Last week the Daily Mail, a UK-based publication, posted a story (http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-3749919/The-racy-photos-troubling-questions-Donald-Trump-s-wife.html) about Melania Trump questioning the potential First Lady’s past, including previous relationships, her immigration status when she met Donald Trump, his marital status – and a particularly salacious claim that the modeling agency for whom she worked in Milan was “something like a gentleman’s club” insinuating Mrs. Trump might have been an escort.
Even the Daily Mail admitted in its story that “none of the claims are substantiated” which begs the question, why was the story ever published? Great journalism folks.
In any event, Mrs. Trump is not simply brushing this story off as dirty campaign tactics. She’s suing.

The Hill reports (http://thehill.com/blogs/blog-briefing-room/news/292240-melania-trump-taking-legal-action-after-news-outlets-publish), Potential first lady Melania Trump is taking legal action against the Daily Mail and other news outlets, accusing them of defamation.
“Mrs. Trump has placed several news organizations on notice of her legal claims against them, including Daily Mail among others, for making false and defamatory statements about her supposedly having been an ‘escort’ in the 1990s,” attorney Charles Harder said in an email to Politico.
Harder said all statements suggesting Trump worked as an escort are “100% false, highly damaging to her reputation, and personally hurtful.”
“Outright lying about her in this way exceeds all bounds of appropriate news reporting and human decency,” Harder wrote. Trump tweeted the Inquisitr and BipartisanReport retractions on Monday. The outlets apologized for repeating the claims.

It’s no surprise that politics is a blood sport. We’ve come to expect the slings and arrows hurled around from one campaign to the other. Donald Trump is no stranger to barbs and insults.
But salacious lies are something else entirely. Truly, this is a very low stoop. But as many have been saying, journalism died a long time ago. What’s left of mainstream media is a despicable odiferous pile.
Mrs. Trump, don’t let the b*stards win!
