A 2010 study in Public Health Nutrition of 3,000 girls found that girls who ate eight portions of meat a week by age three, and 12 portions of meat a week by age seven were likely to have an early start of menstruation. In fact, the girls were 75 percent more likely to have begun their periods by the age of 12 if they were eating a high-meat diet when they were seven years old. Not mentioned in the study, led by Imogen Rogers from the University of Brighton, was whether the meat had been grown with livestock hormones, a practice that also raises concerns.

Or at least I hope it will, first world , births have been decreasing, due to lifestyles , third world is old school, the need to breed to have kids that become adults to can take care of mom and dad which is what historically is a way for parents to try to insure that when they grow old , they have a safety net in their old age, becides te free labor to get something to eat.

Being a father of 2 girls I've looked into this a while ago and have come away with my own theory as to why this is happening. I don't believe it to be so much from meat, but from Soy (which is in EVERYTHING and is known for its Estrogen components) as well as BPA which is still found in a large number of consumable products including soup. It's a known hormone disruptor and is found in soup can linings, as well as the lining of new plastic water pipes being installed in homes (PEX tubing).

Wife and I have been buying hormone free humanely raised chicken and beef for consumption for the past 7-8 years now. So I know we're not consuming large doses of growth hormone. But my home does have PEX tubing in it and I've been using filtration to try and remove as much as possible at the tap. Activated carbon will remove BPA from water. But once you consume it your body will store BPA in fat cells, so it's best to try and avoid consuming it if at all possible.

(NaturalNews) Three major clothing lines based in Sweden and Norway are selling products that contain toxic chemicals, reported NewsinEnglish.no. KappAhl and H&M, both Sweden-based clothing chains, and Cubus, a Norway-based company, were caught selling articles of clothing in which one out of three contained DBP or DEHP.

Dibutyl phthalate, or DBP, is a commonly used plasticizer that was banned by the European Union (EU) in 1999 for use in products like nail polish, cosmetics and children's toys. The United States followed suit, banning the chemical in 2006.

Due to its low cost, Bis(2-ethylhexyl) phthalate, or DEHP, is also used to manufacture plastics. It's one of six compounds that the EU claimed to remove from the market in early 2011; however, the testing conducted by the Norwegian Consumer Council found this to be untrue.

Researchers also identified the chemical nonylfenoletoxilat (NPEO) in some items, "which breaks down to the endocrine disruptor nonylfenol" and can act as a hormone disruptor.

NPEOs aren't banned but restricted to limited use in the EU.

The study was completed ahead of a seminar on protecting consumers against toxic substances, held by Norwegian and Danish councils earlier this month.

Researchers believe both chemicals to be endocrine disruptors, responsible for increasing cancer, fertility complications, damage to fetuses, type 2 diabetes, obesity and ADHD in humans.

"It is disturbing that every third children's garment we tested contained substances with properties that could be harmful," said council director Randi Flesland. "These are substances that should not be found in children's clothing."

There was a Swedish study that found artificial light contributes to early puberty. Girls raised in the backwoods with candles and oil lamps for lighting delayed puberty until about 16 where girls in town were changing as early as 8. There's also evidence that media over sexualized youngsters and accelerates puberty. I doubt that hormone added food helps the problem any.
