If there are any computer geeks here, see if you can go onto tomshardware forums and ask a question - it keeps telling me "uh oh something went wrong" and doesn't give any way to get your question posted.
If there is any OTHER forum where computer geeks hang out and can reply to others with questions, please advise. What I am trying to find out is whether or not we can still buy new USB terabyte drives that work with Windows XP - right-out-of-the-box. All the ones I find at Bestbuy etc. require a minimum of WIndows 7. I still have several old PC"s that are XP, and, since they are working just fine, I sure don't want to upgrade to Windows 7. I have some old drives that I got several years ago that worked with XP, but, I can't find any of these anymore - blast!
Thanks

I am by no means a computer geek, maybe this information doesn't apply to modern hard drives.
A quick search turned up these. Maybe there is some useful information in one of them:

Monty is spot on with the links he provided. Especially the second one.
I don't compute any longer, strictly IPAD except for bootlegging tv, movies, music, which still require the use of a desktop computer. Don't go to large.......XP is limited in how much disk space it can recognize. I think it's limited to 2TB if I remember correctly.

It's the memory limitation of XP to 2 TB HDs. You might get the large HD partitioned first then it should work. But I recommend you upgrade the WIN 7 as it is superior to XP and backward compatibility will not be an issue. XP is way too old to still be using if you want to update software and drivers.

Update to Windows 7. Avoid Windows 10.

you should be able to zoom in on your phone or tablet by touching the screen with two fingers and slding them away from each other.
alternatively you could stop tugging it. hairy palms and all that.

Thanks, guys, for all the replies. Following up, I found the following WD My Passport that is supposed to still work with XP:
http://www.amazon.com/Western-Digital-Passport-Portable-WDBMWV0020BT
This one is almost identical to the one I purchased at BestBuy which will NOT work with XP, so, I'm returning it and getting this one from Amazon (gobs of reviews so I have confidence).
As to upgrading to Windows 7. I DO have windows 7 on my laptop, but, I tried it on my desktops and had to re-install XP. I can't remember all the complaints I had, but one comes to mind - the new interface for Windows Mspaint - just run it against any bmp and see how Msoft screwed up just for the hell of it - they had a top-notch paint program that was small, fast, and, though limited in capabilities, could do most of the edits you might need in a hurry without having to start up Photoshop. So many other things, like Windows Explorer, anyway, I'll keep using XP on my old desktops until I see a need to build a new one with hyperthreading and all the modern components - Windows 7 will probably make sense then, but, for now, I'm a happy camper with XP (one of my PC's even has Win2k and another really old one has Windows 98SE, from which I listen to internet radio, such as, the MightisRight audio streaming about pro-white issues, which I am listening to right this minute).
Don't knock old technology when it still works and costs so much less (next to nothing) by now.

Here is a list from the WD website of My Passport Ultra models formated for NTFS, XP Windows 7 and 8. The list includes the model you found in amazon.com with in several color options.

While traveling with a friend I was the navigator, the map does get bigger but the freeway numbers go back to their micro size.
