The concept applies to many things such as computer software whether it is software on a desktop or software in a car. I am not sure it was always this way though. But because there is no transfer of title between the "purchaser" and the "supplier" then it's quite reasonable to assume there is no transfer of asset occurring.

This is at the base of the Socialist ideology that you own nothing and everything you have is only possible because "society" has enabled it, therefore 'society" owns it. This also applies to children, because "society" enables the ability to have children (not natural reproduction systems) AND "society" is required/necessary for children to be raised. Apparently children won't exist or grow (raise up) unless "society" exists.

I wonder if the tools are supplied by a third party, whether that third party has a claim that the thing created with the tool does not belong to the creator? You see this a lot in design professions. And I guess it exists in the world of Technology patents where you use a patented component to build larger/more functional device. You pay a per instance license fee or can sometimes negotiate a blanket fee for a particular use regardless of times used/sold.

To further the subject.
It just so happens that Deere has a patent on their software and the combines are so integrated with this software that the operator can just sit and let the machine run itself. The operator is basically just a physical stand by copilot. I heard they are having problems out in the field of owners modifying the machine which the software then has problems and the machine doesn't work as expected as it was purchased to do. Its Deere's response to stop the modifications that's causing legal problems.
