The man fatally shot by a Charlotte-Mecklenburg police officer is Keith Lamont Scott, and his family has been notified, Charlotte Mayor Jennifer Roberts said Tuesday night. In a statement, Roberts said Brentley Vinson, the officer involved in the shooting, has been placed on paid administrative leave. She said the officer has worked for the department since July 21, 2014.

The man died at Carolinas Medical Center.
A gun the man was holding was found at the scene, police said.
CNN affiliate WSOC reported that protesters blocked off a road, in northeast Charlotte about 8 p.m. A line of police in riot gear stretched across the street.
Many of the demonstrators yelled, "No justice, no peace!"
Some hurled water bottles at police. At least one city bus was used for people who had been detained by police.
Police tweeted they were deploying their civil emergency unit to help patrol officers leave the scene.

Not that there is ever a good reason to have a riot, but the Charlotte rioters might be interested to know they bought a line of crap from the media, which just sent 23 people to the hospital and unleashed hours of chaos in the streets for no reason whatsoever. White-cops-shoot-unarmed-black-man? Don't think so:

As the video below demonstrates, the media caused all this. More than 1,000 people heard on the news that a guy holding a book was shot by police, and even though these people didn't know the guy who was shot, they came out anyway and rioted.
And yet none of what they heard was true. A man with a gun was told by police to drop his gun, and he did not comply with that request. I hate to tell you this, but that is going to get you shot every time. Not only that, but in this case - contrary to the media's racist-white-cops narrative, it was a black cop who felt threatened and fired his weapon, and a black police chief who backed up what his officers had to do.

So what should the media do differently? Here's what: I understand that when an incident first occurs, it's difficult to get all the facts straight right away, and that's why they need to step back and stop rushing on air or into print/web with these shooting stories before they know what really happened. Look, I've been a reporter, and I've covered some cop and crime stories - although not a lot. You don't publish or air a story when you don't have all the facts straight, and you certainly don't push some sort of racial narrative if you're not sure it's pertinent to what actually happened.

And yet that's what the media do with every single one of these stories. Regardless of what else they don't know, if a cop pulled the trigger and a black man was hit, they're going live and they're leading with the racial angle. Every. Damn. Time. And if someone - a family member, a witness, whoever - claims the man shot was unarmed, then they immediately go on air and report that. If it turns out later that this was not true, oh well. But not "oh well" for the people who were injured or killed or lost property as a result of the riot that ensued.

This is such a hot media narrative right now that they fall all over themselves to report first and ask questions later. And they cram everything into the racist-white-cops narrative whether it fits or not. No wonder the Colin Kaepernicks of the world believe the things they do. They are gullible fools who gobble up what the media feed them.

Atlanta Officer Kills Black Woman, Injures Child, Following Breastfeeding Argument

In a continuation of the ongoing police scandals rocking the country, 28-year-old Latoya Smith has been pronounced dead following an incident this afternoon in Atlanta, according to multiple local media outlets. This closely follows the recent shooting deaths of Tulsa resident Terence Crutcher and Charlotte resident Keith Lamont Scott which have thrown the nation into turmoil resulting in violent demonstrations.

According to eyewitness accounts, Latoya was sitting on a bench in the neighborhood of Marietta Street (recently named one of America’s 25 most dangerous neighborhoods) waiting for the bus when her infant child began crying insistently. Knowing that her baby was hungry Ms. Smith began to breastfeed her daughter, Layla. She was then approached by a police officer, later identified as Michael Eaton, who requested that she stop feeding the baby in public as it was “indecent”. Ms. Smith refused to comply with the directive and told Officer Eaton that she wasn’t doing anything illegal. Officer Eaton again insisted that she stop and threatened to arrest her for indecent exposure. Ms. Smith calmly responded to the Officer that he could not arrest her because breastfeeding in public wasn’t against the law.

“He got so mad at her”, said Tyrone Webb, who witnessed the unfortunate altercation. “He started yelling at her, saying that he was the police, and that she didn’t know s**t about what was against the law. He got all red in the face, pointing his finger right at her nose. She just sat there and kept feeding the baby calm as could be, being real polite and reasonable. Someone else tried to chime in and tell him he was wrong and he told the lady to shut up and mind her business.”




As the argument transpired the bus approached and Ms. Smith stood up and moved Layla to her other arm, momentarily exposing her whole breast to the Officer and other onlookers. Ms Smith then clipped her breastfeeding bra shut and went to get on the bus with her baby.
Sandra Parker, another witness to the incident, described what followed next: “He screamed at her to stop and told her that she was under arrest. When she ignored him and kept walking toward the bus he grabbed her by the back collar of her shirt and violently yanked her backwards. The poor baby just toppled out of her hands. She hit the ground and the poor little thing just started bleeding from her head. At that point, Latoya became extremely upset and the officer was clearly taken aback. She moved forward aggressively when he pulled out his gun and shot her twice, right there on the street. It was the most horrifying thing I’ve ever seen!”

Onlookers grabbed the injured baby and attempted to staunch the flow of blood from her split head. Officer Eaton is reported to have made the statement to the crowd that “it was an accident but you can’t resist arrest”. Layla was transported to Marietta Central Hospital.

Officer Eaton has been placed on paid leave pending a full investigation. The police department has issued a statement expressing their concern regarding this “unfortunate” event and states that all citizens must comply with orders to submit to arrest peacefully so that accidental injuries can be avoided.

Local community leader and Smith family friend Harold Jackson has called for the arrest of Officer Eaton on charges of murder, calling his actions a travesty of justice. The Smith family has not yet commented on the death of their daughter.
