Recently saw the Tom Hanks movie, "A Hologram for the King" which is set in Saudi Arabia. It's a fine movie, not political, not laugh-out-loud funny but there's plenty of humor. I realize most movies today have an agenda. If there's an agenda here, I guess it would be to normalize and humanize what is one of the most oppressive regimes in the world. They did touch on public executions, soldiers in the streets, the use of Indonesians for menial labor. There was also sex, drugs, rock and roll, wolf hunting, and a hint about a democratic revolution.
