If it's such a good engine how come it's not in use?

lol

If this engine is sooooo awesome how come it hasn't been successfully moved to operational status over the past 20 years?? Seems like a sufficient amount of time to get it to that point IF it were actually viable.

Meanwhile, the ONLY way to get to the ISS at this time is via the RUSSIAN space program.

Some dung beetles are so caught up in their worship of their shit-lord Satan they unable to break out of their delusional state.

How do you know its not in use?
There are skunk works that are top secret.
That video was found deep on a server that the guy mentions NASA may want it taken down.
NASA has stuff that is not to be shown to the public.
Russia?
Their stuff is abandoned and rusting away...........your kenite satanic communism didnt work so it set russia back to where they will never ever catch up.

And yet theres no russian video of anything they have like it?
Russia is still in the ice age compared to what we have.......that was 20 years ago.
What do you think they learned from this engine that they used in next generation engines? And yet russia doesnt have anything to learn from. They are still thinking dogfighting .............something way in the past.
Its like taking a musket to an AR15 battle.

Humm, no cat in this fight...

Still seems to have a few problems, tho the biggest one is I suspect is the manufacturing base does not want to do a major retooling. (huge bucks)

http://www.aerospaceweb.org/design/aerospike/x33.shtml

Then also it seems they are more complex and cost more than the traditional use once and throw it away, type engines.

Tho spacex if they ever get a reliable retrieval system in booster recovery for reuse, we just may see this type of engine become common.

(which I do believe they will, along with shutting down Russian flights at least for transporting us astronauts to the ISS, they (spacex) have a system in development at this time, tho no human flights ..yet.

Think this engine would be a great choice for a recoverable system, once the bucks and research (same thing mostly) could be done.

The ruskys are nowhere close to re-flying any of their hardware, we are !

Tho once they and the Chinese steal the technology they will catch up.

Imho.

The Russians successfully flew their space shuttle Buran REMOTELY without a crew.

I guess we're the winner all around

And I agree - the US gov't is not afraid at all to waste any human lives - soldiers especially

The Russians didn't see financial viability of a space shuttle since they don't run up endless debt like the Satan worshipers in the District.

Yup, then they just abandoned it. It's still in the hanger collecting dust and dirt. What a wasteful species we are

Or maybe the need for a heavy lift capability, if it works don't fuck with it, plus the expense.

I think the soviet system crumbled a few years later, which we may do someday, but who truly really knows?

Bunch of evil state wise in this world, still both in the us and old ussr plus elsewhere.

Satan has always been more of a human thing when it comes to hurt to others, ether personal, state or country.

Remember komrad, we have a member here that still thinks that man has not been into space and the world is flat as grandmaw emas tits.. (or was that wicked wanda's ?)

All of course stolen or copied technology...actually both. Not much of anything that russia has is invented by them. They are cursed s God does not bless His enemies He'll use them for a purpose, but never blesses them and hence why they cheat, murder, steal and slither on this earth.

And that's the problem - they should be able to just print money like we do, then that would never be an issue.
Our debt climbs by the trillions - doesn't matter to most voters and US gov't projects are never effected

Maybe off topic..No differently off topic..

MR ?

You sling satin around a bunch, my question to you is what do you believe?

You and trump both seem to hit a religious belief, but in many ways those beliefs could be considered sideways to many.

What would be your perfect society/world and or society?

Bunch here want to tear down the existing systems, which in many ways I am in that crowd, but many here want to go to extremes at least to my thinking.

Do you believe for the good of the few or the many?

And I mean not for the leaches but for all that have worked and never ask for help, unless they are pushed against a wall and have no other options.

And then ask for help, until if able to get back upon their feet if able?

The title is misleading. All I see is maybe an example of a very large afterburner like system.

I remember one of the first times I saw thrust vectoring on a Marine Harrier. Flew into Jacksonville, went to hover, went inverted, pilot punched out, right straight into the runway and the aircraft fell straight on top of him. Ouch!
