He is playing the role of cool/calm level-headed opposition leader. He does not want to get nailed for any violence later. I think he is stretching the definition of "coup" a bit. I would characterize the Clinton's as extreme corruption, not so much a coup; though it could turn into one if they are able to use massive vote fraud to secure the election.
