View Full Version : Why can't Trump show up at the convention to "woo" delegates?

Would it fly if Trump showed up to the convention to say "I'm here to woo delegates and chew bubblegum...and I'm all out of bubblegum."

Since "wooing" is part of the game, what if Trump shows up with a $20,000 gold Rolex watch and tickets to pick up their watch, to all delegates that will support him?
He could also sweeten the "woo" pot with a 1 year free membership, with reciprocity, to all Trump golf courses.

Would this be enough "wooing" to win?

I think he'll do what needs to be done.

Which may turn out to be nothing. He is at 49% in California in the latest poll there.

He's way up in the entire northeast.

The last thing you will see him do is buy delegates. I think with his new advisor who himself has an advisor the losing game has changed in his favor. He is out to win and that's all he is about now. He has a ton of jew support and jew people in his campaign.. at this time it's all about winning. You can't win without the jew. Weather they are zionist or not I don't know but he is a smart man and is doing what it takes.

It's not called 'buying' in politics...it's called "wooing"

I'm glad Trump has finally spoken about all the bribing of delegates going on and why he won't be a party to it.

Donald Trump Assails ‘Rigged’ Delegate System, Saying He Chooses Not to Exploit It
By THOMAS KAPLAN and MAGGIE HABERMANAPRIL 17, 2016

Insisting that the delegate selection process is “corrupt and crooked,” Donald J. Trump offered a vivid example on Sunday to prove his point.

Imagine being wooed by Mr. Trump.

“Look, nobody has better toys than I do,” he told reporters at a hotel on Staten Island, where he pressed his case that the system was rigged against him. “I can put them in the best planes and bring them to the best resorts anywhere in the world.”

But Mr. Trump said that was unseemly.

“You’re basically buying these people,” he added. “You’re basically saying, ‘Delegate, listen, we’re going to send you to Mar-a-Lago on a Boeing 757, you’re going to use the spa, you’re going to this, you’re going to that, we want your vote.’ That’s a corrupt system.”

Mr. Trump’s comments were the latest salvo in an escalating war against the Republican National Committee over how delegates were being selected in the presidential race.

On Sunday, two days before New York’s primaries, Mr. Trump was the only Republican presidential candidate to campaign in the state, where polls showed him with a wide lead.

During his visit to Staten Island, a stronghold of his support, he accepted an award from the New York Veteran Police Association and spoke at a party brunch. At a rally in Poughkeepsie, he berated party officials once again.

Still, speaking to reporters on Staten Island, Mr. Trump said he hoped that the July convention “doesn’t involve violence.”

“And I don’t think it will,” he said. “But I will say this: It’s a rigged system. It’s a crooked system. It’s 100 percent crooked.”

Trump Soars in Latest CA, NY, CT, MD, PA Polls 17 Sunday Apr 2016

Those who had written off Donald Trump need to reconsider things in light of recent polls in five states.
Trump has soared in the latest polls in California, New York, Connecticut, Maryland, and Pennsylvania. In no recent polls of upcoming state primaries did Trump lose ground.
State by state, lets take a look.
California
https://mishgea.files.wordpress.com/2016/04/california-polls.png?w=529&h=236 (https://mishgea.files.wordpress.com/2016/04/california-polls.png)
In the latest poll by YouGov, Trumps margin soared to 28 percentage points over Cruz, up from 9-10 percentage point in the two preceding polls.
This was barely enough to tip the state to Trump’s category from Cruz in Silver’s Secret Sauce methodology, but in Polls only things are looking might good for Trump.
Nate Silver’s Polls Only California Forecast
https://mishgea.files.wordpress.com/2016/04/california-silver-2016-04-17.png?w=529&h=283 (https://mishgea.files.wordpress.com/2016/04/california-silver-2016-04-17.png)
Nate Silver’s Secret Sauce Forecast
https://mishgea.files.wordpress.com/2016/04/nate-silver-california-ss-2016-04-171.png?w=529&h=287 (https://mishgea.files.wordpress.com/2016/04/nate-silver-california-ss-2016-04-171.png)
On April 15 Silver’s personal projection was that Cruz had a 60% chance of willing California.
I thought that was preposterous and it was.
An enormous discrepancy between Silver’s secret sauce projection and his polls only forecast still remains, but at least Silver now projects Trump will win California.
New York
https://mishgea.files.wordpress.com/2016/04/new-york-2016-04-17.png?w=529&h=244 (https://mishgea.files.wordpress.com/2016/04/new-york-2016-04-17.png)
Each of the three most recent polls has Trump with a 50%+ majority of the vote. This matters because he needs a 50% margin to sweep the the 14 state delegates. Trump will also sweep any districts in which he gets 50% or more.
In the latest poll, Cruz and Kasich are neck and neck. I gave Trump 86 of 95. The final breakdown may look something like this: 86 Trump, 5 Cruz, 4 Kasich.
We will find out on Tuesday.
Connecticut
Emerson college conducted the first Connecticut poll since November. Here are the results.
https://mishgea.files.wordpress.com/2016/04/connecticut-2016-04-17.png?w=529&h=181 (https://mishgea.files.wordpress.com/2016/04/connecticut-2016-04-17.png)
I predicted Trump would win 19 of 28 Connecticut delegates. If Trump can top 50%, he could conceivably get all 28.
There’s another interesting twist. At the district level, one needs 20% to pick up delegates. It is possible Kasich wins a handful of delegates with Cruz winning zero.
Pennsylvania
https://mishgea.files.wordpress.com/2016/04/pennsylvania-2016-04-17.png?w=529&h=158 (https://mishgea.files.wordpress.com/2016/04/pennsylvania-2016-04-17.png)
Trumped picked up ground in Pennsylvania from the second most recent poll.
Pennsylvania is a curious state that awards only 17 of its 71 delegates to the winner. The other 54 are unbound.
Cruz’s organization is highly unlikely to pick up all of those. In fact, slightly more than half of Pennsylvania’s unbound delegates said they’d support the candidate who wins the popular vote statewide or in their districts, according to a survey (http://triblive.com/news/allegheny/10229809-74/delegates-candidates-district) conducted by the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review.
Things look far better for Trump in Pennsylvania than most believe.
Maryland
https://mishgea.files.wordpress.com/2016/04/maryland-2016-04-17.png?w=529&h=129 (https://mishgea.files.wordpress.com/2016/04/maryland-2016-04-17.png)
Donald Trump surged a whopping 14 percentage points compared to the second most recent poll.
I had already awarded all 32 Maryland delegates, so there is nothing more for him to pick up.
Every Poll Breaking Hard in Favor of Trump
For whatever reason, every recent poll is breaking very hard in Trump’s favor.
Perhaps some of Trump’s recent comments on abortion have worn off. Perhaps it is something obscure that Cruz did or said.
Cruz’s inane comments on sex toys (http://abcnews.go.com/Politics/wireStory/ted-cruz-defended-texas-ban-sale-sex-toys-38429534) could even have played a part, or might still.
It doesn’t matter that much why. But every recent poll, including California, Pennsylvania, and Maryland breaking Trump’s way is a sign this is not just the Northeast.
If these totals hold and Indiana follows suit, the nomination goes to trump barring a rules change at the convention.

It's funny that these jokers on Fox keep complaining about Trump taking a stand against the corrupt RNC...rules are rules, bla bla bla.

They act like rules are to be followed, except when it comes to illegal immigration. They all seen pretty fine with breaking the rules there...except for, they're breaking fucking LAWS!
