Former Teacher Pleads Not Guilty To Charges of Sexual Assault of Student
WITI - Milwaukee, WI
A Wisconsin teacher had sex with her student between 10 and 15 times, including once at a Motel 6 the night of her husband’s bachelor party, prosecutors said.
Court documents revealed Saturday that former high school teacher Sara Domres, 28, carried on a relationship for a year with a boy who was a 16-year-old sophomore student in her English class last year, WITI-TV reported.
Investigators said she called the New Berlin West high student her “baby boo” in over 1,100 text messages they exchanged between April 2015 and January.
"Baby Boo, I love you now & forever! Please be mine forever & ever. Always, your baby girl. P.S. Good luck on your quiz [smiley face]," she once told him, according to court records.
Sara Domres, 28, faces two counts of sexual assault of a student.
The teen’s friends reported her in January and the School District of New Berlin, about 15 miles southwest of Milwaukee, fired her the same month, according to a criminal complaint cited by the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel. After her arrest Friday, Domres pleaded not guilty to two counts of sexual assault of a student, charges that could carry up to six years behind bars.
Investigators believe Domres met the teen for sex at a Brookfield Motel 6 the night of the bachelor party and sent him a selfie while she and her husband were on their honeymoon. Most of the trysts between Domres and the teen took place in her car at a Park 'n Ride lot, the documents said.
Her cellphone showed a Google search for “What's the prison sentence for a teacher sleeping with a student?" according to the court records. The investigation showed other texts in which she asked the teen not to tell anyone about them, WISN-TV reported.
“I love you, too, baby and will forever,” she said. “I'm just saying that if you ever don't, please still love me enough as a person to know how much that'd hurt me. You are amazing and mean the world to me. I want to be yours forever.”
Domres' husband stood by her side in court despite the allegation she had sex with her teenage student in a Motel 6 the night of his bachelor party.
Domres, who received her state teaching certification in January 2011, didn’t immediately respond to requests for comment Thursday afternoon. Her husband was seen in court standing by her side last week despite the allegations.
District Superintendent Joe Garza sent a letter to parents Friday alerting them to the charges against Domres and saying Garza shares their “frustration and disappointment” about the accusations of sexual assault in their community.
“When we hire employees, there is a level of expectation as to how they conduct themselves,” Garza wrote. “We could never have expected such a flagrant disregard for not only our expectations, but society’s expectations as well.”
