CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — Five people were injured in a shooting spree early Saturday near a Tennessee nightclub as patrons inside kept dancing to loud music, unaware of the violence outside.

Clarksville police said the shootings occurred shortly before 2 a.m. near the El Punto nightclub. The wounded were taken to a hospital in the town about 50 miles northwest of Nashville. The extent of their injuries was unknown.

Police department spokeswoman Natalie Hall said authorities have no suspects. Police were gathering evidence in a parking lot near the nightclub on Saturday.

The nightclub owner, Jorge Matias, said the shootings happened about an hour before his club closed, but some of his customers were leaving when the gunshots rang out.

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) — Kern County detectives have been going nonstop in their investigation of a shooting that left 14 people with wounds at a house party early Saturday morning.

Investigators are searching for three suspects, two of which fired point-blank into a crowd that was dispersing. Fourteen were shot at the party on Stephens Drive, but all are expected to survive.

"We don't have a lot of cooperative witnesses, " Youngblood said. "Anytime you have what we believe is a gang-related shooting, gangs tend to not want to tell on other gangs, and that creates a tremendous problem for law enforcement."

The shooting happened after a fight had broken out at the party and one group was told to leave. But the three suspects returned as the crowd was dispersing and opened fire. Someone in the crowd returned fire. The suspects fled.

"You don't just shoot into a crowd of people with the intent to just scare or hurt people. You have the intent to kill people," said Youngblood.

The parents who live at the home, Alicea and Jesse Wallace, said they were throwing a party for their teenage daughter and wanted just a few of her friends there. But the party was posted on social media, and the couple never expected a large crowd to show up. Alicea Wallace has been apologetic to the victims and their families.

Her husband was also wounded, as a bullet grazed his head.

Officials are also looking into the possibility that an adult may have provided alcohol to the teens attending the party.

MIAMI (CBSMiami) – Four people were shot in southwest Miami-Dade County early Sunday morning.

According to authorities, they received a call for shots fired inside a home just before 4 a.m.

A 39-year-old mother of six and her 19-year-old daughter were killed inside the home.

Two of her sons, a 17-year-old and a 12-year-old, were also shot.

The older son passed away Kendall Regional Hospital while the younger boy is listed in stable condition.

Family members say that her other children were also in the home but were not harmed and that the shooter was her boyfriend, who she has three children with.

Police are not releasing any information yet but family members are making their plea for justice.

“I love my family, man,” said Gus Lanier, brother of the 39-year-old mother. “I love my peoples man, I can’t see my peoples no more. Ya’ll bring this dude to justice.”

Evansville police are trying to sort out the details of an altercation that led to four people being shot.

It happened just before 10:30 Monday night at Cherry and Bedford.

Officers say a group of people outside were approached by another group when the altercation began.

Things quickly escalated, and then shots were fired.

Police say the four people that were hit suffered only minor injuries, mostly to hands and legs.

Right now it's not clear if this was a gang-related incident, but investigators say they continue to follow up on leads.

Police say one of five people shot in Hot Springs last week has died.

The Sentinel-Record (http://bit.ly/2cD9TAp ) reports that the victims were found shortly before 7 p.m. Thursday inside and outside a home on the city's west side.

Officer Joey Williams said on Sunday that one of the victims, 23-year-old Tyler Donaldson, died overnight. The other victims are a 19-year-old woman and three males ages 17, 20 and 53. Their conditions haven't been released.

Police say a 23-year-old man has been arrested on five counts of first-degree battery, and a second suspect is being sought in the shootings. Williams says one of the five counts of first-degree battery against the suspect who hasn't been arrested has been upgraded to capital murder.

The commissioner said there was no indication that the gunman had been radicalized or was working with anyone else. Bullets hit her protective vest and her left arm.

A wild chase and shootout through the streets of Philadelphia left two police officers and three civilians wounded and a woman and the suspect fatally shot.

The gunman's exact motive is unknown and the civilian victims of the ambush were apparently targeted at random. They were transported to Penn Presbyterian Hospital and listed in stable condition.

The Philadelphia Police Department spoke out on Twitter to thank the public for their support during this senseless attack. The officers didn't return fire.

The shooting started on Friday night, according to KGO-TV.

Effective immediately, officers will be patrolling in pairs, Ross said. "I'm not a physician and so couldn't speak to [whether the suspect was mentally disturbed]", Ross said.

A Louisville man is facing attempted murder charges after a shooting occurred on Christmas morning in Ozark.

The incident took place in the back of the Ozark Inn and Suites around 12:30 a.m. on Sunday.

Four people were injured in the shooting and, so far, three of them have been released from the hospital. The fourth person is still in critical condition.

Police say the shooting followed a verbal and physical fight at the hotel.

"There were people partying. They were going back and forth in groups and every once and a while, it would seem like a scuffle was going to break out and it would calm down and then all of a sudden, it was like a scuffle and gunfire all at the same time," said Terri York, a witness of the shooting.

Roydricus McCray, 25, is accused of grabbing a gun after the altercation began and shooting into a crowd. He is now facing four counts of attempted murder.

Obryan Spikes, 27, died in the shooting. At least 15 others were shot, and one of those people is in "extremely critical condition," Cincinnati police Chief Eliot Isaac said.

The shooting was reported just after 1 a.m. at Cameo Night Club on Kellogg Avenue in Cincinnati's East End. Police believe that multiple people fired shots. No arrests have been made.

The four people shot in the 2000 block of Tulip Street on April 6 were innocent victims caught up in someone else's quarrel, Lake Charles Police Chief Don Dixon said.

The shooters' intended target was not in the vehicle that was shot up in the early morning altercation that left 22-year-old Cody Lastrapes dead.

JKristopher Demond Scott, 19, is charged with one count of second-degree murder with a bond set at $750,000. He is also charged with three counts of attempted second-degree murder with another bond sent at $250,000.

A 16-year-old juvenile is also charged with second-degree murder in Lastrapes' death. District Attorney John DeRosier said the 16-year-old will be charged as an adult.

Dixon said the altercation began on Rose Street when Scott and the juvenile quarreled with Deon Tobias Demorulle, 19.

Scott and the 16-year-old believed Demorulle was in the vehicle when they started firing. Demorulle, who, although not in the vehicle, was in the 2000 block of Tulip Street, came out and engaged in a gun battle with the pair.

"We had 79 shell casings in the street," Dixon said. "This is not Baghdad, this is Lake Charles. This is not supposed to happen here."

INDIANAPOLIS, IN -- An uptick in violence around Indianapolis over the last four days has seen 14 people shot, five of whom have died.

The spike of violence began Thursday morning, when 18-year-old Brittany McNew was shot and killed in the 3400 block of West Michigan Street. McNew was also pregnant at the time.

Things have only escalated since then. IMPD Police Chief Bryan Roach says one of the main things to remember through all this is that the relationship between the public and law enforcement is a two-way street.

"There's a lot of discussion around community engagement and what is it we can do so the message to our community is to believe in us and share information with us. We need that," Roach said. "Public safety is a community partnership. It sounds cliché, but it really is. In order to turn our neighborhoods around, we really have to have a good relationship with our communities."

Roach hosted a discussion with other top law enforcement officials from around the area on ways they can solve the problem of violence around the city yesterday. One of the concerns brought to the table was a high turnover rate of experienced investigators.

"Just like every organization we see a lot of experience that walks out the door every year and we dont do a very good job of capturing that," Roach says. "We have some great and experienced investigators but sometimes you don't know what you don't know, until you've come across or experienced something."

So far, 14 of this year's 41 homicides have resulted in an arrest.

(CBS) — Five people were shot Tuesday night in the South Austin neighborhood on the West Side.

At 8:48 p.m., a male walked up to five people in the 200 block of South Lotus, opened fire and ran away, according to Chicago Police.

An 16-year-old boy was shot in the knee, a 19-year-old woman suffered gunshot wounds to the back and arm and a 20-year-old woman was shot in the arm, police said. They were taken to Stroger Hospital.

Also, a 39-year-old woman was shot in the leg and an 18-year-old man was shot in the leg, police said. They were taken to Mount Sinai Hospital.

All five victims were in serious condition, police said.

Tam was shot, along with six others when a former employee of the Bronx hospital, identified as 45-year-old Henry Bello, used an AM-15 assault rifle to open fire on the 16th and 17th floors of the hospital.

The exact motive is not clear, but authorities believe it to be work-related.

Bello apparently emailed the New York Daily News hours before the shooting, blaming the hospital for ruining his career over “bogus complaints,” the newspaper reported.

“This hospital terminated my road to a licensure to practice medicine,” Bello wrote, according to the Daily News. “First, I was told it was because I always kept to myself. Then it was because of an altercation with a nurse.”

His email to the newspaper blamed two doctors for his termination.

The first person Bello shot at was Dr. Roger Green, who was standing at a nurses’ station on the 16th floor, where Bello used to work, according to a senior NYPD official.

“Why didn’t you help me out when I was getting in trouble?” the gunman yelled, according to the official.

The bullet missed Green, who was able to flee into a room on the 16th floor, the official said.

The official said Bello then shot several people and went up to the 17th floor, where he shot two doctors, including Tam. The rampage ended when Bello entered a room and shot himself in the chest.

Bello apparently fired eight shots. The box for the Anderson AM-15 assault rifle that Bello hid under a white lab coat as he entered the hospital Friday afternoon was found in his Bronx apartment, according to the official.

The shooting occurred around 2:30 a.m.

Twenty-five people between the ages of 16 and 35 suffered gunshot wounds, and three others were hurt, perhaps while fleeing, Buckner said. Two people were in critical condition Saturday afternoon. Police said officers did not have any suspects in custody.

The club's license has been suspended 11 times for failing to pay taxes, and it has been cited seven times for 14 various violations including unknowingly furnishing alcohol to minors and allowing alcohol to leave the premises since 2012, ABC Director of Enforcement Boyce Hamlet said.

BREAKING NEWS - 6 children shot on street, 1 fatally; public’s help sough

Cleveland, Ohio

CLEVELAND (AP) — Police say a 12-year-old boy fatally shot in an attack on juveniles near a Cleveland liquor store had stepped outside of the store with his father after the shooting started and was struck by a stray bullet.

Authorities haven’t identified the boy or his father, who owned the store. Police say five teen boys between the ages of 14 and 16 were wounded in the shooting around 7:30 p.m. Friday, including a 16-year-old hospitalized with a gunshot wound to the head.

A Cleveland police spokeswoman says the teens were standing outside the liquor store when a group of three to four males opened fire. Police Chief Calvin Williams says it’s believed the shooters also are juveniles.

Officials are seeking the public’s help in identifying and arresting the shooting suspects.

MEMPHIS, TN (WMC) -

Memphis Police Department is investigating a shooting outside of a nightclub in Frayser.

MPD said five people were shot outside of Club Bosses on North Watkins Street near the intersection of Dellwood Avenue around 2 a.m. Saturday.

Three men ages 29, 31, and 37 are in critical condition. A man, 34, and a woman ,19, are in non-critical condition

By definition, the shooting is classified as a mass shooting. The FBI defines a mass shooting as four or more people injured.

The owner of Club Bosses, who didn't give us his name, said the shooters drove up on North Watkins Street and opened fire.

"This guy was walking to his vehicle, some guys from the street just started opening up fire from my understanding," the owner said.

MINNEAPOLIS - Police say they have three suspects in custody after six people were shot in the Little Earth neighborhood in Minneapolis Wednesday night.
