Prospective bidders, I am honored and humbled to announce the sale of an American Firearm Icon. The firearm for sale is the firearm that was used to defend my life and end the brutal attack from Trayvon Martin on 2/26/2012. The gun is a Kel-Tec PF-9 9mm. It has recently been returned to me by the Department of Justice. The pistol currently has the case number written on it in silver permanent marker. Many have expressed interest in owning and displaying the firearm including The Smithsonian Museum in Washington D.C. This is a piece of American History. It has been featured in several publications and in current University text books. Offers to purchase the Firearm have been received; however, the offers were to use the gun in a fashion I did not feel comfortable with. The firearm is fully functional as the attempts by the Department of Justice on behalf of B. Hussein Obama to render the firearm inoperable were thwarted by my phenomenal Defense Attorney. I recognize the purchaser's ownership and right to do with the firearm as they wish. The purchaser is guaranteed validity and authenticity of the firearm. SANFORD, Fla. (AP) — The pistol former neighborhood watch volunteer George Zimmerman used in the fatal shooting of Trayvon Martin is going up for auction online.

In an interview with Orlando, Florida, TV station WOFL, Zimmerman said he had just gotten the pistol back from the U.S. Justice Department, which took it after he was acquitted in Martin's 2012 shooting death.

"And I thought it's time to move past the firearm," Zimmerman told the station. "And if I sell it and it sells, I move past it. Otherwise, it's going in a safe for my grandkids and never to be used or seen again."

The auction listing on GunBroker.com lists the gun as a 9 mm Kel-Tec PF-9 pistol. The auction begins Thursday at 11 a.m. EDT and the bidding starts at $5,000.

The auction listing also says a portion of the proceeds will go toward fighting against violence by the Black Lives Matter movement against law enforcement, combatting anti-gun rhetoric of Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton and ending the career of Angela Corey, who led the prosecution against him.

When asked what he thought of people who would be opposed to auctioning the gun, Zimmerman said: "They're not going to be bidding on it, so I couldn't care less about them."

Zimmerman has said he was defending himself when he shot and killed Martin, an unarmed black 17-year-old. The shooting sparked protests and a national debate about race relations.

"The Trayvon Martin Foundation is committed to its mission of ending senseless gun violence in the United States," read a statement an attorney for Martin's family gave the Florida station. "This election season, we are laser focused on furthering that mission. As such, the foundation has no comment on the actions of that person."

Zimmerman said he has received death threats but has decided not to cower.

"I'm a free American," he said. "I can do what I want with my possessions."

George Zimmerman: Trayvon's Parents 'Didn't Raise Their Son Right'


George Zimmerman insulted Trayvon Martin's parents in a new interview with The Daily Beast (http://www.thedailybeast.com/articles/2016/05/17/george-zimmerman-taunts-trayvon-martin-s-parents-they-didn-t-raise-their-son-right.html?via=desktop&source=twitter)this week, and expressed no remorse for fatally shooting their 17-year-old son in 2012.

“They didn’t raise their son right. He attacked a complete stranger and attempted to kill him,” Zimmerman told the news site in an article published Tuesday. “Sybrina Fulton and Tracy Martin did everything they could to capitalize on her son’s death. She was never a mother figure to him. Tracy Martin couldn’t have cared less about their son. He treated him like a dog without a leash.”

The former neighborhood watch volunteer was acquitted in the 2012 shooting of Trayvon Martin in a gated Florida community.

On Tuesday, Zimmerman put the 9mm handgun he used to kill Martin up for auction on UnitedGunGroup.com. Bidding ended at $138,900, with a user named "John Smith" placing the final bid before the auction closed, The Orlando Sentinel reported (http://www.orlandosentinel.com/news/trayvon-martin-george-zimmerman/os-george-zimmerman-gun-auction-live-20160517-story.html). The newspaper noted that it is unclear whether the final bid was legitimate or if the sale was finalized.

The Kel-Tec PF-9 pistol was listed on GunBroker.com last week, but the listing was later pulled, The Sentinel said. A similar listing on United Gun Group was pulled on Saturday after bogus bidders drove up the price to more than $66 million.

In the interview with The Daily Beast, Zimmerman also defended his attempts to seek $100,000 to sell the gun as a symbol of American history, saying he initially wanted to keep the gun.

“If I have to live my life and if I have to go about my business as a normal person, then I would do that. However, I’m not afforded that luxury anymore,” he told The Daily Beast. “You guys. The media. The masses. The Fulton-Martin family. They took that from me.”

Twitter users lashed out at the media for publishing Zimmerman's comments.
