Bit discouraged about our health care system.

Been fighting a heck of a bad cold, for the past three weeks. Well, going back to work in a couple of days, we work long hours, sometimes up to 18 hours in a day, not easy work.

My family begged me, to make sure I didn't have pneumonia. They think if I go back to work, I'll die. So, I caved and went to the urgent care facility. They rejected me. I walked out. Their computer system, for some reason, didn't recognize me as a person with coverage. My company pays over $1400 a month, for medical...

I get back to my folks, explain I've been denied coverage. I can't get checked out. I don't know if I have pneumonia or not. I'm coughing up a lot of nasty shit.

I'm all alone. White guy, no help anywhere.

Don't worry, I'm a tough guy, but this sucks. I feel like a big pussy asking for help. Fuck this shit. I'm going to work. If help isn't welcome, I'm not welcoming it.

my method is to go to bed, bed clothes, a towel across where I lay. I wrap myself in towels and as much warm stuff as I can. I have several spare towels to swap out as they get damp. Blankets, quilts or doona's or what ever you call them over the top. If your mattress is on an open base like a slat base - chill air can get up from underneath. Put something on the matress to block that cold air.

I have water available - not chilled. I sweat as much as I can and what ever is coughed up goes out.

Swap damp towels with dry towels to make sure I don't get a deeper chill. I might have juice or something, again not chilled.

Pneumonia is when the chest/lung lining is infected. Your body core temp gets too low and goes lower. Staying warm kills the bugs. It can take a couple days. Longest I've needed is 3 days. Hot easy to eat meals are good. Soups of course.

For the throat I gargle salt water. Basically when ever I get up to change towels etc.

If you are not 100% better by the time works starts you will need to take time off. I mean 100%, not 99%. But you should be able to nail it by then.

You probably need to bring the insurance card with you, most non public insurance uses different numbers than yout SS#.

That's actually what ended up happening, I got a hold of someone at the union this morning and got everything straighten out. The union was closed when I went to the hospital yesterday afternoon. I never thought a hospital would turn a patient away, you always hear about illegal aliens just getting treated and released, no problem. I guess if you are "privileged", not the case, lol. Get high quality oil of oregano, take a ton of Vitamin C, and take a bunch of probiotics when you go to bed.

Go to a health food store now and get everything. You want the more expensive oil of oregano. Take it 3x a day. Gaia is a fairly good brand.
