Hobbes Leviathan. A person is 1) an action 2) a word or 3) representation. Property is an ACTION (deed?) of taking ownership. Reputation is WORD(s) exchanged between two people concerning a third.
Appelations appear in court. You appear by word, action or representation; i.e., by PERSON. According to the maxim "the reason is the same concerning failure to appear and not to exist". Not to exist is a code phrase for FICTION. Fictions appear by REPRESENTATION. Only a fiction makes an appearance in court. Only PERSONS can appear and you MUST be represented (or represent yourself) and by doing so convert a living man/woman into a legal fiction PERSON. Court is where appelations (ghosts) convene to discuss the living.
Ghosts like to discuss the living but they cannot reach out and demand you appear. And if you don't appear voluntarily then you are said to "not exist". This is rich because I will gladly proclaim that I am not yet a ghost and so cannot be summarily summoned to appear in their 'court'. I don't exist there.
