The poll should ask which Jew owned/Jew coached team of schwartza's will win
Dan Gilbert Zionist owner of the Cleveland Cavs
January 17, 1962 —
Dear Cleveland Cavaliers owner Dan Gilbert,
You didn't have to do that.
The fans already turned against LeBron James. Your former player proved to be a self-absorbed, self-promoting, coattail-riding traitor. You should have taken the high road. You should have not written that letter.
You came off angry, bitter, and whiny. Your overuse of CAPITALIZATION and the Comic Sans font made you look amateurish. LeBron was already a bad guy; there was no need to pile it on. You sounded like a baby whose favorite toy was taken away.
And you know what's the worst thing to come out of it?
People now want to find out if that angry, bitter, whiny Dan Gilbert could possibly be Jewish.
Verdict: Jew.
David Blatt Zionist coach of the Cavs
May 22, 1959 —
Did you know that there is a basketball coach who recently coached his team to one of the most prestigious titles in the world? Did you know that he has also won a major international championship? As well as an Olympic medal? No?
Did you know that the last team he coached, Maccabi Tel Aviv, was a huge underdog that became the champion of Europe? Did you know that he has won 17 different titles on various levels? No?
Did you know that he is American who coached the Russian national basketball team? Did you know the Russians actually loved having an American in charge? No?
Did you know that he is Jewish? No?
Well, he was just named the coach of the NBA's Cleveland Cavaliers. So we guess you'll find out soon enough.
Verdict: Jew.
Joe Lacob Zionist owner of the Golden State Warriors
January 10, 1956 —
Athletes love their Jesus, don't they? So often you hear players thanking the Lord, organizing team prayers... If Jesus has a home in America, it's inside a professional locker room.
One team that embraced Jesus were the Golden State Warriors. Head coach Mark Jackson had a rah-rah approach that bonded the team with Christianity. And it seemed to work, as the downtrodden franchise made back-to-back playoff appearances for the first time in two decades.
And then, Jackson was fired. Oh, there were many reasons: behind the scenes, the team was a complete mess. Assistant coaches were mysteriously fired in mid-season. Back rooms were filled with drama. Jackson antagonized many around him. And then there was Jesus. The San Francisco Bay Area is notoriously dogma-free; many, including Jewish owner Joe Lacob, were not exactly amused with Jackson's approach.
So, Lacob fired Jackson and replaced him with Steve Kerr, who is not exactly religious. The new coach turned the Warriors from a just-above-average team to perhaps the league's best.
Is it because Lacob and Kerr removed Christianity from the locker room? Let's quote baseball player Will Clark: "You'd better get out there and do it yourself. The Lord didn't hang that slider."
Verdict: Jew.

I greatly enjoyed the NBA when there were a few awesome White players:
Ainge (yes, cheka), Bird, Rambis, McHale, Bobby (SecDef) Jones, Laimbeer, Mullin, etc.

(Bobby Jones)
Every pro sport has now been ruined by diversity and it's like watching Rikers Island prison ball ... except the NHL; (((they're working on it))).
When I was growing up, my coaches were extremely strict about adhering to the fundamentals of the game.
My HS basketball coach was more intense than Bobby Knight***. You didn't travel, double dribble, change your pivot foot, fail to run the offense, fail to play defense, fail to make free throws, act/dress like a punk, or he'd run your ass until you puked. Now, the game is so negrofied/pathetic, they don't even follow the fundamentals or play by the rules, and the refs let them get away with it! Of course, the overwhelmingly White crowd doesn't understand this and only care about being entertained.
I'd love to sit down and watch a game with Bobby Knight. I bet he just shakes his head the entire time and probably curses a lot.
I was in SanFran this time last year when the Warriors won. Very strange to see wealthy White SF hipsters celebrating in the street that the nigger ballers in Oaktown won ... they represent us, yo!
*** My HS BBall coach eventually became an assistant for the Cavs (no longer); I bet the pampered nigs disliked and complained about his intensity. He is a frighteningly intense person.

Osoab, the guy narrating your Steph Curry sold his soul video in your reply 32 was a little too overcooked himself to be convincing. He mostly banged on Curry still photos where he argues SC is making 'lluminati satanic hand signs. Well SC is highly photographed... I just can't get my head around satan making the ball shoot straight for all SC's 3 pointers-- not to mention SC has his share of misses, incl air balls.
Most disturbing in that 15 min vid was the shot of Lebron wearing a big pyramid/eye tshirt. But also SC's having the tattoo about love...something in f'n HEBREW on his wrist... wtf? Plus allegedly another tat on his tricept area with pyramids? I need a closer look at that one!

I enjoy NAIA the most. Everyone that shouldn't be playing is weeded out, but they aren't athletic freaks either like the upper levels of college. They can't just drive in and slam it every time. They have to do things like pass the ball, run plays and take jump shots.
It also seems to me that there is a higher percentage of whites in the NBA than in NCAA D1. Probably because there is more finesse, teamwork and skill in the NBA, whereas D1 is thugball.

I wasn't able to see these games live on teevee, nor have i found a way to listen to a radio stream though I may find the latter if I tried hard enough... I just seem to yield various errors at the obvious picks like nba.com, espn, bay area's KNBR 680 etc. So I've been limited to the auto updating score page at nba.com during the live games, then YT highlights & commentary afterwards.
So I only learn juicy details, like Curry getting fouled out on a technical in the 4th Q, afterwards! First Curry foul out since dec '13; then ejected, first in his career :(. Was not long after being snuffed by Lebron, who showboated afterwards... Curry lost his cool shortly after and threw his mouth guard "at a (CLE) fan."
Anyway I see how CLE shut down Curry & Thompson, a winning formula obviously. Happy to see a 7 game slug fest, not a short lopsided 4 game sweep. :) Game 7 in Oakland Sun 8p ET.

^^ I was hoping to find a Lebron postgame, guess he didn't do one? Figure he'd wanna get in GSW's head like Ali, pre game 7; but that could, & in this instance most likely would, humiliatingly backfire Sun, in front of GSW's Oakland. :)

During the 2012–13 season, Curry set the NBA record for three-pointers made in a regular season with 272. He surpassed that record in 2015 with 286, and again in 2016 with 402. During the 2013–14 season, he and teammate Klay Thompson were nicknamed the "Splash Brothers" en route to setting the NBA record for combined three-pointers in a season with 484, a record they broke the following season (525) and again in the 2015–16 season (678).

[QUOTE=PatColo;838992]I wasn't able to see these games live on teevee, nor have i found a way to listen to a radio stream though I may find the latter if I tried hard enough...
:) Game 7 in Oakland Sun 8p ET.

they chased/trapped the gs point guard again. this time the two guard didnt have a hot night to keep them close. the no name big man for cle had a big game in the paint and the big two scorers both played well on offense. gs got nothing from most of their lineup

Personally, I think when Lebron wants to, he can take over a game. When GS goes small, he is the tallest, strongest, fastest player on the court.

Steph's heeb tat on his wrist is curious indeed. Are you aware of him explaining it anywhere? That Curry = satanist vid posted on the last page here somewhere says it reads something about love... forgot now. Same vid claimed he also has a tat on his inside bicept, pyramid I think? So I went dinjoogle image hunting for it, couldn't find anything.
Steph's relative LACK of tats was something I liked about him... don't care for them myself. The full on lizard skin shit like Lebron or Rodman etc-- just f'n gross. :(
His eyes are light, like an olive green I think; but I know what you mean re a "glazed look." Might just stem from his unusual skin/eye color combo... with light skin; got some white in his ancestry somewhere.

49-42 GSW @ halftime bits'es. :) I can't see the game again but halftime score suggests strong defense.
edit: don't know what just happened; nba.com reported the above when I arrived at the page ~5 mins ago; but just returned to the page and it reports with ~five mins remaining in the 3rd Q it's 60-59 CLE... I think the above false report was pulled from cache, or... dunno. :(??
edit 2: yep it's nba.com; been hung at 4:33 left in the 3rd q for me for a long time now; 65-59 CLE -- nba. com is malfunctioning. But here's a prediction: neck & neck through thee 4th q, GSW down by 2 with seconds remaining in the game, Curry bangs home a 3pt'er from waaay down town... GSW wins by one pt; Curry's cemented his place as best player on the planet. Why not; makes for a good story! :D Oh yeah, and Lebron bows in reverence, chanting "I'm not worthy! I'm not woooorthy!"

An incoming 757 jet got a standing ovation from more than 10,000 people early Monday afternoon.
From left, Kyrie Irving, Lebron James, Kevin Love, Tristan Thompson, JR Smith come off the plane with the Larry O’Brien Trophy. BRUCE BISHOP/CHRONICLE
Of course, all members of the 2016 NBA champion Cleveland Cavaliers were inside, fresh from a return trip from San Francisco that included a pit stop in Las Vegas for a little celebrating.
When the plane touched down at 12:38 p.m. at the Atlantic Aviation runway across from the
IX Center, title-starved Cleveland fans, who had waited 52 years for a major pro sports championship, went bonkers.
The heat and humidity were oppressive, but nothing dampened the spirit of Cavs fans, who reserved their loudest ovation for NBA Finals MVP LeBron James.
Clad in a sky blue Ultimate Warrior “professional” wrestling T-shirt, James was the last player to exit, and he was clutching the Larry O’Brien Trophy given annually to the
NBA’s championship team.
“This is for you, Cleveland,” the Akron native shouted into a cordless microphone.
Queen’s “We Are the Champions” played through loudspeakers as Cavs players got off the plane, with many stopping near the top of the steps to video their welcome-home party.
Colorful shooting guard J.R. Smith emerged shirtless, backup guard Matthew Dellavedova urged on the raucous crowd and seldom-used 7-foot-1 center Timofey Mozgov raised both his arms high in the air in triumph.
The Cavs didn’t formally address the crowd, but James did take the Larry O’Brien Trophy near a fence so some lucky fans could get a closer look at it.
ALEC SMITH / GAZETTE Cavaliers star LeBron James emerged from a black van for about 90 seconds Monday afternoon on Crystal Lake Road in Bath Township to acknowledge a crowd estimated at 2,000 who gathered nearby his home to congratulate him and share in the moment of winning the 2016 National Basketball Association championship.
An even bigger event will take place Wednesday in downtown Cleveland when the Cavs hold a victory parade. The exact route and other details still were being worked out between the Cavs and city officials Monday night, but more information is expected to be released today.
A number of Cavs players and coach Tyronn Lue are expected to speak at the end of the parade, and they will have plenty to talk about after Cleveland became the first team to win a championship after trailing 3-1 in the best-of-seven NBA Finals. On 32 prior occasions, teams down 3-1 lost the series.
“What’s the record now?” Cavs point guard Kyrie Irving asked Sunday night at the interview podium at Oakland’s Oracle Arena, less than an hour after hitting a 3-pointer with 53 seconds left that propelled Cleveland to a 93-89 victory over the Golden State Warriors in Game 7. “One-and-32 never felt so good. … Vegas said it couldn’t be done.
Everyone in the world said it couldn’t be done.”
The Cavs did it, and they did it against the same team that had beaten them in the NBA Finals a year ago. Golden State went on to win a league-record 73 games in the 2015-16 regular season, but the Cavs, against seemingly insurmountable odds, came back to win the first title in their 46-year history.
That’s why more than 1,000 fans were waiting outside James’ Bath Township home when he returned from the airport Monday afternoon. The gracious 31-year-old addressed the crowd for about a minute and a half, at one point saying to huge cheers, “I’m just a kid from Akron, Ohio.”

Final score 192-182, West.
this "game" was a flippin fraud! What I speculated above at halftime, I've concluded was exactly the case now after the 2nd half.
there was an obvious defense stand down on both sides, with the agenda being to pump those scores up as high as possible, and in the most flashy hot doggy way. The 3-pointer attempts were off the charts; with it often feeling like I was merely watching the teams run back & forth down the court, stop & quick-shoot from the 3-point line, make or miss; then depending on who got the rebound, there may or may not be some real basketball inside the 3pt line; but with both defenses plainly standing down, that would be resolved within a few seconds. And if defense team got the 3pt attempt rebound, it would just be the same sequence at the other end of the court. Inside the 3 pt line action was all about the fanciest "best dunk contest" scores; ally-oops; one "highlights" play was Curry banging the ball off the backboard, & (eventual MVP) Anthony Davis catching & slamming it, ally-oop style.
Total staged Harlem Globetrotters action.
The game was also packed with commercials; noticeably higher signal to noise ratio than with regular (real) NBA games... and the comm's too often cut into the playtime! :(

http://www.thedailybeast.com/articles/2017/03/02/meet-the-cavaliers-conspiracy-stars-andrew-pizzagate-bogut-and-kyrie-flat-earth-irving.html
With the news that the defending champion Cleveland Cavaliers will sign veteran Andrew Bogut, the basketball team loaded with all-stars now also boasts the most conspiratorially minded roster in a league that’s had its share of conspiracy theories and, now, theorists.
]Bogut rarely had much of an impact this season, save for the fact that he’s the only player in the NBA publicly Just Asking Questions about Pizzagate.
While he claims he’s not a political ideologue, for years, Bogut’s Twitter feed has been peppered with grumping about the grave threat that “Social Justice Warriors” pose to the very fabric of a functioning democracy and he’s made more than a few comments in the past about his fellow NBA’ers that smack of sneering bigotry. Libertarian or right-wing bent notwithstanding, at some point Bogut was radicalized, and in 2016, he began following a slew of alt-right Twitter accounts. Shortly thereafter, he threw himself into the Pizzagate conspiracy-mongering.
As the criticism mounted, Bogut found a friendly reporter to reject any connections to white nationalism. That said, he never actually went so far as to call Pizzagate a ridiculous fever dream. Quasi-denials from Bogut or not, some sleuths at r/The_Donald later speculated that Bogut’s absence from the lineup was a form of “punishment” for daring to speak truth to power. (It was not. He was injured.

The deficit got as high as 22 pts, and it looked like it was to be an embarrassing rout for GSW. :( Spurs strategy was clear; shut down the Splash Brothers: Steph Curry & Clay Thompson, who were each double, even triple teamed, to prevent the bro's usual "raining down 3's" shtick. The SA crowd was ecstatic; like, a nice TX style welcome, for a guest whose star shines a little TOO brightly! YEE HAW! Q1 ended 33-17.
2nd Q, GSW adapted to SAS' game, and spanked them back. With ~3 mins left in the 2nd Q, GSW had TIED THE SCORE. Please understand, TX; there's a reason why "The Dubs (http://www.answers.com/Q/Why_are_the_golden_state_warriors_called_the_dubs)" star shines so brightly! By ~3 mins into the 3rd Q, Dubs took their first lead, with a 3 pt'er by Thompson. They maintained that lead through the end of the game, which also saw a rare event: SAS fans leaving early, to get a head start on the exiting herds.

Second to last game of regular season tonight; Utah Jazz broke a 14 game GSW win streak, winning 105-99.
Game Recap (http://www.nba.com/warriors/gameday/20170410/recap)
Jazz just came out & played hard as hell; they were hungry! They're a fine team, and of their last 10 matchups against the Dubs, they were a humiliating 1-9. And too many GSW shots weren't dropping, as well as several needless fouls, turnovers & mistakes (like, Green NOT nutting any of UT's key players... :(). GSW was without Splash Brother Clay Thompson, and their other superstar Kevin Durant was only on the 2nd game since his return after missing 19 games due to a knee injury, so he's still seeking to regain his old 'rhythm'... in particular, his 3pt attempts just aren't dropping. Normally a 3-pt sharpshooter, KD's been zero out of... about a dozen+ attempts since his return last Sat. Curry scored 28; hitting 6 or 7 of his signature 3-pointers; I need to double check.
Last game of the reg season next Wed, GSW v LA Lakers ought to be a pushover. LAL's season record is an abysmal 31% wins, vs GSW's 82% wins. Next best team in the league, San Antonio Spurs, boasts a measly 75%. UT Jazz are 62% after tonight.

Warriors completed a 4 game sweep of Portland Trailblazers tonight, 128-103. Curry hit 37 pts including 7 3-pointers before sitting out the 4th Q. Even Draymond 'Accidental Nut Shot' Green, a power forward, hit 5 3-pointers. Game was virtually over 8 mins into the 1st Q when the Dubs had already achieved a 26 pt lead, at 35-9. Q1 ended 45-22, after Dubs missing 5 free throws in the Q! Dubs lead through the rest of the game ranged from 18-32 pts, ending with a 25 pt win. Game Recap (http://www.nba.com/warriors/gameday/20170424/recap)
Blazer's superstar is 26yo Oakland native Damian Lillard, who I was inspired to pull up on wikipedia (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Damian_Lillard). Got a chuckle noticing Lillard's wiki entry has at least a couple gag lines, like this pic & caption:
https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/a/a2/Damian_Lillard.jpg/220px-Damian_Lillard.jpg (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Damian_Lillard.jpg)
Lillard looking like he wants to die knowing
he's stuck with a shitty franchise
And his introductory paragraph ends with the sentence, "He has also carried the Blazers despite having a bag of chips as teammates." ;D
This graphic shows the progression of the playoffs: http://www.nba.com/playoffs ATM, Cleveland is the only other team to have already advanced to the semifinals yesterday (Sun) with a four game sweep vs Indiana Pacers. Dubs won't play again until Sun or Tue next week, depending on outcome of the "best of 7" contest below them in the graphic-- namely LA Clippers v Utah Jazz, currently with 2 wins each. I imagine Dubs would like to play Jazz again, after Jazz recently broke a 14 game Dubs win streak; see my reply #101 above.
If Dubs remain unstoppable through the finals, they'll most likely face either (Eastern Conference teams) 1. Boston, 2. Cleveland, or 3. Toronto for the championship. These were the top 3 Eastern teams of the regular season (http://www.nba.com/standings/)... but the best of their records- Boston at 64.6%, is still inferior to the 3rd best Western team record (Houston's 67.1%).

LA Clippers v Utah Jazz in the 4th Q now; 69-61 Jazz atm with 10 mins left in the game. These teams are 2-2 games now, with that resolving shortly. The 2 teams had the same W/L% during regular season, at 62.2% each (http://www.nba.com/standings/). Winner of this pairing plays Dubs in semifinals.
edit, 7:43 left now, LAC 3-pointer just tied it 69-69. Okay no more play by plays; will edit this soon with final score. They'll be playing at least 1 more game anyways.
edit 2: 96-92 Jazz. Next game back in Salt Lake City; Jazz has a 3-2 game advantage now.
I'd sort of like to see Jazz win this UTA/LAC pairing, if only coz on Apr 10th they snapped the Dubs' 14 game win streak; so a nice best of 7 (with another Dubs 4 game sweep ;D) will show 'em who's boss! I never did post the ~10 min highlights of that GSW/UTA game in my reply #101 above; it came down to the final seconds:

GSW finished another 4-game sweep last night, against their semifinals opponent Utah Jazz, to advance to quarter finals. At the end of last night's win, talking heads noted that of the 4 games (48 mins each, = 192 mins of play time); Utah only led GSW for a cumulative 11.xx mins of them.
Only other team to have two consecutive 4-game sweeps was Cleveland, now also a quarter-finalist.
http://www.nba.com/playoffs
GSW's next opponent is still TBD; either Houston or San Antonio, who're at halftime of their game 5 right now. They're tied at 2 vs 2 games now.
UPDATE: SAS won ^ in OT, final 110-107; 3 games to 2 now. 1-2 more SAS-HOU games now to win best of 7, and go against GSW in the quarter-finals.
Whether it's SAS or HOU to play GSW next, here's hoping it's another sweep. :) Coz another GSW-CLE championship would be kool. Be surprised if any team has a "16 game sweep" through the finals; so I'm waiting for GSW's first playoff loss.

yeah I missed that ^ before; was busy composing my last reply!
based on regular season W/L percentages, CLE was 5th overall, tied with LAC & TOR with 62.2%
then there's deeper stats like avg win margins, & avg points per game. Not sure where to find those numbers. But I felt like "the real finals" was to be the GSW-SAS matchup, which GSW swept. After tonight, hard to imagine GSW not sweeping CLE, barring rigging intervention from (((the owners))).
I just saw a partial post game interview with Lebron. Asked what was different this year vs GSW, he quickly snapped back "KD" (Kevin Durant who scored 38 this game).

Game 4 time in CLE; GSW's up 3 games to 0, tonight should finish 'em off. :D I recall hearing someone note that it had been decades (?) since a team had swept an entire (16 game) finals series.
One talking head made an interesting point-- said, best thing to happen to GSW was Green getting expelled from last year's finals game 5, coz that prolly made them lose the finals to CLE after game 7. Heartbreaker, yeah, but not winning the championship made GSW eligible to acquire Kevin Durant last summer, which made them such a well rounded juggernaut this year.

CLE had an explosive Q1, finishing with 49 pts on the board. They're dropping 3s like the GSW Splash Brothers; scoring 13 3s in the first half. GSW has a pattern of having explosive 2nd halves though, so we'll see. Being down 18 pts is formidable!
Imagining GSW loses tonight, game 5 is next Mon in Oakland. I hope they're not just throwing games now, dropping their defenses for example, in the interest of maximizing $$$ for dajooz. :( Coz first half scoring for both teams was quite high.

yeah afraid you might be right. Tonight will be an acid test IMHO; Dubs are the superior team, and they've had 3 days off to post mortem game 4 & plug the holes. If game 4 was rigged, it had to be Dubs standing down their defense; coz they were only 1pt shy of their season/finals average score of ~117.x. But CLE were raining down the 3s, which are hard to defend against, just as they are a hard shot to make. Curry had an unusually weak first half; that's the only thing I can really identify as having gone wrong.
Players are all healthy, & home crowd advantage tonight. No excuses, 'cept for (((rigging))).

Warriors/Cav's Christmas game today, 12 PT 3 ET, ABC nationwide. First meetup since last years finals, when Warriors ('Dubs') beat Cavs in 6 games.
Dubs coming off a humiliating loss at home, to Denver Nug's Sat night, 96-81, breaking an 11 game Dubs win streak, which included 6 road wins. Team with the best 3pt % in the league, hit only 3 of their 27 3pt attempts, or 11% :o Watching that horror show was just watching a procession of 3pt attempts rimming out.
Dubs Dropped By Denver (http://www.nba.com/warriors/gameday/20171223/recap)
The best shooter on the planet, Steph Curry, remains out with an ankle injury. He *could* play today, but Dubs/Coach Kerr are playing it super safe, as Curry is so key-- he may/may-not play b4 New Years. KerrCo are playing it by the numbers: 1) get to playoffs, 2) win championship again. Compromising Curry's full recovery to fulfill fans' desire to see him play on Christmas Day, doesn't fit into the equation.

yeah you still can't really trust 'em between games. Last night I walked outside to find $XXX-Millionaires Kevin Durant & the visiting LeBron J together, working the hubcaps off my car! >:(
Dubs have an israeli (moroccan)-joo newly aquired this season; Omri Caspi (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Omri_Casspi). He's seen a lot of floor time this past couple weeks with the team plagued by injuries in their usual starting lineup. Caspi's proven himself quite good, from what I've seen. He looks basically white; straight brown hair not a joofro; big joowey beak on him though. Pretty sure he wants to take all my money, and never give it back to me. Throw the Joo Down the Well!
Dubs' only starting whitey, 6'11" center Zaza Pachulia (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zaza_Pachulia) of former soviet Georgia, is still out injured today. :(

If they would just ENFORCE the rules- one & a HALF steps are allowed. All the niggers take 2 MINIMUM and usually more. Day calls dat "aythletticizzm". I call it cheating. Its simple. Count. 1 step before a traveling violation, the next step cannot touch the ground. Whites have always been better shooters but when suppa niggah takes 3&4 steps to his highlight reel dunk it sucks.

not down with the get-whitey nba, but i do like the game of basketball. i play, i coach, kid plays college ball
interesting that the rockets have the most efficient offense in the history of the nba (so far this season). also read that the current rockets coach built the system that g.s. uses. dantoni doesnt get enough credit as an all-time great innovator
in the college game the coach at virginia, bennett, is also underrated. his blocker/mover offense is my favorite offense. i learned it from his dad's material (he invented it) and use it for my teams. son bennett has turned virginia into a powerhouse.
blocker/mover is beautiful and simple -- you have two or three blockers (screeners) and two or three movers (getting the screens set for them). from there you can build an infinite number or actions. i prefer to mostly let my teams freelance...with just a couple of guidelines to keep spacing. another great thing is that there are only two positions -- blocker or mover....simple and beautiful. no wasted time teaching 5 different jobs....easy to sub players in/out...the thing is awesome. and hardly anybody uses it....or even knows about it. kid bennett is changing that though - so my advantage is shrinking

I know re the Dubs, aside from their front line's extraordinary individual talent (last Sunday's NBA All-Star game was again dominated by 4 Dubs players (http://www.nba.com/allstar/2018/roster#/)), the main stat where they stand out is their ASSISTS (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Assist_(basketball)), averaging 30.5/game. Love it when on offense, they get into a blindingly fast passing routine which leaves defenders running around like chickens with their heads cut off, & Dubs eventually land the ball into an open 3-pt sharpshooter's hands (mainly Steph/Klay/KD), who then 'splash' a 3 with a quick catch-N-shoot.

Couldn't believe Portland Trailblazers beat Dubs again last night, 2nd time of 2 matchups this season, 125-108. POR blew out their own avg points/game of 105; while Dubs' sub par shooting (x Durant @ 40pts) kept them ~8 pts below their APG. Dubs were without starters Curry, Igoudala & West, plus 2 good rookies, and were playing the back end of a back-to-back after beating SAS Thu night in Oakland.

spurs scheme was outstanding -- hou only had one player that could dribble drive (beard). the rest were just spot up shooters. spurs extended all the way beyond 3pt line on all the shooters -- and didnt sag in to help on beard.
beard, having to do ALL of the dd, ran out of gas. rockets picked up cp to fix that problem. of course 9/10 so-called 'experts' didnt know that -- as they rambled on about them two not being able to play together

^ yeah nice to have a 2-2 series, in both East & West now. Tonight's GSW/HOU game was one of the first of the finals without a 'boring' 3rd/4th Q thanks to score getting all lopsided. GSW's work cut out for them with the switch back to HOU home court for the next 2 games. At least GSW has been exceptionally good on the road; best in the league I think.
If it's rigged, they're not being obvious about it. Sometimes pretty suspicious when 3s aren't dropping, in a big way. But it's not like that game in the finals last year, where Beard Harden threw the game against SAS in a totally obvious way. His 'performance' stood out like a sore thumb. Shameful. :(

and a dead heat at halftime tonight, 45-45 lol :D
U see ~10 mins b4 tipoff, buncha Santa Fe shooting event theatrics-- honor students hold US & TX flags, choir sings nat anthem, some speech I only heard part of.
I gather "something 'real', with casualties", happened @ Santa Fe last week. But that tonight, mixing the event with NBA in an emotion tugger way-- shades of the "sandy hoax survivors" singing nat anthem at the S'Bowl following the Dec '12 event. Those kids, whoever they were, had some kind of non-disclosure agreement prohibiting their discussing such a "once in a lifetime experience" (S'Bowl) with anyone!
They were all minors, IE too young to 'contract' !?! :o
*edit; final 98-94 HOU; 'nother nail biter to the end; & 4 pt HOU win. Series now 3-2 HOU; whoda guessed?!

both coaches shutting down the other team's scoring. back to back games with neither sniffing 100 - that's crazy for these two teams
you may have seen my comments about santa fe in the main thread. it did happen as reported. but don't know anything about the suspect, other than his main target was a girl that embarrassed him in front of the class. he pumped her full of hot lead
Astros also doing crap to 'honor' sf. chalk it up to marketing

The NBA Is Rigged
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2UJwa8g-IZE
By EconMatters
It has long been speculated that the NBA assigns certain refs to officiate games to get outcomes they want for either prolonging a series to get more game and advertising revenue or providing refereeing advantage where necessary to make certain more marketable NBA Finals take place which brings in higher ratings, more media coverage, and thus more money. I always say when in doubt, just follow the money trail.
This goes all the way back to the famous Lakers-Kings game 6 refereeing shenanigans where the NBA makes much more money if the large media market and sexy team the Los Angeles lakers advance to the NBA finals versus the small market Sacramento Kings without the likes of Kobe Bryant and Shaquille O'Neal.
Well even the casual NBA fan could see that the fix was on in the NBA last night as the NBA refs completely changed the tenor of the Houston Rockets and Golden State Warriors game last night right as the cash cow marketing machine Golden State Warriors where on the verge of being run out of the building.
The NBA is a often called a “Make or Miss League” because of the fact that if one team misses the level of talent is such that there is an immediate advantage gained by the defensive team that transitions to offense because this sets up a fast break the other direction against a defense that hasn't had time to set up its defense.
Well the lesser known truth is that the NBA has become a “Call Fouls or Don't Call Fouls League” which has the same result because if one team is allowed to foul the other team attacking or driving to the basket, or reach in and foul and cause a turnover, or body slam an opponent to the ground causing a missed shot these all set up fast break opportunities and often 4 on 5 scenarios on the other side of the court leading to easy baskets or wide open three pointers.
It was pretty obvious last night that the Houston Rockets were playing 5 on 8 from the start of the second quarter through the pivotal third quarter. The Houston Rockets made 8 out of 12 three pointers in the first quarter and were well on their way to upsetting the NBA`s Dream Team the Golden State Warriors.
The Warriors were desperate they went into desperation mode, their only option at that point was to overplay the three point line, force the rockets to drive to the basket, and foul on every play, hoping that the referees would give them the benefit of the doubt. After All, they are the Dream Team, the favored media darling, the marketing cash cow for the league, there is no way the NBA referees will let them lose this series!
This was the strategy, but the Golden State Warriors didn't really have to hope the referees would oblige, just look at Game 2 of the Pelicans Series in the previous round at Oracle Arena, the fix was on in that game, and the small media market Pelicans Team would have won that game if the NBA Refs didn't step in and determine that game in favor of the Warriors.
So the Warrior players know through experience that they can camp out in the lane with Draymond Green and not get an illegal defense call, knock players to the floor, set illegal moving screens on offense, reach in from behind when they are beat causing turnovers, and hand check and hold on every drive to the basket because they are going to get the “Dream Team Treatment” in the end from the referees. The warriors are actually pretty bad on defense if you call the game legitimately, they have a bunch of offensive players who are slight in build and can't guard a ham sandwich besides the licensed thug that is Draymond Green.
They have no hope for stopping drives to the bucket with a 6 foot 7 inch center the only thing standing in front of a made hoop on the defensive end of the floor. Golden State`s only defensive option to stop other teams from driving at will to the basket is to foul on every single drive! Steph Curry and Draymond Green would foul out by halftime if Warrior games were ever officiated correctly.
Steph cannot keep anybody in front of him, and reach fouls/hand checks on every single drive and Draymond grabs and holds much taller guys under the basket, and comes in to body slam opposing players as they blow past Steph Curry on every drive. The Golden State Warriors have always been given preferential treatment on the defensive end of the court because of the Branding of the Team and what this means to the NBA coffers from a money perspective.
They are very good offensively, and easy for the NBA to Sell to the public, so give them the benefit of the doubt on the defensive end of the court. In other words, for the sake of the NBA let them get away with employing a fouling on every drive strategy on defense, and we will just not make the call the majority of the time. They literally foul on every drive to the basket because they have no legitimate rim protection, and no other legitimate way to stop other teams from relentlessly attacking the basket except for routinely fouling on drives, thus daring the refs to make the call and upset the league office and revenue dollars of the NBA Marketing Machine.
The Golden State Warriors strategy is simple they can`t stop anybody driving legitimately, they have no center to speak of to protect the rim, so their only real option as a defensive strategy is to foul on every play, expect the referees to only call 15% of the actual fouls maybe 20% on a bad day, get away with and benefit from the other 60% where the other team is fouled but not called, and live with the miracle shots the opposing team makes on the other 20% that happen to go in through superhuman effort.
All this relies on the Branding Effect that they are the Golden State Warriors, the NBA Dream Team, there is no way the NBA is going to allow the Cash Marketing Cow that is the Dream Team not advance to the NBA Finals - we are entitled to preferential refereeing when necessary! And it sure was necessary last night, good job NBA you pulled out all the stops last night - you were going to make that happen one way or another just like you did to the Sacramento Kings in the 2002 NBA Playoffs!
It was real obvious what was going on last night as the ball would be knocked out of bounds by Golden State in a very obvious manner yet they got the ball back without discussion, they would get two ticky tack fouls on one end of the court, the rockets drive to the basket get knocked to the floor by two players in a no-brainer foul, and play on, and then another ticky tack touch foul on the other end.
There were three or four refereeing sequences in that game where it was very apparent the refereeing fix was on in that game, this was more than just good old home court calls, this was a rigged game with a massive agenda to do anything and everything possible to swing the momentum of that game!
Good job NBA you keep losing more credibility by the day, you allow a system where only 3 teams have a legitimate chance to compete for a championship every year, you fix games routinely through rigged officiating, either sending certain refs to various games who will guarantee a given outcome, or just blatant rigged officiating, and you now have the nerve to want in on the gambling money betted on your games - geez no conflict of interest looming there! Not going to watch a Golden State Warriors Finals - I can spot a Rigged Game or System a Mile Away!

^ tough for me to comment on last night's GSW-HOU ref'ing; I don't have much of an eye for the more nuanced fouls.
It was a remarkable turnaround no doubt; GSW down a max of 17 in Q1, down 10 at halftime; then 2nd half outscored HOU 64-25 !! :o
But explosive Q3s (esp) are a GSW trademark, incl the "Curry Flurry." Splash Bro's caught fire with Klay hitting 7 treys in the 2nd half & 9 overall; Steph hit 5 treys overall. 35 & 29 game pts respectively. You can't just turn on/off (esp ON) successful 3 attempts.
I'd be curious to see that 2nd half again, watching for rigging. Like, did Beard throw the game again, standing down? Frankly my attention was somewhat divided-- I was halfway resigned to GSW losing by end of 1st half. TV muted, I was surfing net as usual; looked up for a glance at the score at some point & said "HUH?!" :o Holding HOU to just 25pts in a whole half? Something's off there!

There was an interesting paragraph in the GSW game preview article today, "A Tale of Two Halves"-- broke down the H1 vs H2 cumulative scoring #s for both teams through the first 6 games. Kerr feigned "not knowing why the team is like that"... duh, like he's gonna reveal how they all gulp adrenochrome-rich childrens' blood @ halftime!>:D Anyway I closed that browser tab & now article is gone :(

Bay Area's a metroplex though; prolly bigger overall than HOU, and surely more 'monied' -- dunno, I'd need to see how (((they))) put these rigging equations together. :(??
2.5 mins left as I type, dubs up 9, looking like a done deal.

a real eye-opener for me - like i said, decades of watching the stuff - including the rockets facing nyc itself, when they beat the knicks for one of their titles. nothing compares to games 6, 7 of this series, a true spectacle of the hidden hand on a big stage

A similar "monied cities" case like GSW v HOU, could be made with the CLE/BOS matchup. Yankee/blue-blood/hi-tech BOS is surely wealthier (wages, cost of living) than rust belt CLE. & BOS finished bigly in the East conf reg season, well above CLE. But CLE took it in 7.
Does it all boil down to the national star appeal of King James? ??? Seems Beard/C.Paul would have similar national star-power draw.

Yes I can see a least a few of those fouls; didn't reflect well on the ref'ing beginning latter part of Q2. :( I still struggle to understand (((their))) incentive/motive for rigging in favor of another GSW-CLE Finale. I get the "King James" draw; but as to why GSW over HOU? Is it just that GSW-HOU are an "established rivalry" now? :(?? BA/hometown bias aside, I'd welcome seeing a Finale with HOU vs CLE, TOR, or BOS... something new; give a "new city" an NBA Championship thrill.

Wild first game last night... tied at halftime after a Curry buzzer beater trey from "way downtown"; then tied again at the end of Q4, after CLE's JRSmith's bewildering running out the clock rather than hustling to put up a game winning basket.... everyone was WTF?! It appeared Smith had in his mind, that CLE was ahead by 1 point, rather than tied as it was; so he ran out the clock so not to risk a missed shot & turnover in the final seconds?
So it went into the 5 mins OT, where GSW outscored CLE 17-7, thus winning 124-114. Little "chipiness" between players in the final couple seconds of OT, causing a ref discussion delay where no one seemed to know what was going on.
Nice 17 pt GSW scoring flurry during that 5 mins OT though-- a full 48 mins scoring at that rate would = 163 pts. Too bad that whole OT was a "2nd chance" or arguably a 3rd for GSW; as CLE should've won the game with 2 made free throws. So CLE rebounded their 2nd missed FT & still should've won with around 7 secs left, but then JR Smith who caught the rebound, had his "confusion event" running out the clock with a tie at end of Q4. Lebron appeared displeased; he was even trying to call timeout after he couldn't figure out wtf Smith was doing! :o

4th & possible final game tonight in CLE, with Dubs up 3-0. If I were a better though I'd bet against Dubs tonight; just too much interest in carrying the series out 2-3 more games, into a 7 game nail biter... or at least 5 games. DEADLY DUO
The Warriors’ motto may be ‘Strength in Numbers’, but perhaps their greatest advantage is that when push comes to shove, they have multiple players they can rely on to take over a game that’s hanging in the balance. In Game 2, it was Stephen Curry raining down a Finals record nine three-pointers to lead Golden State to a blowout victory. Then, in Game 3 in Cleveland on Wednesday, Kevin Durant showcased why he will go down as one of the deadliest scorers in the history of the sport. In addition to scoring a playoff career-high 43 points in the victory, Durant also converted six three-pointers in the contest, tying a season-high. But it wasn’t just the quantity of three-pointers that stood out; it was from where on the court they were launched. Of Durant’s six threes, four came from at least 30 feet away; that’s more 30-foot three-pointers than any team has made in a game in the last 20 postseasons. In fact, Durant had never made more than one such shot in any game from that distance, regular season or playoffs, in his career prior to Wednesday night. Curry and Durant combined to either score or assist on all of the Warriors’ final 24 points in Game 3, and if they can put forth another dominating performance in Game 4 on Friday, that may just be enough to secure Golden State’s second consecutive NBA Championship.

HAMPTONS 5 REVIVED
Klay Thompson suffered what appeared to be a nasty ankle/leg injury in the opening minutes of Game 1, but eventually returned, gutted it out and played a key role in helping Golden State take a 2-0 lead in the series. Then, in another example of individual toughness, Andre Iguodala returned from a six-game absence in Game 3 on Wednesday, finishing a plus-14 in 22 minutes and delivering a momentous dunk in crunch time. With Iguodala active, Steve Kerr was once again able to utilize the ‘Hamptons 5’ lineup of Curry, Thompson, Iguodala, Kevin Durant and Draymond Green, which he did with the game on the line. With the Warriors trailing 92-91 with 7:34 remaining in the contest, Iguodala subbed in to join the rest of the Hamptons 5, and that lineup outscored Cleveland 18-11 throughout the rest of the game to secure the victory. If Game 4 similarly comes down to the final minutes, don’t be surprised if Kerr goes to that same lineup once again.

The Golden State Warriors, winners of the last two NBA championships, have skipped the traditional White House visits. In September of 2017, Donald Trump “disinvited (http://www.nba.com/article/2017/09/23/president-donald-trump-withdraws-white-house-offer-golden-state-warriors)” the team after multiple players said that they wouldn’t attend.

nikk_la (https://www.flickr.com/photos/18246749@N08/8243477216) When the team recently made their annual trip to Washington DC to play the Wizards, they found an alternative. Two of the team’s most prominent figures, star Stephen Curry and coach Steve Kerr have spoken out in opposition to Trump. Curry wrote (https://www.okayplayer.com/sports/steph-curry-talks-trump-tweets-sports.html) in a 2017 essay, “If there’s anything I’ve learned this year, it’s that all the noise we keep hearing—it’s not an accident. We’re hearing that noise because there are real people out there, facing real issues, and real inequalities, some in ways like never before. In 2017, in America, silence is no longer an option.”
When Kerr was asked about Trump’s comments (https://www.chicagotribune.com/news/nationworld/94694888-157.html) regarding Colin Kaepernick, he said (https://sports.yahoo.com/steve-kerr-continues-rip-donald-trumps-divisiveness-time-cnn-204558862.html), “This is another reason why all of us on our team have a tough time with the president, because instead of unifying and trying to calm the storm, he’s creating it, over and over again.”
The White House has not commented on the Warriors decision to meet with the former president.

Golden State Warriors: What to make of Andrew Bogut’s return to the Bay Area
Still, it’s hard to ignore some off-court stuff. Andrew Bogut is on the opposite end of the political spectrum as many of his teammates seem to be. The NBA is a far more progressive league than the other North American professional leagues and a lot of its players–especially the stars like LeBron James–have taken stands against bigotry and oppression.
Bogut has entertained wild alt-right conspiracy theories and regurgitated racist and transphobic talking points. He attacks “SJWs” (social justice warriors) for their desire to create a more positive and safer world for people from all walks of life.
The Warriors players have shown themselves to be thoughtful, accepting, and committed to a league-wide goal of making the game and the world a more inclusive place for people of color, women, LGBTQ (though, admittedly, Curry’s response to the North Carolina’s bathroom law left something to be desired), and others.
Bogut’s online presence has shown to oppose that. With certain issues–such as Black Lives Matter–which are so important to NBA players that Bogut has gone after, it will be interesting to see if this dynamic will lead to any disturbance in the locker room.
Bogut should be helpful on the court, but his presence–especially if he engages in incendiary rhetoric as a member of the team–could cause some issues. Warriors fans, especially in the liberal Bay Area, will have a tough task in front of them in decided how to welcome (or not welcome) Bogut back to the team.

Dallas Mavericks and former Golden State Warriors center Andrew Bogut’s political beliefs are exactly what you would expect them to be.
He complains about the rappers, cars, and the bling bling in the NBA; goes on random right-wing podcasts; is anti-workers rights; and frequently tweets profoundly uninteresting things about male privilege, safe spaces, and the dreaded SJWs.
He is basically a bizarro quasi-libertarian Australian version of Spencer Hawes. He’s the honky messiah.
A tweet showing that Bogut follows some of the worst alt-right Twitter accounts recently went around Basketball Twitter. The irony of the guy following @Infowars proclaiming, “I’m not left, I’m not right, I’m common sense” apparently lost on him, Bogut tried reasserting his “gotta hear both sides” independence by asking about “good SJW accounts” to follow:
It seems the accounts that are offended by my following of all political demographics are SJW's. Any good SJW accounts out there? #oxymoron

https://www.vocativ.com/370768/andrew-bogut-twitter-alt-right/index.html
Dallas Mavericks center Andrew Bogut has started following a whole mess of alt-right and alt-right adjacent accounts on Twitter of late, a veritable rogues’ gallery of trolls, the chronically misinformed, thudding men’s right’s activists, and conspiracy mongers that have ridden the Trump train to a bleak sort of insular prominence.
And boy did Bogut’s ears perk up on Monday night when a few users pointed out what appears to be his swing towards the 4chan wing of American politics. Bogut, of course, got mad online.
Guilty. I also follow left leaning folks, right leaning folks, and yes, you guessed it, conservative folks. I am EVIL! https://t.co/0O7WS0o34J

Does anyone trust anything the main stream media report in relation to politics? I sure don't. So hard to find honest, agenda less news today
— Andrew Bogut (@andrewbogut) October 20, 2016
After a few contentious exchanges with randos and a blocking spree, Bogut drew a mild rebuke from his employers.
What are you doing @andrewbogut?
— Dallas Mavericks (@dallasmavs) October 25, 2016
Of course, screeching about the looming menace of social justice warriors is A Thing Bogut’s engaged in of late. And while he has claimed that he’s equally repulsed by both presidential candidates—he told the Dallas News that “they’re both shithouse”—and joked that Trump’s mere presence means he could be rounded up by a jackbooted deportation force, he still manages to come up with bits like this: “Trump is obviously anti-politically correct and said some absolutely naughty things, but I think Hillary is involved in some shady stuff.”
Further, during the 2016 Finals, his Twitter bio read “Triggered by SJW’s privilege” and he shared takedowns of GamerGate “villains.”

— October's Very Owned (@Cam_Oflage) June 14, 2016
But as Tom Ley noted at Deadspin, even before he was drafted, Bogut was using thinly-veiled racial codes.
“The public’s image of NBA players is true,” Bogut told the Sydney Morning Herald in 2007. “A lot of them get caught up in the hype and do video clips with rappers and all that crap. They want bling bling all over themselves and drive fast cars. But that’s just the way the culture is in America—if you’ve got it flaunt it and if you don’t, you can’t.”
“But it’s just the culture over there,” he continued. “I would never want my child to be brought up in an environment like that, where if you have money you’re supposed to flaunt it and make everyone jealous.”
Ley rightly notes that even a cursory glance at Bogut’s play reveals all his blather about “unselfishness” and playing the “right way” to be so much bunk. (This year, his colleagues ranked him as the NBA’s third dirtiest player.)
But this is all fine. If Bogut’s had some kind of political awakening, and truly believes that political correctness will lead to our ruination, wants to whinge about ‘safe spaces,’ side against labor in the Australian Football League, or portray police brutality as fictional, that’s absolutely his prerogative.
However, he should have the courage to stand by his memes and lukewarm, Schilling-esque convictions, lest it scan as wildly hypocritical when Bogut says that his feed contains sources from all sides of the ideological spectrum, or goes on a talk show hosted by an enabler of the far right internet fringe and claims, “I’m not left; I’m not right; I’m not middle; I’m common sense.”
Regardless of the sclerotic current state of our national discourse, at least we can all come together in agreement on one thing.
.@andrewbogut at least the Social Justice Warriors didn't blow a 3-1 lead in the NBA Finals

https://www.thedailybeast.com/the-alt-rights-new-pizzagate-conspiracy-an-nba-players-knee
The Alt-Right’s New Pizzagate Conspiracy? An NBA Player’s Knee
Right-wing Reddit enthusiasts have a new conspiracy: that a Mavericks basketball player was sidelined not for a knee injury, but for supporting an investigation into Pizzagate.
The conspiracy stems from Bogut’s tepid public support of investigating Pizzagate, a conspiracy theory that began on alt-right subreddits and 4chan, and which claims there is a global child sex ring based out of the basement of a Washington D.C. pizza shop that has no basement. The repeatedly debunked claims are entirely founded on perceived “codewords” in Hillary Clinton campaign advisor John Podesta’s leaked emails.
R/The_Donald is one of the primary drivers of Pizzagate, a conspiracy which led citizen Edgar M. Welch to “investigate” the D.C. pizzeria Comet Pizza with a gun. Posts on both r/The_Donald and r/Conspiracy led to the creation of r/Pizzagate, a splinter subreddit that was banned by Reddit after personal information was posted involving people affiliated with the pizza shop.
President-elect Trump conducted an AMA on r/The_Donald in July, and his campaign’s digital director once tweeted that he visits the site “daily.”
On November 24th, Bogut tweeted “If only 1 percent of this #pizzagate scandal is true, all people involved deserve life in prison (or worse). #sick.” He later laughed off a Snopes debunking of the conspiracy. He then deleted some of the tweets.
Bogut played six more games before suffering the knee injury against Charlotte.
Still, r/The_Donald commenters are wary, since Bogut isn’t expected to play in tonight’s game, the second half of a back-to-back, and on a day where the team will travel from Dallas to Oakland.
“It’s the second night of the back-to-back, which is when they’ve been typically resting him and other vets—even before the injury. So it’s definitely not an aberration,” said Cato.
Mavericks owner Mark Cuban was a vocal supporter of Hillary Clinton during her presidential run, but has since been seen having coffee with Trump campaign and administration advisor Steve Bannon.
Bogut, who is originally from Australia and plays on its national team, has appeared on rightwing podcasts, like Louder with Crowder, and frequently posts about far-rightwing topics on his Twitter account.
“It seems the accounts that are offended by my following of all political demographics are SJW’s,” he tweeted in October, referring to “social justice warriors,” or particularly vocal liberal activists. “Any good SJW accounts out there? #oxymoron.”
Now, Bogut finds himself—or at least his knee—at the center of one of his followers’ conspiracies.
“It is on the dumber side of the stuff I’ve heard from (r/The_Donald),” said Cato. “But it is r/The_Donald. It is very on-brand for them.”

DUBS RETURN TO THE NBA FINALS
The Warriors have earned another trip to the NBA Finals, and will enter the seven game series with all kinds of momentum on their side. The team has won six playoff games in a row dating back to Game 5 of the Western Conference Semifinals against the Houston Rockets and, with two wins in Portland, extended its own NBA record winning at least one road game in 22 consecutive playoff series. This marks the team’s fifth appearance in as many years, making the Warriors the first team since the mid 1960's Boston Celtics (1959-1966) to advance to five straight Finals, and the first team to ever win the Western Conference five consecutive times.

LAST TIME OUT
The Warriors completed the sweep against the Portland Trail Blazers in an overtime thriller that came down to the final play, as Klay Thompson defended a potential game-winning shot from Damian Lillard. The shot was off the mark and Stephen Curry grabbed the rebound, securing a 119-117 win on Monday that completed a four-game series sweep in the Western Conference Finals. Stephen Curry led the way with a 37-point, 13-rebound, 11-assist triple-double, and Draymond Green added his own 18 points, 14 rebounds, and 11 assists. They were the first teammates in NBA postseason history to record a triple double in the same game. » Full Game Recap

A LOOK BACK AT THE WESTERN CONFERENCE FINALS
The Warriors successfully swept the Portland Trail Blazers in the Western Conference Finals, winning each of the final three games with second half comebacks of at least 17 points. They fended-off the backcourt duo of Damian Lillard and CJ McCollum with traps and aggressive defense, and survived the career night of Meyers Leonard (25 first-half points, the most in any game in his NBA and college career) in Game 4. Draymond Green — who averaged 16.5 points, 11.8 rebounds, 8.8 assists, 2.3 steals, and 2.2 blocks throughout the series — finished with back-to-back triple doubles, and Stephen Curry averaged 36.5 points on 42.5 percent from beyond the arc. Head Coach Steve Kerr called the series an “uphill climb all the way,” though, as the team was able to overcome the absence of stars Kevin Durant, DeMarcus Cousins, and Andre Iguodala (missed Game 4 with a lower-leg injury), as well as overcome the early deficits from the Trail Blazers’ hot starts in the final three games.
DUBS VS. RAPTORS AT A GLANCE
The Warriors played the Toronto Raptors twice during the regular season, with both games ending in disappointment for the Dubs. Their first matchup was an overtime thriller in Canada, where the squad came back from an 18-point deficit to force overtime, but eventually fell 131-128. Though Golden State was without Stephen Curry (recovering from a strained groin) for that game, Kevin Durant scored 51 points while receiving help from Klay Thompson (23 points) and Jonas Jerebko (20 points). When the Warriors hosted the Raptors for their second game of the year, Toronto was without their star forward Kawhi Leonard (out with a bruised hip). Durant had another strong showing against their opponent from the East, putting up 30 points in the contest, but the Dubs could not overcome a combination of their own off-shooting night and the Raptors’ hot start. Unable to match the offensive outburst from Kyle Lowry (23 points), Serge Ibaka, (20 points, 12 rebounds), and Danny Green (15 points), the Warriors trailed by double-digits the entire second half and lost the game 113-93, the first time the Dubs lost to the Toronto squad on Warriors Ground in 14 years. Both games were came prior to DeMarcus Cousins’ return from his Achilles injury, so it remains to be seen what kind of impact he could have on the floor against Toronto should he be able to play during the NBA Finals.

RAPTORS SCOUTING REPORT
The Raptors are lead by a foe familiar to the Warriors: Kawhi Leonard. Though he entered the league seven years ago as a defense-minded player with the San Antonio Spurs, he has evolved into one of the premier two-way players in the NBA; he was traded to the Raptors prior to the start of the season and responded with averages of 26.6 points and 7.3 rebounds, both career highs, to go along with almost two steals per game. Though he performed well during the season, he flourished during the Eastern Conference’s Semifinals (34.7 points, 9.9 rebounds, 1.3 steals) and Finals (29.8 points, 9.5 rebounds, 2.2 steals) where he played perhaps the largest role in advancing his team through the Playoffs. Also acquired during the season was veteran stretch-center Marc Gasol, who has the ability to shoot from deep, has a keen eye when passing, and can effectively cover any opposing player in the post. The two fit a Toronto system that has been defined by efficient scoring and a quick-switching defense this postseason; compared to the other eight playoff teams from the East, the Raptors ranked third in field goal percentage (44.1 percent), third in 3-point field goal percentage (34.5 percent), and second in steals (8.0) per game. Adding to the team’s athletic abilities are Pascal Siakam (16.9 points, 6.9 rebounds, 0.9 steals, 0.7 blocks), Serge Ibaka (15 points, 8.1 rebounds, 1.4 blocks) and Kyle Lowry (14.2 points, 8.7 assists, 1.4 steals), a core of three players in their third year together with the team.

Toronto Raptors’ Trip to Israel (http://www.unz.com/kbarrett/toronto-raptors-trip-to-israel/)
The Obscenity of Jewish Power
Kevin Barrett (http://www.unz.com/author/kevin-barrett/) • June 26, 2019 • 1,400 Words • 155 Comments (http://www.unz.com/kbarrett/toronto-raptors-trip-to-israel/#comments) • Reply (http://www.unz.com/kbarrett/toronto-raptors-trip-to-israel/#respond)
I recently received an email from Code Pink:
“Winning the NBA finals is a great achievement, but Raptors billionaire co-owner Larry Tennenbaum—an unapologetic Israel supporter—wants to reward them with a propaganda trip to Israel. Help us appeal to the Raptors to reject their coach’s offer: Tell them to dunk the ball for Palestinian rights by refusing to travel to Israel (https://www.codepink.org/raptors?e=939626cf1e107b5689b560cf52daecb7&utm_source=codepink&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=raptors_alert&n=3).”
“Dunk the ball for Palestinian rights?” That is not exactly the world’s catchiest protest chant. No rhyme or alliteration, the meter doesn’t scan, and the image that comes to mind is…what, exactly? Kawhi Leonard stealing Larry Tennenbaum’s head right off his neck and slamming it through the hoop?
Regardless, the well-meaning lefties at Code Pink have their hearts in the right place. Like most well-meaning lefties these days, they feel bad about Israeli atrocities. Unlike most well-meaning lefties, they are trying to do something about them. And unlike just about everybody else in America, they have the guts to get loud and visible, risking arrest or worse. (I will never forget hearing about Medea Benjamin getting her arm broken by al-Sisi’s thugs (https://www.theatlantic.com/international/archive/2014/03/code-pinks-medea-benjamin-says-egyptian-police-broke-her-arm/358797/).)
But Code Pink’s courage does not extend to telling the truth about Jewish power and its most egregious abuses and vulnerabilities. Medea Benjamin must know that 9/11 was a false flag operation—she essentially admitted her suspicions to me, and cheered on my 9/11 activism, during her 2007 interview on my Truth Jihad Radio show. Yet during a 2014 New Horizon Conference in Iran (https://www.buzzfeednews.com/article/rosiegray/antiwar-activists-911-truthers-gather-in-tehran-for-anti-zio), she and Gareth Porter loudly complained about the Conference’s focus on 9/11 “conspiracy theories” and other forms of “anti-Semitism.” While everyone else at the conference accepted that 9/11 was a Zionist-driven false flag (the show of hands was unanimous except for Benjamin and Porter), the two holdouts raised a stink with the Conference organizers about supposed anti-Jewish sentiment at the event. The two were particularly appalled by a couple of attendees representing the the European New Right, who espoused Holocaust revisionism and ferociously condemned what they saw as grossly disproportionate Jewish power dominating the West.
