It just gets weirder and weirder?
Kasich vetting veep picks

Republican presidential candidate John Kasich confirmed that his campaign is already looking into potential choices as his running mate, should he become his party's nominee.
"Well, we have some old hands now who are beginning to do that," the Ohio governor said on CBS's "Face the Nation" Sunday. "You know, these things come quickly and you don't want to have yourself in a position where you have to pick somebody out of a hat."
Kasich said that his team is only "just starting" to look into possible running mates, so that there "isn't a lot to report." He said, however, that "it's possible" he could announce his choice by June, ahead of the convention, which takes place in July.
"We're at the preliminary stage and yeah, I think it's always possible," he said.
Kasich is a distant third in acquiring the delegates needed in the GOP primary to become the party's nominee. Kasich badly trails Ted Cruz and front-runner Donald Trump.
Kasich is mathematically incapable of winning the needed delegates by the time of the convention, but in the event of a brokered convention, wherein no candidate locked down the nomination, he and any other candidate could continue to compete. He argues Cruz cannot win the needed delegates and that Trump will not.
