ESSEX JUNCTION, Vt. -

As cleanup crews break down the Champlain Valley Fair, investigators are starting to piece together what led to a fatal stabbing in the waning hours Sunday night.

"We have different types of information coming in. For the most part, it's consistent regarding-- certainly, there was a disagreement and there was some anger involved," Essex Police Chief Brad LaRose said.

Ryan Durkin, 22, of South Burlington, died shortly after 11 p.m. Sunday as emergency responders rushed him to the hospital. Police say he died of a single stab wound to the torso.

The suspect, St. Amour, does have two prior convictions: one felony and one misdemeanor. He's expected to be charged in Chittenden County court Tuesday with first- or second-degree murder. At that point, we should also learn more details about what police believe happened Sunday night.

RICHMOND, R.I. — Police arrested 22 people last weekend at the Washington County Fair, including a parking attendant who was allegedly drinking on the job.

During the fair’s five-day run, 21 adults and one child were arrested. Twelve people were charged with public drinking.

A few fights led to arrests:

• On Saturday, Aug. 20, Olusegun Richardson, 30, of Providence, was arrested after he got into a loud argument with a vendor over the price of an item. Richardson allegedly approached the vendor “in an aggressive manner, raising his fists and yelling aloud challenging him to a fight,” according to police reports.

• A 48-year-old parking attendant was arrested Saturday night after he drunkenly screamed profanities at a person sitting in a legally parked car, in front of several families and children, the police said. John Hill of South Kingstown was charged with disorderly conduct and obstructing a police officer, after he refused to identify himself and sarcastically said, “The police knew more about parking vehicles than he did,” police said.

• Three people were arrested after a “large fight” broke out Sunday night. Stiven Zapata, 21, of Woonsocket; Marissa Cooper, 22, of Blackstone, Mass.; and Tyler Therien, 20, of Milford Mass. were charged with simple assault and battery, and disorderly conduct after they allegedly hit a woman in the neck in front of her young son.

Redmond Police are asking for the public’s help in identifying a suspect involved in an apparent attempted abduction of a 5-year-old boy at the Deschutes County Fair at 12:18 a.m. Sunday.

The suspect is described as a white male approximately 20 years old wearing black clothing and a black hat. He was seen escorting the child away from the south gate entrance at the Deschutes County Fairgrounds, according to a police news release.

The child was able to get away, and the suspect reportedly ran west away from the scene.

The Deschutes County Sheriff’s Office responded with a police dog to search the area. The suspect was not located and is still at large.

I stay away from large gatherings, mostly because I think most people suck!

Two people were shot to death and four others wounded early Monday at the bustling J’Ouvert carnival celebrating Caribbean culture in Brooklyn – sparking pandemonium hours before the city’s annual West Indian Day Parade.

At least four people were shot and two people were stabbed despite a heavy police presence to ensure safety during the raucous event, which has been routinely marred by violence.

Charged as a juvenile if I remember correctly. I don't remember if it happened before or after the flood. Happy Hollow wasn't the place to be after dark in the early 90's. I can only imagine now.
