Very interesting. I've resorted to getting accounts that do not receive interest. That was about as far as I could get. And in some cases, even when asking that the account not receive interest some of them still did. The fact that the interest rate was .01% which is virtually no interest seemed to fit "their" definition of no interest account.
has some interesting things to say

I feel that we might have a thread on this already somewhere but I can't find it. If someone knows please post and I'll add this one.
Just digging a bit deeper. Not sure where he has gotten with his stuff. He did alright with the bank stuff.
His court stuff might have given him a bit of trouble me thinks.

Here in Tenessee there is no way to open any type of banking account without a SS#. Has to also be your original SS card from many moons ago. Nope it don't matter, no excuses no stories these people take their jobs so serious it makes me sick. They don't care if they are a grocery cart picker in person, their jobs are more serious than a government official. Once in you are fine but to get there is impossible without that stupid piece of faded paper. Nothing else will allow you to open an account period. In Michigan you could show a drivers license and a couple bills with name and address and be good but here? Fucking not a chance in hell. Nothing at all will be accepted besides your original SS card. Sounds stipid and it is.

That only applies if you're a U.S. citizen. If you do not claim that status they will not require a SS# number. I had many discussions with bank management on my journey to redeeming lawful money. I touched it off by asking how can Mexican nationals open bank accounts? Bank management clearly uncomfortable with that question didn't answer it at first, and just stated that they can't. I said if it was just U.S. citizens then the automatic tellers would all be in English, not English and Spanish and certainly not asking me if I speak English to press 1. I said so how is a Mexican national opening a bank account in your organization lawfully? They said that they did not require a social security number from those who do not claim U.S. citizenship. They'll take a birth certificate, a TIN (Tax ID Number), a drivers license (real or fake apparently). So it's easier than you think as long as you don't try to open the bank account as a U.S. citizen.

My deceased wife opened an account without a SS number. We had to be assertive to get it done. I have a notice on file at my bank that I demand all transactions in said account be transacted in lawful money.

I have opened a non-interest checking account without a SS# however due to OPSEC I won't be posting details. It can be done.
