shocked to learn about this? Unfortunately not

Aerial spraying to kill mosquitoes linked to 25% increase in autism, finds shock study by American Academy of Pediatrics
4 May 2016 GMT
‘Aerial spraying of pesticides to kill mosquitoes, may be linked to an increase in autism spectrum disorder and development delays in children, according to a study presented at the Pediatric Academic Societies on Saturday, April 30.

While health authorities have increasingly encouraged pesticide spraying to combat mosquitoes carrying a birth defect-inducing virus, new research suggests that the chemical application may actually be causing birth defects.

Scientists reached their findings after they observed a 25 percent increase in autism and developmental disorders among children living in areas where aerial spraying for mosquitoes has been used since 2003, according to the study, titled “Aerial Pesticide Exposure Increases the Risk of Developmental Delay and Autism Spectrum Disorder.”‘

wait. Autism is a birth defect caused by a virus? No way. It couldn't possibly find it's way into needles now could it?

Unfortunately the paper this is based on is "not available for viewing at this time"

The Americam Association of Paedeatrics article on it (https://www.aap.org/en-us/about-the-aap/aap-press-room/pages/Aerial-Spraying-to-Combat-Mosquitos-Linked-to-Increased-Risk-of-Autism-in-Children.aspx?nfstatus=401&nftoken=00000000-0000-0000-0000-000000000000&nfstatusdescription=ERROR%3a+No+local+token) from Singular's post..

I highly doubt this. When I was a kid in the 60's/70's the city sprayed for mosquitos every summer. They used to have a truck driving up and down the streets fogging the air around it. No one I knew ever had autism. We used to ride our bikes behind the truck... look how I turned out:)

The paper was an abstract so not sure how much of it was actually available to read anyway. Seems a lot of these things are behind "industry" paywalls. Will keep an eye out for it and link back here if I find a source. thx

Interesting you mention that. My city is basically built on a swamp. Some parts of it still remain although they are talking about turning another large section of what remains into a trucking highway complete with unlawful tolls. Anyway those remaining visible swamps used to be regularly sprayed. I think at some point a couple decades ago they stopped.

Occasionally the city gets blanketed in fog, which seems natural enough. Today was one of those days. In the few minutes it took for me to walk to my car this morning I developed a bit of a itchy flemmy throat. The kind that doesn't quite clear after a cough. The kind you get as a cold/flu starts to set in. Sitting in the car I got to wondering the if fog was natural after all. It had never occured to me before that they could "fog" us during the night.

I wonder if this is Eucalyptus oil with Lemon oil added or is the oil from the Lemon Eucalyptus tree? I parked under some of these trees this morning. When the air is moist and the sun is out the fragrance is very strong and pleasant. A favourite tree of mine. They grow quite tall as well. I'd guess 45+ feet. At sunset they take on a strange 3D look that makes you think you are looking at one of those 3D cards from a cereal packet that When you bend them or look from the side they appear 3D.

Lemon Eucalyptus Oil As Effective As DEET, Confirms CDC

By Amanda Froelich (http://www.trueactivist.com/author/amandaf/) This is the first time a plant-based mosquito repellent has been endorsed by the CDC.

Whether you loathe mosquito bites or are concerned about illnesses such as malaria and the Zika virus (http://www.trueactivist.com/new-evidence-suggests-monsanto-larvicide-is-to-blame-for-zika-virus-epidemic/), it’ll be a necessity to protect yourself from the nagging insects this spring, summer, and fall. Luckily, a natural remedy (http://www.trueactivist.com/8-natural-mosquito-repellents-to-get-rid-of-mosquitoes/)exists which is just as effective as repellents, which contain the pesticide DEET (N,N-diethyl meta-toluamide), and is endorsed by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).

The government organization, located in Atlanta, GA, recently approved a non-toxic, plant-based insect repellent called Oil of Lemon Eucalyptus. MatterMore reports (https://mattermore.wordpress.com/2011/05/02/cdc-says-lemon-eucalyptus-as-effective-as-deet/) that when the oil of lemon eucalyptus was tested against mosquitos found in the United States, it provided protection similar to repellents containing DEET.

Until recently, concoctions that contain DEET were the only recommended repellents by the CDC. This is the first time the organization has endorsed a natural, plant-based alternative. (http://www.trueactivist.com/9-healing-plants-found-in-your-backyard/)

That's why I prefer using natural remedies to protect myself from mosquitoes. Herbal and citrus sprays are good for that purpose. Basil, peppermint, lemon balm, wormwood, and tansy are good mosquito repellents too. Here are some tips (https://pestcontrolhacks.com/get-rid-of-mosquitoes-and-sand-flies/) on how to get rid of bloodsuckers. Cranesbill in a pot can scare the mosquitoes off with its smell, just shake the leaves to increase the scent.

with all respect in case you authored this article Goldi, I fear it could deflect attention from what IMHO is the #1 reason for increased autism: vaccines bioweapons, of course. Injecting poison straight into the bloodstream, bypassing the natural respiratory/digestive tract defenses against environmental poisons, is the sure way to chemically lobotomize children.

and yes, (((they))) are doing it on purpose. >:D

DDT? Different agenda. :(

https://drhoffman.com/article/estrogen-dominance-syndrome-2/

We live in an estrogenic or feminizing environment. Xenoestrogens, such as PCBs, phthalates, pesticides and DDT, cause estrogenic effects. Although banned in 1972, DDT, like its breakdown product DDE, is a xenoestrogen, which is still present in the environment. Chlorine and hormone residues in meats and dairy products also can have estrogenic effects. In men, the estrogenic environment may result in declining quality of sperm or fertility rates. In women, it may lead to an epidemic of female diseases, all traceable to excess estrogen/deficient progesterone. It is critical to incorporate a pure, clean diet consisting of organic foods whenever possible in an effort to decrease exposure to harmful xenoestrogens.

Edit to add: Whoops I was wrong. Just came across this:

Scientific American (https://www.scientificamerican.com/article/autism-and-ddt-what-1-million-pregnancies-can-mdash-and-cant-mdash-reveal/) August 16, 2018; Autism and DDT Association

But when they measured DDT by-product levels in the blood samples, they found that mothers with high concentrations of this chemical—those in the top quartile—were 32% more likely than women with lower DDT levels to give birth to children who developed autism. The likelihood that a child with autism accompanied by intellectual disability was twice as high in mothers with elevated DDT levels compared to those with lower levels.
