in 2000, then as part of the recount team in Florida. He was the Department of Justice coordinator for the Bush-Cheney transition team and then spent six months as Associate Deputy Attorney General at the DOJ. But his longest stretch of work for Bush was at the Federal Trade Commission, before he departed to become the Solicitor General of Texas. From July 2001 to January 2003, Cruz was the director of the Office of Policy Planning at the FTC. There, he earned a reputation as a passionate boss intent on tracking the success of the office’s efforts in granular detail.

They could still try and slip Jeb in. They would have to turn the convention against Trump, then have someone conveniently bring up Cruz' natural born citizen issue, and eliminate him.

I believe very much they will steal the election from Trump if he doesn't get the magic number of delegates. Yes, they could move Jeb in, because he's already been vetted and was in the race. Much more likely then a Romney.

If this happens, I think the people need to organize and stage the biggest protest in Washington DC this country has ever seen.

Jeb would have a snowballs chance in hell. He is low energy remember? Maybe they would try and negotiate some of Trumps most protectionist/ trade barrier points down and soften his kicking out all illegals at once stance. They are just negotiation points anyway, a brokered convention may still go his way, with some "minor" modifications. The art of the deal! ;)

Instead a Trump that do there bidness. An America with a bit less illegal immigrants a bit more legal immigrants, some trade tariffs on some things that doesn't really matter, paying and contributing a bit less to NATO, but a bit more to Israel, plus striking a bit harder on Israels perceived enemies...
