China doesn't like spooky ghosts and skeletons, they even censor games/movies. They have gravestones where you die instead of an actual corpse in the above game.

To the Chinese, the dead are meant to be off in the dead spirit ghost world doing ghost stuff. Probably resting. A ghost on earth would be restless, and a restless ghost would see all the living as a disturbance. So, it would want to harm them by killing them or giving them bad luck.

Luck is VERY important to the Chinese. They put a lot of stake in the concept of fortune and how it affects one's life playing out. That's why they're so fucking crazy about gambling. A movie like that playing in a theater in a Chinese town would give the entire town and maybe even province bad luck and ruin all their lives.

The tweets began on the opening day of the Paul Feig-directed feminist blockbuster.
