I recently said we haven't been as close to the use of nuclear weapons since August 9, 1945, as now. Perhaps the Russians agree.

Sorry, boys and girls, but the US Federal regime doesn't regard you as valuable enough to actually have a plan to protect you in case of nuclear weapons use. The Russians do, and shelters remain available & stocked for the entire city of Moscow (and other cities, as well). You'll be lucky if you get an EAS message on your phone, radio, or TV before the flash.

Only a Russian would want to survive in post nuclear apocolyptic winter...
the rest of us would be better of dead.

You knuckleheads, nuclear warfare doesn't necessarily mean an exchange until mutually assured destruction, it can involve tactical nukes as well as strategic. There is a WIDE spectrum of what *could* happen (as demonstrated by governments building up stockpiles of nuclear warheads of all varieties as well as hardened shelters and preps in place for the *chosen*), from a single tactical nuke lobbed onto Moscow on the Potomac by N. Korea to exchanging strategic warheads until exhaustion. Nuclear war IS survivable although certainly not desirable and surely extremely unpleasant. There WILL be survivors. Deal with it.

Or the reverse is true...warmongers itching to use one, people in general thinking that now the "the Cold War is over," detonating one or two wouldn't be "so bad."
I would rather see a limited nuclear war, than a genetically-engineered pandemic. The latter is unstoppable, and increasingly likely, as CRISPR technology is adapted for "home use."

I've long wondered if Jerusalem would not end up polished glass, in Eternal Holocaust.
Maybe Moscow has been chosen to deliver it in the name of ISIS?
They might get equal share at the chopping block tables with other nations if doing the deed.
