first, their top cop endorses clinton --- who has spent her whole campaign attacking cops. he also attacked trump recently -
second, they have a chance to get rid of schumer....but nyc media is reporting this:
SCHUMER STILL CRUISING TOWARD BLOWOUT - POLITICO New York’s Bill Mahoney: In the five months Republican Wendy Long has spent trying to move the needle in her long-shot race against Sen. Chuck Schumer, the biggest change is that more voters now view her unfavorably. A Siena Research Institute poll released Wednesday found that Schumer is beating Long 63-24. That number is within the margin of error of the 66-23 Siena found in June and exactly the same as the split found by Quinnipiac University two weeks after Long launched her candidacy.
Factoring out the 13 percent of registered voters who proffered no opinion on the race puts Schumer at 72.4 percent. The highest margin run up by a statewide candidate in recent history came in 2012, when Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand beat Long after receiving 72.2 percent. “[T]he popular incumbent seems to be cruising to a fourth term,” Siena spokesman Steve Greenberg said. “The real question is how well Long does compared to four years ago.”
