Hillary eats soul food, campaigns in churches to boost lagging black turnout

Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton’s tours of soul food restaurants and black churches to court black voters in recent weeks doesn’t seem to be paying off. The turnout of black voters is down in many areas compared to 2012, including key battleground states, providing the latest evidence that the former first lady’s campaign may be circling the drain.....

The apparent trend of unenthusiastic black voters comes despite Clinton’s pandering to the constituency through repeated visits to soul food restaurants and black churches in those key states.....

On Halloween, Clinton visited Angie’s Soul Café in Cleveland ahead of a rally at Kent State University, where she was joined for a photo opportunity by U.S. Rep. Marcia Fudge and Cleveland Councilman Jeff Johnson before taking her order to go, Cleveland.com (http://www.cleveland.com/politics/index.ssf/2016/10/hillary_clinton_makes_surprise.html) reports. The day before, Clinton was at Betty’s Soul Food in Fort Lauderdale and spoke briefly with the owner before posing for pictures with several black patrons.
“I gonna take a picture with Betty and her employees,” Clinton said in a video of the stop posted to YouTube (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=73bVraP9B3Q). “We got to get a picture in front of your restaurant, with the sign or by the window.”

Hillary Camp In "Full Panic Mode" As Early Black Voter Turnout Plunges In Key Swing States
According to a recent article by Politico (http://www.politico.com/story/2016/09/hillary-clinton-florida-black-voters-228822), in 2008 and 2012, Obama received 95% of the 1.7mm votes cast by black voters in Florida. Given that, simple math would imply that a 9.5-point reduction in blacks as a percentage of the overall electorate would hurt Hillary by roughly 9 points, versus the 2012 results, which is disastrous news for a state that Obama narrowly won by less than 1 point.
Unfortunately for Hillary, a recent poll from Florida Atlantic University (http://www.realclearpolitics.com/docs/2016/FAU_Florida_August.pdf) provides even more bad news. While Obama received 95% of the black vote in Florida in 2012, Hillary is only polling at 68% among black voters while Trump is polling at 20%. And, at least according to the president of the Democratic African-American Women Caucus, this math has the Clinton campaign in "full panic mode." "Hillary Clinton's campaign is in panic mode. Full panic mode," said Leslie Wimes, a South Florida-based president of the Democratic African-American Women Caucus.

"They have a big problem because they thought Obama and Michelle saying, 'Hey, go vote for Hillary' would do it. But it's not enough," Wimes said, explaining that too much of the black vote in Florida is anti-Trump, rather than pro-Clinton. "In the end, we don't vote against somebody. We vote for somebody."
But, we won't hold our breath until the various polls around the country adjust their "ethnic oversamples" accordingly.

In this video released by Project Veritas Action, a top Democratic donor is caught on camera disparaging members of the African American community at a fundraiser for North Carolina U.S. Senate candidate Deborah Ross. In the video, prominent Ross donor Benjamin Barber expresses his opinion about blacks who vote Republican by comparing them to Nazis.

“Have you heard of the Sonderkommandos? Jewish guards who helped murder Jews in the camps. So there were even Jews that were helping the Nazis murder Jews! So blacks who are helping the other side are seriously ****ed in the head. They’re only helping the enemy who will destroy them. Maybe they think ‘if I help them we’ll get along okay; somehow I’ll save my race by working with the murderers,’” said Barber at a fundraiser for Ross on the Upper West Side of New York City on September 19, 2016.
