German pharmaceutical and crops manufacturer Bayer AG (BAYGn.DE) said on Monday that its negotiations with Monsanto Co (MON.N) had advanced, and that it was now willing to offer more than $65 billion to acquire the world's largest seeds company.
Bayer's announcement came as the gap in price expectations between the two companies has narrowed significantly, although important terms, including potential divestitures in case of antitrust scrutiny, have yet to be agreed on.
Bayer in a statement said that it was prepared to offer $127.50 per share in connection with a negotiated deal, up from its previous offer of $125 per share. The Bayer statement confirmed a report by German daily Rheinische Post earlier on Monday.
Rheinische Post also reported, citing sources which it did not identify, that an offer of $130 per share may be necessary to clinch a deal with Monsanto "in a swift and friendly way."
In a brief statement, Monsanto said on Monday it had been engaged in "constructive" negotiations with Bayer, during which it received the updated non-binding acquisition proposal for $127.50 per share in cash.
The Saint Louis-based company added that it was continuing these conversations as it evaluated Bayer's offer, as well as proposals from other parties it did not name. It cautioned that there was no certainty that any deal would occur.
Bayer's bid was already the largest all-cash proposed takeover on record. A deal with Monsanto would give the German company a shot at grabbing the top spot in the fast-consolidating farm supplies industry.

February 15, 2016 – Bayer has acquired the plant health diagnosis and infection level warning service provider proPlant Gesellschaft für Agrar- und Umweltinformatik mbH. The acquisition continues the expansion of Bayer’s activities in the field of agricultural digitalization. The company based in Münster in North-Rhine Westphalia, Germany, was originally established as a spin-off by employees of the Institute for Geoinformatics at Münster University. It will operate as Bayer Digital Farming GmbH in the future.
“The acquisition of proPlant will extend our technology platform, on the basis of which we are developing new digital solutions for sustainable, resource-efficient agricultural production,” said Liam Condon, member of the Board of Management of Bayer AG and head of the Crop Science Division. “Digitalization can give farmers timely, field-specific information, from selecting the right crop varieties and finding the right fertilizer dose as accurately as possible through to determining the ideal time for crop protection measures and recognizing plant stress factors at an early stage,” he explained.
Bayer Digital Farming GmbH develops and markets IT solutions for the European agricultural sector. In particular, the company markets optimization solutions for plant protection applications for almost all major arable crops.

What's the difference if Jew Monsanto or Jew Bayer owns it? The end result is the same. I suspect Jews are trying to distance themselves from their misdeeds, as many have figured out Monsanto is a Jewish family.

Monsanto and Bayer: Why Food And Agriculture Just Took A Turn For The Worse
16 September 2016 GMT
http://rinf.com/alt-news/wp-content/uploads/2016/09/monso-2.jpg
‘News broke this week that Monsanto accepted a $66 billion takeover bid from Bayer. The new company would control more than 25 per cent of the global supply of commercial seeds and pesticides. Bayer’s crop chemicals business is the world’s second largest after Syngenta, and Monsanto is the leading commercial seeds business.
Monsanto held a 26 per cent market share of all seeds sold in 2011. Bayer (mainly a pharmaceuticals company) sells 17 per cent of the world’s total agrochemicals and also has a comparatively small seeds sector. If competition authorities pass the deal, the combined company would be the globe’s largest seller of both seeds and agrochemicals.
The deal marks a trend towards consolidation in the industry with Dow and DuPont having agreed to merge and Swiss seed/pesticide giant Syngenta merging with ChemChina, a Chinese government concern.’

The British Government Has Colluded With Monsanto And Should Be Held Accountable In The International Criminal Court
By David on 28 January 2017 GMT
“The British Government has colluded with Monsanto and should be held accountable in the International Criminal Court in The Hague for crimes against humanity and ecocide.” Dr Rosemary Mason.
The British public and the environment are being poisoned with a deadly cocktail of 320 pesticides. Moreover, Wales has become a storage dump for Monsanto’s most toxic chemicals. These are the messages conveyed by Dr Rosemary Mason in her recent open letter to Councillor Rob Stewart, the leader of Swansea City and County Council.
Citing a study by WWF-UK in 2003, Mason shows that residues of PCBs and other organochlorines were found in 75 adipose tissue samples taken from human cadavers throughout 1990 and early 1991 from Welsh populations. The researchers found: “little changes in the concentrations of these compounds in the Welsh population over the last decade, despite reduction in their use that came into force in the 1970s.”
Mason states that children in Wales have low scores in the PISA tests, a measure of reading, maths and science ability in 15 year olds, and low educational achievement in primary schools.
She also notes that organophosphate pesticides have supposedly been banned but are now used on salmon lice in fish farms: from 2006-2016 the salmon produced by fish farms has increased by 35%, but the use of OPs increased by 932%......
