Praise for Sex in the City

Sex in the City remains an icon pf pop culture in part because they dealt with the complexity of women's lives and their private decisions without sugar-coating difficult issues.

google search today for "sex in the city" -- google ignores the quotes and substitutes 'and' for 'in' in the results. i had a hard time finding ANYTHING with sex IN the city - including searching images

the change must predate the vhs covers. note that i posted an article from 2007 with the original name referenced multiple times. the scrubbers missed that one
just as interesting is google's IGNORING of the quotes around the "sex in the city" search. that makes it a slam dunk for revisionism. the quotes are SUPPOSED to return verbatim results

Your right, google totally ignores the search phrase. I even put it in parentheses.
There was a comedy sitcom show early last year 2015 that had one woman (white) have a child but she had sex with the whole black sports team, so they all became the childs father. I can't find any reference to it now. Like it never existed.

A moose head would be an improvement!
Was it really called "Sex in the city" from the beginning? I only remember it with "and"...
Found this thread on the subject:

Sounds like good innocent fun for the entire family!

I thought it was called "in the city". Not a show I watched. I might have seen a few when some one else had the RC. Didn't like the people. I don't think there is anything "cool" in being a prick to everyone around you. that covers a lot of TV shows. And it seems worse now than ever before. Of course now you realise that all the actors are from the same stock regardless of what ethnicity they are playing. Except mexicans. They seem to play themselves. I guess that is ok as they have the required level of racism to make it on TV.
The test would be to get a few old TV guides and see what they say.

Weird, I always thought it was Sex in the City as well, not like I paid that close attention to it all anyway.
And I thought google always used "and" and "in" interchangeably. For example you can search "Jack and the box" quotes and all and you'll still get results for Jack in the Box.

Star also discussed the moment in an early episode when he realized that "Sex in the City" would fulfill its promise. "I remember being in the editing room and watching this episode where all the women were all off on their separate journeys.

What did "Sex in the City" say about the consequences of such sexual freedom?
What, if anything, was its coverage of sexually transmitted diseases (STDs) and the other consequences of unprotected sex?
The show didn't say much about the possible negative consequences of having a lot of sex.

google again exposed as a tool for the pigmen
they went to great efforts to scrub 'in' -- and overrode their own boolean to manipulate results

It feels like a scrub and one that is getting a lot of effort.
This bit was written by a devotee of gibberish but I think the insight was, copyright infringement. Plagerism probably. Nothing new for these guys. So rebadge to avoid paying dues.
Our resident legal expert is our very own commenter, KarenUhOh (http://gawker.com/commenter/dpoindexter/). We call upon Karen to weigh in on the legal activities of the day—but don't forget that any legal opinions should not be constituted as advice; laws may vary state by state; in general, you should read at your own risk!
There's a great peril of these modern times. All the ideas are taken! Nothing original is left! Every bon mot and swell idea has been used, and what's more, those who own those ideas all retain high-priced law firms. Take poor Jennifer Cassetta, for instance. She's a "New York fitness/martial-arts instructor" who started a business called "Health and the City (http://www.healthandthecity.net/blog/)," for which she now wants to obtain a legal trademark from the U.S. Patent Office.
Oh, but noooo, say those hyperventélattéd folks at HBO. Seems they have a little franchise you may have heard of, a TV show-soon-to-be-Major Motion Picture starring various aging Actresses desperately seeking Major Motion Paydays before the well, uh, dries up. (A Picture that is unendingly being filmed (http://www.gawker.com/news/the-most-important-movie-ever-shot-in-new-york), by the way.)
According to the Law Blog of the Wall Street Journal (http://blogs.wsj.com/law/2007/10/22/a-trademark-dispute-the-city/), HBO and its lawyers oppose Ms. Casetta's application, but have been kind enough to suggest a name change for her biz—to "Health in the City." But she's incurred costs already for building the business with the allegedly infringing name, and she doesn't want to blow her own wad starting over. So she's standing on her application.
Bad news, lady. HBO always goes to the mat to protect Carrie and her Sisters.
The medicine ball's in HBO's court now—they've got until 11/18 (http://ttabvue.uspto.gov/ttabvue/v?qs=77016788) to oppose the application, which in "similar" past situations, they've done: they've had legal issues with businesses called Scents In the City (why is the "in" not OK here?), Flex In the City (ditto), and Handbags & the City (too close to the truthbone for HBO?).
(She's not the only one taking on HBO. One Odelia Bittone seems to be standing by her application for "Sex and the City of Angels": "Printed publications, namely columns, magazine articles, and books in the field of relationships, love, sex, and living in Los Angeles, CA." That might not go very well! "An opposition is now pending (http://tarr.uspto.gov/servlet/tarr?regser=serial&entry=78964554) at the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board.")
Here's your tutorial: you register a tradename, trademark, or service mark with the government in order to build legal protection for your valuable brand—so you can sue the shit out of infringers and get to some real money. It keeps leeches from sponging off your five minutes' hard work.
HBO holds trademarks for "Sex and the City" for use on posters and calendars; for "cosmetic brushes, eye shadow brushes, eyebrow brushes, lip brushes, make-up brushes, nail brushes and powder puffs"; for videogames, computer games, ringtones; for "trivia games, namely trivia cards"; for "makeup remover in the form of a pen," make-up kits, "nail enamel corrector pen, namely, nail enamel remover in the form of a pen," and "cosmetic facial blotting papers," as well as "perfume, perfume oils, eau de perfume," body spray, wax strips, shaving lotion, shaving mousse, false eyelashes and glue for false eyelashes; coin purses, clutch bags, duffel bags, luggage; lingerie, scarves, panties, pajamas, bras; drinking glasses and shot glasses; and "APPAREL, NAMELY T-SHIRTS AND HATS."
