The replacements are exploding...

Samsung knew a third replacement Note 7 caught fire on Tuesday and said nothing

Jeez, man, Samsung's fried! Every flight I take now they explicitly prohibit turning on Samsung Note 7's. I took one flight recently, and looked at the wifi availability on a flight and there was one that said "Samsung Note 7". It did disappear after a while.

are they crap batteries that are exploding? I see in many phones you can't remove the batteries any more. Not sure about these.

I had a Samsung 2 which was a great phone. Never had a problem. Battery life was poor ex factory but a power tweaked rom saw battery life double. Haven't had a mainstream phone since that one. Don't like branded and network locked phones filled with rubbish apps you could not remove. Always needed to ROM them.

Now I get imports that are very "flexible". Quality is right up there. Price is right down there.

Take a look at BLU phones! Have one love it , unlocked and dual sim !

And replaceable battery ! Will never own anything if I can help it with built in batteries!

Wait you are down under, so access to other good no name phones are likely!

ZTE is effectively challenging the big ones (same specs, or better; half the price), but the winner from this will be Google, with their Pixel.

BLU has a mixed reputation, but if you get a good unit, you will be happy for the price.

yep I'm also happy with my choice. Spec is good and performance matches what's on paper. Better IMO. I would purchase another one. Model selection with this brand is important because feature set and targeted user varies between models.
