The Star Trek franchise will get its first-ever openly gay character when Starship Excelsior captain Hikaru Sulu is revealed to be gay in the upcoming film Star Trek Beyond.

In an interview with Australia’s Herald Sun on Thursday, actor John Cho — who plays Sulu in the updated Star Trek film series — revealed that the legendary captain of the Excelsior will be shown to be in a committed relationship with a male partner in this summer’s latest installment, with the two also being parents to a daughter.

I thought about going to see it since I did like the previous Star Trek reboot films. Now that they are going to be promoting fag culture I won't even take the time to pirate it.

Cultural Marxist garbage.

What's funny is even George Takei, the original Sulu, who is gay in real life, thinks it's a bad idea.

George Takei: Gay Sulu 'really unfortunate' (http://www.bbc.com/news/entertainment-arts-36744328)

Star Trek actor George Takei has said the decision to make Sulu gay in the forthcoming film Star Trek Beyond is "really unfortunate".

The 79-year-old played the character as heterosexual for decades on screen, but the latest film sees Sulu, played by John Cho, married to a man.

The move had been intended as a tribute to Takei, who is openly gay himself.

But Takei said, while he welcomed a gay character, it was "a twisting" of creator Gene Roddenberry's vision.

He's right, it is a forced twisting of the character, and all the hardcore trek fans know it. This movie will go down like Star Trek IV, save the whales, meaning the only thing people will remember about it is the trendy political statement it made at the time.

Got to get the fudgepacker thing into every movie now....it's for the children (who are still trying to figure out if they're boys or girls)
